I think of my Ego
and therefore perceive my bright light space place,
like my self-identity

says Yang.

Premium Member Stars and the Cottonwoods

He loved the stories his Grandpa would tell when he’d visit him on the reservation…his favorite story…the one he’d always ask for…was about the stars…and their creation.

“The stars form secretly in the Earth”, Grandpa would begin, as he set him on his knee… “they drift under the surface until they find the roots of the cottonwood tree.”

“If there is a reason they choose the cottonwood…only the stars and the trees know why….the stars enter the roots…then work their way up…and wait till they are needed by the sky.

When the night sky asks the wind for more stars so the starlight can be increased,…the wind shakes the cottonwood branches, and when some break…new stars are released.

These new stars, just set free…who are only beginning to understand their light….ride upon the wind to take their places in the night.

The night sky ask these new stars to twinkle as their new life begins…it’s her way of showing the stars are safe…and saying thank you to the wind.

But Grandpa’s story doesn’t end there…if fact for his grandson, this is where it starts…as what happens next….is…and always will be…his grandson’s favorite part.

Together they gather fallen cottonwood twigs…and wait till the time is right…when the weather is calm, the sky is clear…and stars fill up the night.

They know this part by heart for they always follow the same plan…they close their eyes hold their twigs up high…then snap them as fast as they can

When they open their eyes they check the twig to see if a star pattern they can find…because the pattern is the shadow the new star has left behind…

Then they look up to the sky again…they they look high and they look far…If they see a twinkle in the sky…it’s a thank you from their star.

He love visiting his Grandpa…and if you ask him the reason why…
He’ll gladly tell you it’s because of all the stars they have sent up to the sky.

Men of the World

Men of the world
By Michelle Morris
08/11/2022

Men of the world, we implore you
Please speak up, we adore you
You are our partners, you are our friends
You are colleagues and parental beings

You do so much, you have stress too
You need to ask for help, 'cos we're here for you
We won't let you down, or let you fall
We'll be there like when you guard our walls

You don't always have to be a macho guy
You don't have to have answers every time
It's okay not to know it all
It's alright to feel weak and fearful

No one has it together all the time
Everyone has doubts, tears and strife
There is grief and loss, and bitterness
There is sadness and hopelessness

But through it all, the world will turn
The sun will shine and hope will burn
Strong like a phoenix rising from the ashes
Pure like light from stars in the galaxies

For you have a choice every single day
To live a life of love and light and grace
To remember that you matter to us all
For without you, all nations would mourn

It’s Times Like These That I’m Confused and So I Hold Your Hand

It’s times like these the stars feel far,
And every lamp burns cold and thin—
The world is loud, the winds unkind,
And shadows press against my skin.

I do not know the road ahead,
Nor what the morning sky will show,
The songs I loved have lost their tune,
And even time forgets to flow.

But in the hush between two breaths,
Your fingers curve and reach for mine—
A warmth that needs no reason why,
A silence deeper than a sign.

I do not ask for all to mend,
Nor hope that fate will make me wise,
I only need this fleeting thread—
Your touch beneath the troubled skies.
And in your hand, the world is kind.

A Little Off

nothing seems to work out
the way i have it planned
when the crowd sits down
that's when i decide to stand

things always seem to go
a tad bit different for me
just a tick or two off
from what's considered life's normal beat

when they're no longer taking questions
that is when i raise my hand
when they ask for women volunteers
i stand up like a man

people often wonder
exactly what it is
that continually brings about
this life of quirkiness

my friends, they ask quite often
is there a cure for what i do
9 out of 9 doctors surveyed
say they don't have a clue

guess i'll continue living life
the way it is i am
as long as i'm happy with it
i see no need to try and understand

Mama Africa

Mama Africa
She gave us a world

Inside this world
Was all we ever ask for

She gave us nature
To nurture our life's

Yet we are full
Of ignorance

Fighting for what
We don't need
Just to satisfy
Our urge

She gave birth
To love
Yet we trow hatred
Back to her face

What kind of humans
Are we today
If we are to live
With out her

She gave us life
Yet we chose to
Destroy it
Pollute it
And live like
She meant harm
To our comfort

She saved us from
Darkness
Still we kill her
Life

And now
Sooner or later
We are so soon
To destroy her world
Just because of our ignorance

The Cry of the People

the cry of the people
I remember the day of glory
as they stand so truthful
with a new political slogan
of change
I remember the faithful afternoon
full of promise of hope
while we chant their political names
with hopes high
I remember how they act like saints
when we all ran to the streets to hail
our new president elect
even the youth walked from Lagos
to abuja
to show support and love to our
hero
is a pity now what we see

the cry of the people
I remember the joy in the heart of
the people as they welcome their
new president elect
I remember you promise a lot
I remember you promise to erase
poverty out of our land
I remember how you boldly took
an oath of power to serve and
protect your nation
I wish your words were real
I wish you realised what you standing
for
I wish our story was changed like
you promised
but now is a pity

the cry of the people
I remember how you were every
where with your sweet word of
improvement
yet we are stagnant
I remember how we trust you
but now we cry in pain
I remember you claimed to be
for all but now some other tribe
is been excluded with intimidation
I remember you stood for peace
yet our life is scattered in pieces

the cry of the people
how could we have a non
existing president
yet we have a President
and when we ask for the presence
of our president
whom was voted in power by
our vote
we get beaten up.
we get killed
we get jail terms
so I remember the times
we trust on this political slogan
of change
we don't need this change
this change of yours mr president is changing us to
poverty depression and inflation
this changed has changed us to
an hungry lion
this change has chased us to
the street to protest for our right
we are tired of your change
Mr President
yes we are tired of hoping even
we need our vote back or no more
election in the country
that is the cry of the people
and the cry of the people
is the
voice of God

Premium Member My Philosophy During the Pandemic

My philosophy during the pandemic
evolved slowly with the testing time….
I learnt to minimise my needs,
and care more about others,
realised how transient was life
how meaningless our wants,
learnt to focus more on the soul
less on my perishable body,
I wiped tears and reached out to many,
saved lives and saw a few die….
sadness and grief, everywhere around,
but learnt hope, when I saw children smile,
I gave away what I could, and learnt to
live with what I had and not ask for more.
Hunger of others hurt me more
than my own hunger,
In this disaster of nature
I learnt to understand the meaning
of love and God!
most importantly His design!
My eyes are now set to be one with
that eternal light .. the absolute truth!
like fire brings the best in iron
this experience has reshaped my belief!

~In The Fall~
(Dorian's Five Eight And Five)

Summer's almost gone
It means that fall will arrive soon
And this is just nice

Leaves from the trees change
Yellow reds browns golden all shades
Leaves in the air float

In fall all things change
Different sounds smells all around
Thanksgiving we greet

Great food on display
Family get together to
Celebrate this day

On Halloween folks
Wear costumes of all kind some are
Scary some funny

Love Halloween too
Night full of fun and playing tricks
Kids ask for candy

Go out trick or treat
Enjoy night imagining ghouls
Ghosts vampires witches

Fall is great season
The weather gets colder and crisp
Fall is beautiful

I want it quick, now, and it has to be the best.
My child does not want those shoes.
You need to bring him designer shoes.

Gimmee Gimmee Gimmee
Yes put my children on the Christmas list.
But make sure you bring them something better
Than you would ever buy your own children
You need to bring the receipts too

Gimmee Gimmee Gimmee
I am sick of people saying they are taking our cards
They are closing our accounts, they are wanting us to work.
I am disabled every second of the day
Unless I want to do something, then I am not.

Gimmee Gimmee Gimmee
I am entitled, and it had better be something nice.
Free prom dresses. Of course. Free turkey at Thanksgiving.
Yes, and it had better be pre-cooked. I do not appreciate
Getting a half-gift

Gimmee Gimmee Gimmee
I have no idea why my child asked you to give her that.
I did not raise her to walk into a room and ask for something
And then get mad if she did not get it. Or maybe I did?
