He lived a life of poverty

from the moment He was born in that manger
His life and His mission were always in danger
His birth was suspect
His lineage in doubt
Yet it didn't stop Him
from possessing a spiritual clout

He lived a life of poverty
at a time when there were no food stamps
a lowly carpenter who many viewed
as a homeless tramp
A selfless Son of God who took on a mission
to go forth and advance, the Great Commission

He lived a life of humbleness
Humility was His cloak
He articulated with godly insight whenever He spoke
He embraced his purpose
the reason He was born
The Messiah our Savior who came to transform

He lived a life of poverty
at a time when there was no food stamps
a lowly carpenter who many viewed
as a homeless tramp
a selfless Son of God who took on a mission
to go forth and advance, the Great commission

His birth was a biblical prophecy fulfilled
For a relationship with God that needed to rebuild
He faced every discrimination known to society
He was played, He was betrayed
and flayed most viciously
Yet He stayed measured in his approach
The Son of Man who was always above reproach

He lived a life of poverty
at a time when they were no food stamps
a lowly carpenter who many viewed
as a homeless tramp
a selfless Son of God who took on a mission
to go forth and advance the Great Commission

He lived a life of poverty
but was rich in everything else that mattered
A gift from God. Our Messiah
our conduit to the heavenly ever after

He embraced his purpose
the reason He was born
the selfless Son of Man
who came to transform
humility was his cloak
godly insight when he spoke
Way maker Wonder worker born in poverty
Jesus of Nazareth who died for you and for me

Premium Member HEART THAT ASKS GOD FOR WISDOM

April 13 Heart for God Bible Meditations Based on 1Kings 3-5

Key Verse – 1Kings 3:11-12 And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.

HEART THAT ASKS GOD FOR WISDOM

Our heart asks God for wisdom in our spirituality
Upon His loving authority
Around His control’s sovereignty
For us to be surely productive in our Biblical Christianity.

Upon His gracious care
Around His mercy’s stare
For us to be divinely aware in our dealings regarding heavenly affair.

Upon His assured redemption
Around His righteousness’ justification
For us to be virtuously holy in our character transformation.

Our heart asks God for wisdom in our service
Upon His trustworthy promise
Around His command’s notice
For us to be constantly circumspect in our ministerial office.

Conversations with my Ceiling

In the biblical Egyptian pitch-black of my bedroom
I take 40mg of melatonin and proceed to talk to the ceiling with hand gestures, for considerable time

The only evidence remains my leaden morning limbs,
(Vestige measured in a remembrance of the flesh)
the classic somatic cipher of the forgotten ‘night before’
arms that don’t bend right, bone-deep weariness signifying some sort of unbeknownst movement, silent attempts

The only evidence remains Friction with the atmosphere,
a sort of ‘woosh’ of the air slap
And I talk and talk to God, who hears my ‘wooshes’ like tackles and throws in a match,
judge among spectators
As he weighs down on my limbs and guides the winds every which way
So that friction is surrounding instead of guiding
Fervently yet stumbling, I ramble corporeally about having no wants
But the ability to desire

Red eyes, forcefully widened, held open by speculums
Last night I was sleep’s huntress
Chasing after my sustenance, threateningly following for sweet relief
Last day, sputtering engine out of fuel
Tonight I am sleep’s prey
My body, my enemy, bent on survival
pumping me full of adrenaline against my consent
The prey awaits in rest,
unless Enlightened

How Staggering Is His Love For Us

This world of different social cultures of interest and perpetual crucial competition is in a boiling state of cruelty and antipathy.

After prayer and during the hours of reflecting, it occurs to me how staggering God's love is for us and that he shows his love through compassion and sympathy.

In the biblical text, it teaches us that his love is bound by his wisdom and mercy.

It is staggering how he still finds us worthy.

It seems as though the hope for salvation and redemption is diminishing in the spirit of mortal man.

It seems that there is an intellectual, vicious, evil craftmanship at hand.

The World seems to be in a tumultuous spin and the faithful are being swallowed up by a whirling ocean of sorrow.

I think of the wondrous ways of God in communicating to us through his son Jesus, who teaches us to be strong in our position of faith in God's plans and purpose for tomorrow.

It is staggering to me that God so loves us that he has an intricate purpose for this Earth.

It is staggering to me that God is a perfect immortal strategist with his complex creation of the entire universe.

In the biblical text, there is authentication of his love for us

I must stay righteously sober and conscious.

Premium Member FAITH IN GOD WHO IS THE ALPHA AND OMEGA

December 26 Faith in God Bible Meditations Based on Revelation 1-3

Key Verse – Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

FAITH IN GOD WHO IS THE ALPHA AND OMEGA

God is the Alpha and Omega Who fills us with heavenly wisdom
While we seek Him first by faith and His kingdom
Along our desire to enjoy salvation-freedom
Midst worldliness’ ignorance and humanism’s boredom.

God is the Alpha and Omega Who grants us divine understanding
While we read the Scriptures by faith of truth’s finding
Along our devotion to learn from Christ’s love, always attending
Midst fake news and rumors, socially trending.

God is the Alpha and Omega Who gives us biblical knowledge
While we strive to apply His precepts by faith we mindfully acknowledge
Along our decision to abide in Scriptural standards’ privilege
Midst intellectualism and logic’s reasoning espoused by any secular college.

God is the Alpha and Omega Who teaches us perfect workmanship
While we labour in producing acceptable fruits by faith of stewardship
Along our diligence to harvest service-yields through the Saviour’s partnership
Midst slothfulness and complacency that hinder real worship.

God is the Alpha and Omega Who causes in us meaningful transformation
While we manifest proofs of our conversion by faith based on our salvation
Along our dedication to win souls and build lives with His restoration
Midst trials and hardships in ministry-function.

God is the Alpha and Omega Who brings us triumphant revival
While we continue to do His will by faith in waiting for His arrival
Along our delight to please Him through His power beyond temptation-survival
Midst doubtfulness’ upheaval and unbelief’s interval.

God is the Alpha and Omega Who reveals to us the power of the supreme Almighty
While we thank Him for His letting us experience by faith His sovereign majesty
Along our declaration to live for Him with testimony’s purity
Midst the Holy Spirit’s guidance toward victorious immortality.

Premium Member Swans As God's Creatures

Delighted by birds’ coloring books
Awed with stories on biblical fowls of the air…
There’s my special child, unperturbed
Eyes glued to a science book he’s trying to comprehend.

In a guessing game,
He’s asked: “What birds are these?
Identify using these clues:
Indeed faithful to mate for life;
male is called a cob,
female partner’s name is pen;
they have a baby cygnet...
As God’s creatures,
they are highly intelligent
and remember who has been kind to them.”

Suddenly... “Swans,” he shouted with glee
Midst his spastic flapping gestures.
In exhilarating triumph
we all bask in his lingering swan-chorus:
"Who made all the swans so beautiful...
God* in heaven above."

*Isaiah 43:15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator..., your King.

Premium Member Here For You

There were inquirers who approached Jesus with questions.
One of note-worthiness to me was one that reminds me of
certain seemingly add-ons about matters of our status in
heaven. A story was rehearsed to Jesus about a succession
of brothers who died with each marrying their brother's widow.

The question was, "Whose wife will the woman be in eternity?"
Jesus' answer about our heavenly status was a very informative
but simple one that speaks to the problems of the assumptions
we make versus sound Biblical truth.

i.e., We often hear someone speaking of deceased loved ones being
like angels in heaven watching over us and influencing matters in our
earthly existence. I don't know this to be a sound Biblical truth,
but who dares to correct a grieving soul needing reassurance and
comfort. I even have reservations expressing this thought presently.

In reality, there are times that our listening ears are far superior
to our lips of truth. In reality, our offerings of hope are much more
vital than our gifts of theology. In reality, with deep love and devotion,
may it suffice us to simply say, "Wherever you are, however you feel,
whatever you say; PRESENTLY, I AM HERE FOR YOU".

Premium Member Beyond a Fairy Tale

To live verily joyous forever
There in heaven with God
In His house of many mansions
Along streets of gold…
Is my Scripture-pictured story
Highlighting the Lord’s love and grace
Surpassing any glamorous fairy tale.

For today’s exploration of varied celestial rooms
I’m pleased to expose to your imagination
An awesome bedroom of delight
Filled with animated toys awaiting your visit
Ready to show how they blissfully became blessings
Through their kindness, gentleness, and helpfulness
To children, especially those with disabilities.

Ushering the young guests is David
One of your favorite Bible characters
Dressed in his shepherd boy attire.
“Welcome to my room,
See that Bible on the bed?
That’s the supreme book in this palace…
Manual of life with victory-instructions.”

When all visitors are seated comfortably,
He continues, “This Bible is authored by the Lord
Who wrote and showed the greatest love story ever told
Where we can find the John 3:16* I believe you can quote.”
As the children recite the verse, all the toys join them in chorus...
Then David plays with his harp, leading the crowd to sing “Alleluia”
Transforming the room into a children’s choir platform.

“Amazing! Praise be to the Saviour!”
Such is the ecstatic exclamation of David
Shaking each child’s hand for the worship song
They awesomely rendered, with pure faith.
“I will soon narrate to you about my sling
Used by God to slay Goliath.
Let us pray and give to the Lord all the glory He deserves.”

Such I will expound to my “special son”
Who loves listening to stories with visuals
Foremost are biblical events that manifest
The Almighty’s power, compassion, and miracles…
His healing, provisions, wonders
Specifically showcasing the Gospel of Jesus Christ
For our redemption, secured and sure.

*John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Wondrously divine in its transcendence
God’s love* affirms kindness of providence
Radiating tender mercy’s resplendence
Defying any counter evidence….
My heart does claim with grateful confidence.

Marked by compassionate condescendence
Christ’s love is offered with heaven’s credence
Midst His sacrifice against impudence
Asserting biblical jurisprudence…
My faith accepts along praise-filled prudence.

Wrought with sovereign superintendence
The Lord’s love marches through grace-incidence
Redeeming those in sin-guilt despondence
Pardoning them from confessed decadence…
My soul receives midst earnest dependence.

Blest to grant everlasting residence
Saviour’s love gives hope of trust’s precedence
From hell’s eternal evil dissidence
Imputing righteousness with peace cadence…
My life owns against selfish diffidence.

*1John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
