Premium Member The Opposite Colors of Me and You

(Anacreontic Verse)

My color is white -
white like a dove
seeking peace.
A second color
flutters near me.
It’s the yellow
of a canary
that sings in the sun.
Basking in light,
it’s looking for fun.
Your color is red -
red like a fire,
a fire that crackles
and sometimes explodes.
The cool hue of blue
is following you -
cool like the sea.
Sometimes your blue
swallows the red
before you are
wholly consumed.
You can’t understand
the colors I am
though yours I try hard
to comprehend.
Burn with your red,
but I’ll softly coo.
Then cry your blue tears.
In the sunshine
I will keep singing.

This poem is based on a personality test (used by professionals) called The Hartman Color Code. We are born with a personality, which according to the man who devised this test, can draw certain people to us. In the case of my marriage, it was "opposites attract." Premium Member 'beloved'

(Anacreontic Verse)

He smiles and he
reaches for me
I slide my hand
into his cold one
and he lifts it
to his lips
beautiful dead lips
we are lost
in our universe
and we drift
his sweet kiss
like no other
I am floating
then it is over
and he fades away
I am weeping
it is a dream
a breeze touches me
it is dark here
at his tomb
in memory of
my beloved
engraved in stone
something glitters
and I move closer
a perfect rose
wet with tears
his dead tears
I kiss the petals

Premium Member Harpist Angel

As if she stretched
both sides of her smile
in pizzicato,
then lets go...
Each note ascends,
circles her head
like a halo.
Cascading strings
send shivers through clouds.
‘Nine’ giggles —
the proverbial
cumulus-
   humulus.
The harpist angel
weaves her fingers
in ancient frolic.
The instrument,
rocks like a baby
in her mother’s arms,
with wings upright.
Tight like friends,
bound to serve,
their souls are one.
The shalom of
  solitude
and harmony,
sympathetic
   vibrations,
and God’s love.

Premium Member A Painting of You

Anacreontic Verse

With canvas primed
and brush in hand
I stroked on colors
that were not bland.
A shade of blue
like my love's eyes.
His woolen coat,
I painted red,
the one he wore
when he left the note.
It told me
what he left unsaid.
He wrote to me,
"I am sorry
if I hurt you but
this is goodbye."
What a coward!
I didn't cry.
Instead,
I painted
his body yellow.
What kind of fellow
ends it like that?
Painting finished
and sent to his house.
The note attached read,
"This canvas
is for you.
I call it
'Painting of a Louse'."

April Showers (Anacreontic Verse)

Putting the blame
on global warming
winter felt the pinch
rain was scarce
and spring arrived
lamenting its luck
unable to twirl
in habitual gown
of green satin
shyly tiptoeing
keeping a low
profile, feeling blue;
the wind intervened
encouraged her
with soothing words
to wait patiently;
providentially
dark clouds came
unexpectedly
and April showers
quenched thirsting soil;
spring breathed
in relief, able
to look ahead
unashamedly
in the knowledge
that May would
come, parading
delightful flowers
in abundance!

Premium Member A Lover's Dance

Anacreontic Verse

With evenings pause
of feathered red
the night will fall
upon our hearts
to dance in moon light
with shadowed spells
where tender mouths
merge and form
to dance away
with fingers held
where feet of grace
see a mirage
in dress of blue
that catches air
as you spin
I'll take a bow
before your form
and hold the moment
with purposed cause
then lift you high
above the floor
a silhouette
against the moon
to render down
with softest touch
and place a rose
into your hair
as you spin away
with eyes of fire
inviting passion
and the moon will set

My Summer Time

                               Summer time!
                                Grammer of
                                my life style
                                composes
                               great nice piece
                                on my grand daughter.

                                     Average!
                              Three months stay.
                                 Beverage!
                                 I relish
                               chattering
                               chirping of
                              Sweet pretty
                              cheerful child
                              three years’ old
                               grand daughter
                                 of my heart
                              sweetest part
                                of my life.

                                Summer time!
                                Great period
                                 to enjoy
                              the newest
                               loveliest
                                precious
                              wealth of mine.

                             Little kiss
                            of cute lips
                            heavenly
                           bliss of mine.
                         In my arms
                           as she comes
                          Just I feel
                          my greatest
                          sweetest charm.

Anacreontic Verse

I’m feeling so blue.
My tears fall
drip, drip, drip.
Eyes bright red
as the deluge flows
unceasingly.
My broken heart aches
and cannot be fixed …
such intense pain
so deep inside.
Why did you leave me
all alone,
expecting me
to soldier on
without you?
I don’t need
a photograph
to see your face
as it is printed
indelibly
in my mind.
Your parting
was so sudden.
No phone call
or letter
just intense silence.
Drugs took your life,
but your memory
will live on
forever.

Anacreontic Verse

 My last wet tears
stain the starlit sky
in cold frosted shades
As tangible fears
awaken sleeping
 distant memories
of aged hidden pain
 These mortified eyes
don't recall the tales
 my children now tell
of my past sad sins
In my dire defence
 lasting episodes
of assembling joy
never did escape
parent's cutting lips
A pale memory
fades in present days
I don't remember
teen tornado years
My acts of dark hate
left deep open scars
ones that never healed
I long to rewind
 grains of quicksand time
learn the art of love
perhaps forgiveness
will thrive when I’m gone.

The discouragement
                                            do not let go
                                              Every step
                                          on this journey
                                         feels unbearable
                                        The mountains rise
                                        - give me strength
                                         Saints and justice
                                         salvation and love
                                        Crawl for the truth
                                        settlement with sin
                                          a face - a facade
                                           My body hurts
                                        - but I do not care
                                        One of the weapons
                                            looked innocent
                                        But, price very high
                                          an inner struggle
                                            The heavy air
                                        must be blown away
                                      Empty gloomy thoughts
                                        - discouraged to fall
                                          A place to breathe
