I’m like a chameleon
I don’t mean to be
Happy when with you
but also happy with just me

My colors change to match
The seasons and the breeze
I’m down for whatever
Happy go lucky at peace

I’m easygoing until you know
I’m needed to be hard and cold
You may or may not be bold
Enough to see my inner child grow

I’ll play the game until the end
Bounce with joy no matter who wins
For I know we will continue to blend
Making new rules new game new sin

I admit I’m a naughty neon girl
Born again but stuck in the world
It’s more what I do in my mind
Not what you see if you are kind

If I really was a truly free soul
I’d pawn my body and heart of gold
And become a body-less being
A Cupid of sorts with love so freeing

But here I am a chameleon soul
In my nightclub life dancing on a pole
Happy to glide in the music solo
In my eyes is a haunting you know

Sanitized For Your Own Protection

“Sanitized for Your Own Protection”

non bis in idem
“untrue”, she considered
the letter was passed
between steel lines
vertical
and read
“you’re not born again
until you are dead”
signed
“Sanitized for Your Own Protection”

Invisible, the cuts in a heart.

Love in its many parts
A Jigsaw Puzzle
Bleeding
pieces of a life
moved around
on clean courthouse tables
before all the books of Judges
discounted time now lost
heartache and the truth recognised for what it was,
reprised like a mouse trapped on a spinning wheel
unable to "get off"

Red
A Road Light
the doe stopped dead in her tracks
was roadkill from the start
she was marked
pulled apart
and disjointed
by the beloved hunter
a haunted unnamed ghost
now seeking forgiveness
tongue out to receive the host

A Jigsaw Puzzle
pieces moved
forward on a
black and white board
bleeding out
the violence unseen
sanitized
abstract bruises hidden
light and dark
veiled like a bride
maintain some kind of dignified

Silence;

but not the eyes
non bis in idem

Phoenix Immortal

Mass of red and gold plumage
blood of supreme incessant immortality flows within
Only I alone can reign stronger
a fortiori
than the army of any man or beast
Symbolic of Christ, ressurection, afterlife
In death redeemed
consumed by fire
only to be born again of ashes
I will rise up again!

Injured from mortals wars
I simply ameliorate and regenerate
I am fire and divinty
Continually watching the irresolute
ever changing, dynamic world around me
In despair I scrutinize and contemplate
as all things moral
are taken from me periodically and adinfinitum
lost ever and again

Armys of mortals have chased my blood for an age
in want of my immortality
Whilst they wrangle with continual want
and I would content for less
I have met no immortal contender
my glorification to you either unobtainable
or a terrible curse
As a deity I serve this planet in all my supremacy
for I will foresee you all

Authors note

This piece was originally written as a two part collaborative effort with poet Kathleen C.
Mannon, otherwise known by pen name kkatie55 . The prompt we were given to write to for
contest was Mortal vs. Immortal in September of 2007, a month after I first started writing I
believe. To begin with we both took our ideas and wrote individually then bringing our ideas
together and changing slightly to fit from there… I tried to write so this would stand alone
too, and have only just decided to bring it out to share for opinion. To see the write with the
omitted verses written by the other poet, please feel free to go view at this link where each
poet has initialled over their respective stanzas/verses.

Thankyou for your trouble in reading this explanation, but I do not wish to discredit its
original intention nor take anything away from the other poet by placing this half here. I
hope you shall be excited about reading it in full…

Premium Member Bethlehem to Nazareth

A road often traveled
migrants and the meek
against all odds
serenity, peace
the quiet longing of the villagers
the blessing every family sought

Those who feared his voice
struck at Jesus and his teachings
they may have crucified his body
not the teachings of love
wisdom and esteem
a Palestinian Jew himself
in the heavens he weeps to this day
the Zionists have not stopped
not stopped at all their evil ways
their hardness of heart endures

The son of the universe
of humanity, divine presence
an outstretched hand for all
he has spoken two thousand years before
Kings and Zionists still deaf
this Christmas time of peace and love
I whisper softly

In the voice of Jesus
as white doves circle
above the manger of birth
he whispers compassion, he breathes kindness
and Bethlehem is born again.

Page Thirty Nine

I was in need...so I clung to the streets thought it was so
glamorous the loyalty was sweet, but in the end it ends
just like the movies, either you dead or in prison, or rat'n
for some cheese. I was deceived, by the world as far as
love went I figure if I'm true to her she'll do the same or
walk away but I guess I was longing for the saviour who
was Heaven sent, so still I know no matter how hard she
tries she could never feel that desire she was never
meant to, but to be help mate my rib the one that makes
it that easier to walk threw the fire. I was in need, of the
music that spoke to my soul and convicted my spirit,
thank God for these Godly lyrics, and anointed lyricist
that I could look up to, I needed to Xscape I found
someone I could run to, but still I gotta die to myself daily
the truth is I'm a sinful man so daily I need saving, I
needed someone who's grace was amazing because it
was so evident I was born with an addiction I needed the
joy that the pastor said I was missing so I start digging
and this is what I found out, I needed to be born again in
Christ and change the old me not just confess it with my
mouth

Premium Member And That Is Ok Jesus Your a Marvelous Thing

AND THAT’S OK JESUS YOU’RE A MARVELOUS THING

Oh, Jesus you’re a marvelous thing
My Lord God you’re a marvelous thing
Whatever gotten into me
I see the glory, it’s written in the story
And all that I’ve did
And all that I’ve done
I have lied, stolen and cheated
Been a fornicator, misrepresented
And one time a non-believer
But now that I’ve confessed my sins
Now that I’ve turn around
Now that I been born again it’s OK
And that’s OK
I’ve been born again
Washed in the blood of the Lamb
Mercy and Grave by the GREAT ALL I AM I AM
And now that I follow the Father
My choice is too now be involved in…
Jesus My Lord My God you’re you are a marvelous thing
And you are, you are the reason I sing
And that’s OK
My God today is the maker of everything
He’s the reason we are beings
And that’s OK
Jesus My Lord My God you’re, you are a marvelous thing
Jesus My Lord My God you’re, you are a marvelous thing

I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
I think I made you up inside my head.
-Sylvia Plath

I see no reason to rhyme,
but an aching heart,
stranded in the midst of nothingness,
as quill rests in a nameless
coffin, like a trembling corpse.

Words woven in tears
glisten like rain,
amidst rustic pages
within a book of bleeding ink.

While
I, the deep darkness,
ponder, would the moon
ever grieve for the sun,
or will she allow waning
stars to abandon
her doleful realm?
As her face
shifts and turns through
phases of changes-
and her soul like
the weary winter,
withers into white-washed wounds.

I am the hazy mirror to
a lunar goddess.
There shadows betrayed
this cruel conscience,
roaming within forlorn vales,
swirling through a woeful wind,
to nocturnal sonatas.

My mind nestles like
a raven resting
at the treetop,
calling your name into
frozen oblivion,
laced in secluded silence,
echoing amidst obsidian fears.

What would they know
of tainted tales,
obscured within the
mellifluous sound of splitting rain?

I am throned to a fallen sky,
drizzling thorns and splinters
upon bruised toes.

Remember, I love you,
through dreams and more,
stretching my fingers
to your silvery spheres.
Now your palette of romance
paints a blurred portrait
of hallowed misery;
dreams forgotten with time.

There’s no perfect
pigment to correct
my insomniac frame
but metaphors to lure me
back to a colorless
castle above satanic seas.

I’m dancing with demons;
as the pain you’ve fed me,
rushes through chained chambers.

Tonight, the storms may seem calm,
like forests awaiting for a trail
of redolent rainbows,
to flicker upon mourning meadows.

Tomorrow, when I slumber
six feet beneath breathing fiction,
will you rewrite cruel convictions,
that stole my purpose to live?

Maybe darkness sparkles upon
rich rivulets of rippling regrets,
so the cosmos would allow the moon
to rise and beam brighter than
the selfish sun.

Let this poem be the last
amulet to sorrowful sagas,
as I untangle your vines
suffocating my final breath,
this is the eternal demise—
I’m dying before your dead eyes.

No Impeachment

I don’t believe Donald Trump should be impeached,
He’s brought light to the Presidency, a dynasty,
Of a long line of ‘born again’ believers, screeched,
Wiling government into a god-inspired fallacy.

Burocracy is not an heuristic term or value judgement -
It’s a rational roll of reasonable deliberations, business,
Mirroring the typical American citizen as sediment,
Which Mr Trump places, to his credit and best guess.

He’s not a force for power without love and freedom,
Stealing smiles from unlikely Democrats, Pub’s alike,
He gives the lesser the right to arbitrate and custom,
When climbing the hierarchy an eager workers’ hike.

He’s not killed five people, an individual’s sadness,
Another quinquennial would see America great again,
With Covid faced squarely and firmly by flatness,
Joe Biden will take it as efficient, practical and fain.

Let the people speak from the Representative’s House,
Not one view, but proffering all view’s to regulate,
Bold with speech, he’s turned the stiff upper clouse,
Into commerce’s flutter, so please give a vulgate.

~I Believe In You Jesus~
(Rhyme)

You know I believe in You my Jesus,my Lord and always will be
You created me and help me every time I'm feeling badly
You heal my weary heart and deliver me of what sin has broken so many times,
And when I accepted Your Salvation You made me see for the first time too!

Now I place my trust primarily in You,God,and agree with You, in all that Your Holy Bible says
You should always come first in everything I say and I do in my daily living
Believing all the way in You my Father God and also in Your son Jesus everyday
Paying attention to what you want me to do while I am here for You waiting

What about you, do you believe in God? Do you believe also in His precious Son?
Perhaps you're feeling deep inside empty overloaded by sin and too many things hidden
But the fact is that you can release it and give it all to Jesus, He'll take care of you
Rend your heart not your clothes, all you have to do is 'believe' and you'll be as new!

Many years before I was 'born again' and someone told me about Jesus, I thought I was okay
But I wasn't really fine I came to found out, I was lost without Jesus, and till I accepted Him I was strayed!

Mid-Life Awakening

Are you having a Mid-Life Awakening?
So many versions of you over time...

Who do you take with you...
Who do you leave behind?

Some who lived, all who survived.
Someone's emerging but they're timid.

Someone old, but new?
It's confusing isn't it... Emerging as the combined and full you.

The one who also made choices that affected others.
The one who's life was often other's collateral damage.

Overlapping realities, do we keep blaming...? Hiding under the covers.
Can we focus our lense, onto ourselves now?

It's okay to be more than you ever could've perceived...
Comprehended even... And to still be a person who has Human needs.

While we awaken to our strengths, let's awaken to our weaknesses...
Let's welcome and make home to being born again without any external forces,
validation or social media butt kisses.

Welcome home, Dear Friend... A young you is proud.
Time to remove yourself from the crowd.

Just briefly, to understand there is a crowd of you within...
Let's sit with them, make home with them and work out who's to walk with you from
now on... And who's to be here with you, to live.
