Cancelled Plans For An Unplanned Worthy Cause

the way the rain is falling
the perfection of the chill
makes us laugh as we agree to disagree
we cancel our plans for we are both under the weather
we decide to stay under the covers
an idea for hot soup and orange juice pops into my mind
sniffling while smiling, you nod in agreement while lying to yourself for the sake of getting back to wellness
i quickly prepare the soup and add ice to your glass of orange juice
i bring it back to the bedroom as you smile at the early episode of laramie that you found
i quickly join you in the bed and we slurp up the chunky chicken noodle soup and sip on the ice cold orange juice
sniffling, coughing, and sneezing as one, we enjoy the laramie marathon
being under the weather is, at times, a fun thing to be, when you focus on the quality time that you hardly ever think about when working
the stuff we take forgranted is the stuff that lasting relationships are made of
sorry carly, but today we make 'time for the pain' for it is making us feel better without us even knowing it

Premium Member Classic Rock N Roll

Carlo Santana's Black Magic Woman,
in the 60's and 70's gave magic to his
band..

Drugs were part of this movement it's
fair to say. Getting high for many,
while listening to their music, was the
common way

   Peace signs, beads, bell bottoms,
psychedelic shirts, desert boots, and
long hair and marijuana, is what was
in style. Looking back and being part
of that history lifestyle, makes me smile.

   Peace protesters against the draft,
and Vietnam war. Jimi Hendrix, Peter,
Paul and Mary, The Beatles, Bob Dillon
The Beach Boys,Led Zepplin, Rolling
Stones,Elvis,Simon and Garfunkel,
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Neil Young,
Leonard Skynyrd, Eric Clapton, Carly
Simon is all we heard.

They kept our soldiers in Viet Nam
mentally occupied. It helped them
overcome their stress, and brought
some pleasure to their lives.

Rock N Roll Music had an impact
everywhere.The melodies and lyrics
represented a culture reflecting people,
who really cared.

  Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Aerosmith,
Neil Diamond, Barbara Striesand,
Jim Croce made the scene. Years later
Disco and the Bee Gee's came dancing
in.

Disco died, it didn't last long, during
this time Rock N Roll kept rolling on.

Rush, The Eagles, The Police, Peter
Frampton, Boston, Reo Speedwagon,
Blue OysterCult, Fleetwood Mac, Bob
Seger, Steve Miller band, we listened
to. I can't forget Journey, Bruce
Springsteen, Foreigner or the Who.

Bon Jovi, Creed, Madonna, Red Chili
Peppers, Van Halen, Black Eye Peas,
Were hot then. Rock N Roll songs, will
keep on playing, and be appreciated
over and over again.

Time reflects the Lyrics in the songs,
of the good times and the wrongs.
Woodstock brought them all together,
a lasting bond to last forever.. .

 Homeward Bound Simon and Garfunkel
was the favorite song with the soldiers. Also
John mentioned The Lion SleepsTonight by
the Tokens. Robert Lindley also mentioned
their groups that were left out. Please read his
comments below. I also thank Robert for his
valued input.

I just want to add that the 60's and
70's were my personal favorite years.
I say this because people really cared
about the war and each other. They
were right...

Finally relaxing
on my high-rise roof
I notice you across the street on
your balcony seemingly aloof
listening to vintage Carly Simon,
"That’s the Way I’ve Always Heard it Should Be"

You stare my way and energetically waive

I hesitate, smile and then return the gesture

As if on cue you stand and press against the railing

Still smiling as my heart beats faster

"What's your name?" you playfully cry out

"Who wants to know?" is my surprising reply
     Who really am I?

Sudden flashbacks hijack my thinking
Song lyrics dredging up buried memories…

Why is this happening? Why am I sinking?
     Triggered

I hear your beseeching, unintelligible shouts as I retreat
Painful memories open like an oubliette under my feet—

Mockingbird

I am the mockingbird
 darkened gray and black
 singing out a melody,
 rhythms found and repacked.

Everybody has heard me sing
 once or maybe twice
 familiar melodies on the wing
 sweet and nice.

Look for me in shadowed trees
 listen to me sing
 amidst the birds and bees
the continual flow of notes I bring.
 .

Here I come again
 flitting then stationary perched
loud and bold prayers of when
 I found God's presence in nature's church.

Once had a cat Whose Name Was
By
J.A. Long
I once had a cat named Gingerbread
He never saw red
Until his final days
I once had a cat named Sue
I regrated my mistake
But he never said boo

I once had a cat whose name Buck
He used to think he was a watch dog
But never got mistaken for a duck
Until the day he was sadly lost

I once had a cat whose name was Meg
She never even tried to beg
Once had a cat named Alex
Someone might have thought
He created the phone

Once had a cat named Chico
He had a temper
But he was quick to repent

Even though we did not have a tent
I once had a cat named Vaness
She was so sweet that she
Could have been a Contessa
Once had a cat named Melissa
She was a little a playful
And she always wore a tux

Once had a cat named Carly
She did not like barley
But she did occasionally sing
Even on weekends

I once had a cat named Renee
She was sweet and vocal
Thank God she was not a Wren
She gave me some advice before passing away
Oh, I miss them all!

Ridiculous Mornings

Written By: D. Collins 10/28/25

A cup of Steelo, Karrueche, Chanel, Carly, and Rob.
Is way better than coffee when heading to the job.
A good chuckle and hard laugh before starting our day.
Will guide grumpy morning people in a different way.

It will lift us up so high where nothing can go wrong.
Carry it throughout the day and hopefully pass along.
People will wonder what you're smiling about.
You've had a ridiculous morning without a doubt.

Pumped and prepped because LIFE IS SO GOOD.
Spread the capital letters throughout the neighborhood.
Anything can be fixed no matter how it's going.
With just Ridiculous early in the morning.

Premium Member Apology To Misguided Feminists

Clinton on steroids—Fiornina
She shreds truth like a hyena
Let's make the world right
No—she’d much rather fight
As the killer in the arena

Can Hillary have the right stuff?
She couches words not a tight m*ff
If her clothes be stripped
See the mummy from the crypt
Quite rough to see her in the buff

For billionaires—Super PACS pander
Their “MO” is to ooze slander
So join with Bernie
Sanders' great journey
Since he's Mr. ethics and candor

Author's Note: There are two women running for the 2016 White House. I only wish that there was a more qualified woman running for whom I could vote--like Elizabeth Warren. This past Friday I went into Manhattan and saw Bernie Sanders speak. Recently, he spoke at Liberty University, and the event is searchable. BTW, I see Hillary and Carly as sisters in deceit. There is something very wrong with the body language, speech and ideas of each. They both are owned by big money. My apologies to the hard core supporters of these two beastly hypocrites.

Why2

WHY are those who have nothing obsessed over wealth?
WHY are less hospitals less concerned about Health?
WHY are the Homeless still Forsaken/Forlorn?
WHY the Great Earthquake which left Haiti to mourn?

WHY the fuss over Mexicans?...most do no evil or rob
WHY arrest and deport them?...just give them a job
WHY all the shows about vampires, werewolves and witches?
WHY are some rappers such retards, and call Black Women bitches?

So many people Unfaithful, yet, we're "Bought with a Price?
Then WHY krishna/Buddha, and not Jesus Christ?

WHY the murder of children?...this we can't get around
WHY Carly Bruscha, and Nix Mary Brown?
People running to mischief, it seems a pandemic trait
WHY senseless killings on The First 48?

WHY pools of Oil on the Gulf, which threatens those on the coast
WHY do they think their lives over, when still more Blessed than most?
WHY does a person never sick suddenly breathe their last gasp?
WHY are simple things in this lifetime the most hardest to grasp?

There's vast changes in weather, time to Pray and Reflect
It's a sign from Our Maker, not "The Green House Effect"

Without The Lord in our existence, we live each day as mere pawns
WHY does it seem we weep loudest before the Light Of Hope dawns?

The next WHY? an Enigma....requires deep contemplation
WHY did Jehovah choose Israel over every other nation?

Abundant things I can't fathom, though I ponder and try...
2010, eight years later...the question still remains....WHY?
