This was for keeps for all we knew
so far away so long ago
I really fell in love with you
before you played the second show
White lace and grace and promises
Beguile? Belong? Betroth? Beseech?
it's best to do what momma says
so very close so out of reach
The moment when the slight girl sings
that lovely voice like scented smoke
like chocolate and cello strings
like molten gold or burnished oak
I know I've wasted too much time
the one thing that's in short supply
there'll never be another rhyme
and stars won't fall down from the sky
I tell myself I'm feeling old
there's nothing I can do about it
and what I've garnered unconsoled
of love is how to live without it
Why must our loved ones disappear?
Oh won't you say what laid you low?
I know that you're not really here
it's just that worn-out radio
She came crying
In no season
Me asking
For what reason.
No answer, only sob
A finger pointing on her heart
I suspect it's all about love
As I sense it from the start.
Oh, my daughter is in love
As I hear some romantic phone call
I see her glowing stare from above
Unmindful a glass of water already full.
The happiness is short-live
As she open up her grief
The love she give
Has betrayed by a thief.
She later found out sought
The boy she commit
Is already betroth
Agreed to better quit.
I pity my daughter
For such an early failure
But I never discourage her
For that lovely error.
For a moment, I gave her a glance
And tap her back a shove
Advice her to give her heart a chance
To never give up on love.

State of Grace
bequeath I, as a living sacrifice,
beseech mercy from my iniquities,
betold yon Calvary He paid the price,
bestow afresh trust from antiquities,
bare inhibitions and obliquities,
boost soul midst clemency and gratitude,
behold keen I stayed grasped in rectitude,
blessings prevail harmonizing my life,
betroth my soul justly in servitude,
beckons me gladly to the afterlife.

What man would welcome the bonds of mortgage,
Drown in a long drink of boredom each night?
For celluloid loves we’d gladly forage,
Evil and despair we’d gallantly fight.
Childhood dreams put in permanent storage,
Follow villains into cowardly flight.
A life ordinary needs no courage,
Unlike courting harm to put the world right.
What woman would so crave stability,
She’d aspire to be a coupon maven,
Betroth herself to tame maternity,
For a rut no makeup can enliven,
Spurn the kiss of dapper virility,
Pass each tinselled day ever more craven?
A whole world resigned to mortality,
Thus chases life with double-o-seven.
Lo' beneigh' the random bield, bewails upo' the leaf
An' lea'e me naught but grief and pain, as moone breaks through the heath
Upo' the gilded braes we kissed, luve sang a zephyrs cry
Where say, my luve, o' fare thee weel, till a' the seas gang dry
An' bleak October winds ensue, beneigh' the furrow's frost
The sacred lowe, o' week-plac'd love...o' lost my sweet betroth
Yea withered ere', lies mist and bleak, an' mine an empty hand
With sword in hand, yea wander'd far, monie a ravished land
Och! Fated arrow pierced my heart, cauld by thy warrior's blade
Thy sun has waned, the bluid has poured, so boldly o're the glade
Death oftly feared, tho fear naugt more, so deep within my breast
O' do thou kindly, lie him low, upo' this mound of rest
Whase only faut was lovin thee, my tears in dust, my luve is deeply laid
Immortal I lie down 'ere now, lockt in thy arms, upo' the gilded glade

Key Verse – Hosea 2:20 I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.
HEART THAT IS BETROTHED UNTO THE LORD IN FAITHFULNESS
Our heart is betrothed unto the Lord in faithfulness with His assurance
He unconditionally loves us along merciful perseverance
Around His salvation, marked by eternal endurance
Of everlasting redemption’s insurance.
Our heart is betrothed unto the Lord in faithfulness with His graciousness
He unfailingly teaches us wise truthfulness
Around His Scripture-completeness
Of illumining discipleship’s fruitfulness.
Our heart is betrothed unto the Lord in faithfulness with His authority
He unceasingly transforms us for useful capacity
Around His might-sovereignty
Of effective ministry’s stability.
Our heart is betrothed unto the Lord in faithfulness with His light
He undoubtedly forgives us with purging love from guilt blight
Around His joyfulness-delight
Of peaceful contentment’s flight.
Our heart is betrothed unto the Lord in faithfulness with His fervency
He undeniably inspires us with faithful constancy
Around His righteousness-fervency
Of productive stewardship’s persistency.
Our heart is betrothed unto the Lord in faithfulness with His encouragement
He untiringly cheers us with revival engagement
Around His presence- fulfillment
Of active fellowship’s commitment.
Our heart is betrothed unto the Lord in faithfulness with His direction
He unfalteringly exhorts us with guiding admonition
Around His Word-instruction
Of blessed prayerfulness’ function.

Sinking butterflies drip from the cocoon of consciousness
which no bee nor horse fly could understand for a blink,
and which even humans wish could retreat to the fallen:
Of a body, of a vein, of a spot across a field.
In what daisy does that petal float
where it found it's fateful bee that resists its wings.
Threats from the concrete river keep it mulling,
always waiting for the stem reincarnate.
Why caterpillar nor sunflower betroth it gift
is a bee's greatest myth.
While men worry of time not spent changing
black and yellow armies collapse with no wars raging.
Ripple through, wave goodbye, droplets leave for the sky.
A bee must drown,
a caterpillar will scatter,
only for the butterfly, with wings agape, to show its beauty in death that waits.
Sticks and stones will kill on sight
anything which proposes light.
Black and white stripes guide only us at night,
how funny that stripes are walked upon without a fight.
What they don’t know
one can only assess
What they can’t see
they can never possess
What they affirm
they can never deny
What they proclaim
they can never imply
Things they impugn
only traitors allow
Things they assume
they will never avow
Things they besmirch
they will never applaud
Things they embrace
they will never defraud
Once they betroth
all suitors be damned
Once they constrict
to never expand
Once they commit
to never rethink
Once they get sober
to never take drink
If they remember
those promises cast
If they retender
the future and past
If they stay open
the visions will come
If they’re bespoken
— the truth zero sum

METAMORPHOSIS OF SELF
In a world of darkness and shadows deep,
A creature lies within a chrysalis asleep,
Silent and still, a soul encased,
Awaiting the moment it will be embraced.4
Within the depths, a transformation takes hold,
Starting as a whisper, timid and bold,
Cell by cell, it begins to reshape,
As a striking figure starts to take shape.8
The journey of growth, a wondrous sight,
As the chrysalis cracks, opening to the light,
Emerging slowly, with uncertain grace.
As the figure steps forth, it reveals its form.¹²
A newfound strength, like wings unfurled,
Carrying the spirit, it begins to soar the world,
No longer the caged soul, trapped within,
But a vibrant being, ready to begin.¹6
With each step taken & self-realisation, it'll bloom,
A sense of purpose, breaking through the gloom,
An inner beauty, once hidden away,
Now shines brightly, brightening each day.²°
The metamorphosis complete, a stunning sight,
A symbol of resilience, courage, and might,
For within every chrysalis, a transformation lies,
And the figure that emerges never truly dies.²4
So, let us embrace our own journey of growth,
Embracing the struggles, the changes that betroth,
For within us all lies a striking figure unseen,
Waiting to emerge and to fulfill a dream.²8
