Premium Member Fixated By a Rose

Sometimes our attention will turn toward some of God's special creations that may cause our hearts to skip a beat or take one's breath away. Such was the case with me when one of God's choicest roses left me speechless and staring.

While chatting with a friend, I looked to our right and saw a mobilized rose bush* moving in our direction. It appears that I was more startled and enchanted by the beauty of the roses than by the animated movement. The roses were much lovelier than any that I had ever seen and were most beautiful, full of color, and downright stunning.

I did not speak to the rose but wanted to, nor it to me, but I heard it well in unutterable tones, and as I stared at it with wonderment, it watched me sheepishly. I was to some extent spellbound and for a while, I could not look away. There were also other flowers standing and some coming and going in a most orderly fashion, but none was as noticeable as the roses that came in our direction.

Indeed, for a few seconds, I forgot that my friend was standing there, and lest I be embarrassed, I discontinued staring at the one particular rose that had spell bounded me. I then turned toward the less eye-catching flowers, but that special rose continued moving toward my friend and stood next to him as I walked away. By then it was clear to me that they knew each other, but it was also clear to me that the rose was not available to me for acquisition, nor was I in a position to acquire that priceless rose.

It's been many a year since first seeing that mesmerizing rose of impeccable purity and refinement, so arresting and captivating of me as no rose, violet, lily, or lilac ever had before. Never had I encountered a flower so adorable and embracing.

I tell you, roses are my favorite flower, and many of them have graced my home for more than 22 years. I must confess that there have been times I have denied them proper care and adequate water supply due to drought conditions, but I love my long-standing roses dearly. Moreover, for a long season and more, I cannot forget that overwhelming rose that fixated and left me speechless more than 10 years ago.

Premium Member A Successful One and Done Message

I look out there

With a curious stare

An informative world conference experience

Should be attended if serious

No one can be seen

What could it mean?

Except for a gentlemen

A message the individual wanted to send

Holding a nation flag, notebook, and pen

A voice he wanted to lend

“I have a question

If we are in recession?

Have you heard of the triangle?

An international tangle

Displaying a thoughtful right angle

Culture, education, and health care

Are being challenged and dared

Need protection

Thoughtful interjection

Important academic schools

With lifelong skillful tools

For once learned

Decisions made are firm

Finding the right track

Not handled like a hack

I took the inquiry to heart

Swirling the Idea, I did start

Peacefully inserted in my mind

A concept I did not decline

Today we are competing in games

Warriors are athletic names

Many view sports as culture

Winning addiction turns someone into a vulture

Accepting the call

Try breaking down a destructive wall

Blocking interaction

Military might form a written retraction

On letterhead

This is better than counting the dead

If participants are not on stage

No matter the age

A surgical mask is worn

Due to health care virus that has torn

Creating a battlefield scene displaying those in mourn

Hopefully studying these two lessons

Creating a socially accepted confession

Commanding clean up the angry mess in

After grading egotistical testing

Minus violent arresting

Funny no spectators in the seats

Pondering the Olympic flame heat

Just like my speech

Where only one person I did reach

Was that lone soldier enough?

To release the peaceful white dove

Flying above

Filled with love

Getting things straight

‘We live in a world that should not encounter hate’

Remember only an audience that has one

Can get the real job done

Since the spoken word directly would be understood

Masses not tinkering under the hood

Engine conversation perfectly sounding purr

Warming the ice-cold burr

Leaving positive talk in the pot to stir

Honestly defeating any army, endured

Premium Member Contrasting Exits

In 2018 there were four who exited life's door never to return. There was an additional one whom I feared might also depart, but he recovered from his sickness and now continues his mission. My acquaintance with each of them was for many years a God-send. Each of them entered this world and walked upon the stage of life.

We enter this world one by one and at once our stories begin to unfold and later to be told. There's much to be told between the dashes, but here I speak of exits only and how they contrast. In years past I paid meager attention to little things that in the grand scheme of life are not small. I see and observe more now, feel more deeply what surrounds me, especially when they take their exits. I apologize if it appears small to you, but to me it is huge.

It's the exits of four men in 2018 of which I speak. Men of my acquaintance and friendship who completed their mission. It is not their demise that arrests me, but I am somewhat captured by their contrasting exits. I was privileged to sit and talk with one and pray with him in his dying days. We spoke of some pleasantries we shared together, and I was pleased with being allowed to say goodbye. With another who did not linger, I rushed to his bedside some three days before his demise. He observed me with a stare, unable to respond as I stroked his hands and head. My third friend was a public figure and received a public celebration before his final exit. At the end of the service, I kissed the top of his head saying, "Goodbye, I love you."

The sun, having received its commission, rises in the east and proceeds with its daily mission of providing light and energy. It then sets in the west often with the most awesome glow, beautifying the horizon. But sometimes, the sun exits or sets contrastingly with a rainbow or even cloud cover, like the exit of my fourth and final friend whose passing was sudden and more arresting than the others. Less than 60, much younger than the others, he departed without a word. However, several days before his departure, I was privileged to spend a few telling moments with him. Contrasting exits. Yours and mine; Only God knows how it will end. But because of Christ, it can be good.

Premium Member Lord God, You Are My Enquiry Responder

April 4 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on 2Kings 1-4

Key Verse –2Kings 1:6 And they said unto him, There came a man up to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that thou sendest to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY ENQUIRY RESPONDER

Lord God, You are my enquiry Responder with Your “Thus saith the Lord”
Thank You for answering me with Your sure Word
As You gird my faith by Your Spirit’s sword…
I come to You along Your righteous record.

Lord God, You are my enquiry Responder with Your truth so precious
Thank You for affirming to me Your mercy that’s so gracious
As You hold my reactions in Your peace, making me divinely conscious…
I live for you, and by Your guidance, become persistently conscientious.

Lord God, You are my enquiry Responder with Your heavenly wisdom
Thank You for approving me of my ministry-mantle in Your kingdom
As You meet my needs always, not seldom…
I look up to You in climbing maturity’s mount along Your granted freedom.

Lord God, You are my enquiry Responder with Your life-building reign
Thank You for ascertaining to me Your compassion without strain
As You discipline my rebellion in Your chastisement’s terrain…
I go up to You, departing from wilderness, causing me to drain.

Lord God, You are my enquiry Responder with Your call for deliverance
Thank You for assuring me Your presence along Your forbearance
As You fill my soul through Your faithfulness-appearance…
I rise up toward You, along my indignation against my ignorance.

Lord God, You are my enquiry Responder with Your continual calling
Thank You for asserting to Your purposeful plan-fulfilling
As You embrace my heart against fleshly cooling…
I lean on You, laying to You my all along Your kind dealing.

Lord God, You are my enquiry Responder with Your encouraging drive
Thank You for arresting me of my humanistic craving to thrive
As You smite my pride so I can humbly strive…
I stay in You, believing that Your love for me does not deprive.

Premium Member Unforgiveness

Regarding forgiveness, never had I heard it said in such a way as it flowed so gently from the lips of a wise woman today. From the innermost being of one so pure and noble and from one who surely practices the art of forgiveness came words most arresting and refreshing.

Unforgiveness can lay hold of its victims, forcing them into captivity for a lifetime; and in so during, no parties involved are benefited.
Regardless of the depth of our wounds or how inhumanely we have been wronged, to be truly free and whole, we must find a way to forgive others.

The wise lady said that we can approach matters of forgiveness like we deal with the loss of a loved one. We can allow the grief to saturate us to the point of never letting it go, taking it to the grave with us. Or, we can acknowledge the pain and sting of death, release the grief and move forward. Likewise, release the offending person and "move on".
The deceased one does not come back to life. The offense cannot be undone, nor does it go away any more than death or its sting of grief and loss. However, we learn to live with the loss and gracefully move on, thriving with the love of God in our heart. Also, we become candidates for the healing of others.

Hustling Keep Moving

Hustling keep moving
On my ground
Doing my thing
The day is hot
But I must eat
In the ghetto
Where life is so hard

But I got to do
What I have to do
To earn what it
Takes to survive

Hustling keep moving
I know you know
What it means to fight
Is not a child's play
The survival is the strongest
The weak is the looser

In an environment
Where all is so eager
People so worried
Kids play on sands with
An empty stomach
No one to help
Not even the politician man
Yet we keep hustling
Moving on

Hustling moving on
Boys can't date cos
Love is base on money
Unaffordable
Paparases keep rooting
Our leaders belly's keep improving
The poor still poorer
While the rich still richer
What else is to do?
But hustling
Keep moving

Hustling keep moving
In the streets where the people
Are use to poverty
Where dogs look like
An European female model
Every corner's full of dirty waste
Off curse we cares

The people keep pushing
Doing what ever it takes
Just to feed
It a love for day
And don't worry about
Tommorow life style
People so addicted to hard work
For low wages
What else is to do
But hustling
Keep moving

Hustling keep moving
Girls on the street waiting
For sugar daddies
Men on black
Keep raging and arresting
The people in the
Name of crime
Oh no
I have to keep hustling
Keep moving

Hustling keep moving
They say this and that
Is a crime
Is ovious they don't care
To understand the reason
Behind the crimes
They keep fighting
Only the poor for crimes
Brutally treating the innocent
Like the old
Blue, red, white, slaves,
Still the people keep
Moving on
Boys still hustling harder
And harder each day
Man must eat is the song
On the lips of every ghetto youth
Night and day

Hustling keep moving
In hunger the young men
Are frustrated to stealing cos
No job
In hunger and desperation
The young ladies are force
To prostitution
4square is final destination
Of the ghetto youth convicted
All like a Third World War
On the third world contries
Now I know why they say
We are from the down town
But I wonder if we are down
Or the town is down
The game is still on
The rules are so high
But the only way out is
Hustling keep moving

Premium Member God's Special Effects

I accidentally let one loose. That is to say that each time it occurred, with no assistance from me, there flowed from my innermost being a sense of reverence and a quick flash of wonderment to acknowledge and give recognition to the awesomeness of our God.

Although it was the kind of rain that caused neither despair nor pain, there were many people who feared when those dark clouds appeared.
Every part of me was saying, "Wow! Amazing! Spectacular! O my God!" It could be warm, sunny, and bright when suddenly it turned to midnight. But in the height of one's fright, there was never any need to take flight.
It's that weather system with thunder and lightning that makes you wonder.

Hollywood never comes close to those great special effects of light and sound. It's like the roaring of a lion readying for the kill or like anticipating a wintry chill. Like wide-eyed terror in the wilds; should I make haste for the hills or remain still?

The rolling thunder and the splash of lightning were both arresting and captivating. Rarely if ever did all that pump and circumstance cause pain to anyone but were simply the breath-taking layout of 'the red carpet for the grandest entry of The Summer Rain'. The fields of cotton, corn, beans, and hay had everything to gain, and we all refrained.

Those sudden and stormy southern summer rains are most memorable. The floodgates of heaven would open and pour out its mighty drops of rain enough to astound, often for just a few minutes, followed by a divine quietness all around. A spellbinding storm had departed just as suddenly as it had appeared. Then, the clouds would brighten and roll back, making way for the grand reentry of the sun. In no time at all, we returned to work or to have fun.

Premium Member Lord God, You Are My Iniquity-Smiter

April 1 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on 1Kings 14-16

Key Verse –1Kings 14:15 For the LORD shall smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall root up Israel out of this good land, which he gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their groves, provoking the LORD to anger.

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY INIQUITY-SMITER

Lord God, You are my iniquity-Smiter along my shameful childishness
Thank You for checking my lack of reason due to my foolishness
I repent from feigning myself before Your righteousness
Help me follow Your commandments with earnestness.

Lord God, You are my iniquity-Smiter along my perilous rage
Thank You for blocking my evil thoughts that hinder my courage
I repent from indulging myself in sin’s vain wastage
Help me choose Your ways by Your guiding vantage.

Lord God, You are my iniquity-Smiter along my fatal jealousy
Thank You for transforming my attitude with Your truth and mercy
I repent from burying myself in humanistic tendency
Help me submit to Your leadership’s holy fervency.

Lord God, You are my iniquity-Smiter along my obvious imperfection
Thank You for correcting my shallow dedication and skin-deep devotion
I repent from presenting myself with hypocrisy’s passion
Help me do my part in the fulfillment of Your great commission.

Lord God, You are my iniquity-Smiter along my carnal involvement
Thank You for arresting my compromises of damaging engagement
I repent from immersing myself into worldly allurement
Help me abide in Your will midst Your perfection-enablement.

Lord God, You are my iniquity-Smiter along my fleshly might
Thank You for directing my walk toward Your throne’s light
I repent from encamping myself against Your protective sight
Help me stay in Your compassion’s delight.

Lord God, You are my iniquity-Smiter along my futile vanities
Thank You for illumining my vision through Your Word-certainties
I repent from hiding myself against worship-filled duties
Help me stand upon Your strong foundations of eternal verities.

Catharsis

Why don’t you come now
To the plot of blue river shore
Where we would
In an intense chocolate mood
Sit in a sun rise satisfaction
On the grainy sand
And create pearl drops of time
From the rhymes of waves
With the vibrancy we behaved
Exchanging those fine chimes
From our moonbeam dialectics
And converging synthesis
Of our hilltop thoughts and marine activities
After a diamond quest
Like the river
Or inside the river too?
How wonderfully we regressed and progressed
Making those radiant rings of time
Sometime winged
Sometime pink tinged

Time is bland and monochrome
Unless from your chromosome
You paint it like Van Gogh
Arresting the wayward clock
During which
Regardless of Greenwich
Taking colours from our river-wave flowers
Taking flavours from our cellular tremors
Taking sounds from our nascent heart pounds
Yours and mine
In our proximity alkaline
Would paint the wavelets
In the cups and plates
Opening the normally closed gates
Of sweet sweats
From each pore
And millions of such pores
From smiling to laughing in a petrichor
Unlocking the thousand doors
Of a colour continuum
From San Francisco to Baltimore
As we exchange our breath
From our deepening cores
Raising a rivulet
In the blue pigeon’s breast
And the bulbul’s beautiful crest
A supreme rest
In a purple tumult

Shadows lengthen in ecstasy
As sessions come to a termination
(No termination is possible though
What happens is a slow transformation
Of one melody to another music
Speeches flowing into lyrics
The sounds into stillness mystic)
So therefore
Bringing to the fore
From the amalgamated core
A flower of fusion
Pure and fresh
Out of the flood
No mire or mud
Looking at us conveying greetings
We look too
And from the meeting
A poem is born

Why don’t you come any more
Very often I look through the eye hole
Of my expectant door
The wishes naturally soar
In case I may see you coming
Dulcet sounds your feet strumming
But it’s all mist
I almost don’t exist
I miss the oasis
Of the cleansing catharsis
