HAND OF GOD
The deluge came like splattered tears,
palm’s held out to see if it was real.
Hemlines lifted as feet kicked against the water.
The scourge of cold could be felt on their backs -
throngs of men, women, sons, and daughters.
Locked inside a cavernous boat, the saved,
like latchkey kids of the Most High.
Blinded from the pain of angry screams,
attending to the cries of the hungry wild.
Eventually, the water deepened and lifted the ark
from the muddy ground. Was there anyone left
to wish them well, to wave, to cheer?
The Lord pats the roof and sends them on their way –
for 40 days and 40 nights.
God pulled out his list and crossed off:
Deluge of complaints
Deluge of suffering
Deluge of immorality
Deluge of selfishness
Deluge of sin

Inspired by the moving storyline in a show. It's not easy when our children grow up to abuse their children. Even when they disappoint us, we still love them.
I loved my son
By Michelle Morris

When we have children
We are optimistic about their future
We believe in their potential
We believe in their goodness
We pray for their hearts
Their minds, their souls
We pray that they'll be
Good as gold
But that's not always
The way life works
Their journey is their own
Their choices can hurt
I loved my son
Despite what he did
I loved my son
From cradle to grave
Good or bad
He was my son
Good or bad,
I loved him all the same
Good or bad,
I feel his loss in my bones
Good or bad,
My heart is broken; my soul, alone
I love my grandson
He is another son to me
I love my grandson
He is a good man, indeed
Someone I'm proud to know
A man whose choices are gold
He is a hero, a warrior
He is a good father and friend
Life is a lot of loose ends
We don't always get the closure we deserve
We have to smile and accept it
We have to breathe and find peace
When we have children
We assume they'll outlive us
We don't imagine that heartbreak
Attending their funeral; trying to survive it
We pray for their hearts
Their minds, their souls
We pray that they'll be
Good as gold
But when they're gone
Before their time
It's a silent scream
Against the reason and rhymes
They may not be
Who we hoped they were
But it the end, we still love them
Because that deep love endures

Oh, how we loathe those who drink,
Such sinners, such losers, they are!
But we think we certainly are far more than perfect?
As we drive high on pot, drugs and booze zooming our oh, so saintly cars?
We stamp their foreheads with big letters, "DOOMED"
Never realizing that praying to God, is the very least we can do.
It's tragic for all involved, the drinker, the family and all his friends, too.
They make him or her the evilest and of him as a human, they loathe and eschew.
Having no idea that lawyers, priests, writers, actors, teachers and children as young as thirteen.
At this very moment attending AA meetings, their desire to be clean and sober is astonishingly keen!
It's never to late to live!
Unless you know someone who has overcome this most daunting task.
You are doomed to think they are lost with their face in a glass.
Untrue, a lie, please have faith in the Lord for healing, on your knees be kneeling with some feeling?
Only Satan wants you to buy into the concept, that there is no room and no hope for healing.

In memory of my husband. Gone, but not forgotten!
Life going by for most
In vacuity like a ghost
Unable to vitalise
The divine within to rise
The oft felt inner stirring
Needing tender attending
Yet our wilful neglect
Inability to stand erect
In mind-heart alignment
Blocks bliss contentment
Whilst by simply being still
Our cup of joy overspills
Automatically
Enigmatically
As layer by layer
Discarding fear we uncover
Magnetic electricity
Elixir of divine connectivity
As this nectar we imbibe
Bliss words cannot describe
Pulsates within in renewal
Rapture in ignition continual
Consciousness bliss shift
Leaves all else save love adrift
Mind-body thus in resonation
With pulse of the Ohm vibration
Ohm the quietus
Leaving no hiatus
Within
Come sit by the fire... let's reminisce
About this and that, about what makes us sing
Watching a robin take its first flight
Or a squirrel scurrying up a tree
The sun coming out from behind the clouds
The gentle breeze blowing the leaves in autumn
The gentle snow flakes softly falling in winter
Covering the ground like a warm blanket
Or is it the laughter of a baby
The purring of a kitten
The sound of cows mooing in the field
The twinkling stars on a warm summer's eve
A shooting star
The hum of the city
Which tells us we're one of many
Enjoying life on this amazing planet of ours
The roar of a jet engine
Taking people away on a happy vacation
The sound of a marching band
The smile on the cashiers face
As she wishes you to have a great day
So many images throughout life
Remind us how amazing it is to be alive
To experience these simple pleasures
To conjure up these amazing vignettes
Of the wonders we see and feel every day
I still remember my very first day at school
That was eighty years ago
But it's just like it was yesterday
Attending my very first baseball game
And none other than Jackie Robinson
Playing second base for the Montreal Royals
In his very first professional game
I could go on and on but as I age
My memory is not as reliable as it once was
Memories are wonderful to try to hold on to
To look back on a life filled with happiness and joy
Of course, there were some sad times
But they were far outnumbered
By just the simple pleasures we all experience
My life has been amazing!
At the foot of the stairwell
face up she lay, knocked, smashed, kicked,
robbed, disfigured, lifeless so
it seemed, when the police came,
with ambulance attending.
In the trauma ward it was
all we knew, except her name
was Edith. Over eighty
the nurses guessed she might be.
Her face so swollen, she lay
unconscious, so dependent
on attentive hands nursing.
Edith was just a form; charts
recorded her distressed state;
a person we could not know.
Without family would she
have anyone to live for?
The third day two young people
arrived; shocked to see her so
unresponsive – as neighbours
they came again with others.
Before she opened her eyes
we began to know Edith,
her nature mirrored in those
she had befriended, cared for.
Cared for, injuries began
to heal. Pillowed, her hair washed,
we could imagine her as
lively, full of interest.
One day she seemed aware of
conversations, their presence
touching, encouraging her
response which came with a hand
held out to grasp friendship; found.
From there it was a long way
for Edith to get back up;
and to walk, to climb those stairs
to home, but with therapy
she was remade with young friends,
friends to live for. She was found.
April 17 Heart for God Bible Meditations Based on 1Kings 12-14
Key Verse – 1Kings 12:15 Wherefore the king hearkened not unto the people; for the cause was from the Lord, that he might perform his saying, which the Lord spake by Ahijah the Shilonite unto Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
HEART THAT BELIEVES THE LORD WHO PERFORMS WHAT HE SAYS
Our heart believes the Lord Who performs what He says with His grace
Surely making us obtain favour in His sight, despite our sinfulness’ trace
Indeed, upholding our salvation by His compassion’s brace
Ever kind to accept our worshipful praise.
Our heart believes the Lord Who performs what He says with His goodness
Surely forgiving us of our admitted selfishness
Indeed, accepting our repentant earnestness
Ever merciful to pardon our filthiness.
Our heart believes the Lord Who performs what He says with His guidance
Surely directing us toward His deliverance
Indeed, guarding our decisions against ignorance
Ever authoritative to subdue our arrogance.
Our heart believes the Lord Who performs what He says with His generosity
Surely providing us according to His rich bounty
Indeed, meeting our needs to vanquish poverty and futility
Ever magnanimous to fill our dearth or scarcity.
Our heart believes the Lord Who performs what He says with His gripping
Surely enclosing us inside His care against fright-caused groping
Indeed, warming our spirit around His revival’s wrapping
Ever gentle to soothe our soul of painful hurt’s griping.
Our heart believes the Lord Who performs what He says with His glory
Surely hearing us in our lamenting misery, as well as in our triumphant story
Indeed, attending to our prayer and confession expressing sorry and fury
Ever timely to grant our expected faith-propped victory.
Our heart believes the Lord Who performs what He says with His glow
Surely cheering us by His provisions along blessings’ flow
Indeed, supplying our spiritual fuel against faithlessness-woe
Ever ready to rejuvenate our revival fire from distress’ blow.

September 16 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on Mark 7-9
Key Verse – Mark 8:1 In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples unto him, and saith unto them, I have compassion on the multitude…
LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY SAVIOUR OF GREAT COMPASSION
Lord God, You are my Saviour of great compassion,
washing me by Your holiness’ cleansing
Thank You for forgiving my half-heartedness of shallow praising
I repent from worshipping You in vanity’s enclosing…
To You do I lay my life along Your commandments’ pressing.
Lord God, You are my Saviour of great compassion,
working through me toward spiritual profitability
Thank You for rebuking my lack of dedication midst obvious iniquity
I repent from defiling myself with wickedness’ impurity…
To You do I cast cares that cause my soul’s infirmity.
Lord God, You are my Saviour of great compassion,
wiping me of my filth by Your sanctification
Thank You for purifying my heart against sinfulness and transgression
I repent from breaking my pledge to You because of temptation…
To You do I lay my all with sincere dedication.
Lord God, You are my Saviour of great compassion,
watching me with Your understanding
Thank You for enlightening my mind along Your truth’s leading
I repent from rejecting Your corrections toward my arrogance-bending…
To You do I bring my need for Your gracious attending.
Lord God, You are my Saviour of great compassion,
weakening me of my flesh-powered endurance
Thank You for listening to my prayer, providing for my eternal insurance
I repent from neglecting to prioritize You because of ignorance…
To You do I give my submission, braced by Your assurance.
Lord God, You are my Saviour of great compassion,
winning over me from worldly entanglement
Thank You for securing my freedom against secular humanistic involvement
I repent from seeking enjoyment from temporal, ephemeral allurement…
To You do I surrender my unbelief while clinging to Your promised fulfillment.
Lord God, You are my Saviour of great compassion,
warning me against peace-robbery
Thank You for gripping my commitment by Your miracles’ victory
I repent from offending You with my doubt and worry…
To You do I offer my sacrifice in the ministry for Your glory.
