Men of the World

Men of the world By Michelle Morris 08/11/2022 Men of the world, we implore you Please speak up, we adore you You are our partners, you are our friends You are colleagues and parental beings You do so much, you have stress too You need to ask for help, 'cos we're here for you We won't let you down, or let you fall We'll be there like when you guard our walls You don't always have to be a macho guy You don't have to have answers every time It's okay not to know it all It's alright to feel weak and fearful No one has it together all the time Everyone has doubts, tears and strife There is grief and loss, and bitterness There is sadness and hopelessness But through it all, the world will turn The sun will shine and hope will burn Strong like a phoenix rising from the ashes Pure like light from stars in the galaxies For you have a choice every single day To live a life of love and light and grace To remember that you matter to us all For without you, all nations would mourn © Michelle Morris, 2022

Men have not done much to earn your esteem! But then being bigger and stronger than most does produce bullies. Aloha!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. My focus for this poem was to be uplifting and inspirational. The suicide statistics for men is exceptionally high. I wanted to remind men, including my male friends and family, that they could share their feelings. Take care.

A lot to think about in this poem in praise of men, Michelle. I enjoyed reading it.

Thank you. I'm hoping that men will speak up about their concerns and stress. The rates of suicide, for example, are too high. Please take care and enjoy your life.
