Premium Member I Have a Dream

i dreamt for awhile
im walking down the aisle
with eyes watching alongside
as they look at me as the bride

their eyes spark in admiration
breath and a moment in cessation
i walk in slow motion
feeling each step in exultation

holding my bouquet of white roses
my face beaming senses
of pride; of nervousness; of joy
as this my day: MY DAY

nearing at the end
a man offering his hand
a dust of magic wand
that, finally we'll be one

i am his..
he is mine..
we will say our vows..
not later but of now..

ill look deep to his eyes
he will see nothing but love...
we will share our first kiss
the time will seize..

A Lull

The weary and gloomy moon
Droops alongside confident mountains,
Tries to stay until noon.

Clings to the boundary, slipping down
Being hidden but not wanting to hide.
To time, old moon is bound.

A longing, endless.
Sad moon surrenders to the horizon, daylight lessens.
Less ends of light to grip; reject regress.

Dull moon falls west, sun rises east.
A longing, a chase endless.
The pursuit is a beast.

For the moon craves to collide
With the eternal flame it is infatuated with,
That’s why we see high tides.

The moon’s heart lies in the sea
Becoming swollen
Wanting the sun to see.

The moon, lonely,
Is in love with the sun.
Always has been, always will be.

From the Belly of Africa we Rise

we stirred our cauldrons in earthy heat
buck and goats gave sweet meats
stories around bonfires our grandma’s told
holding us close dearly, as we boldly unfold

across brown hills we trekked with our shields
seeking fresh rivers and green hills for yields
found wild red roses as we danced with drums
porcupine quills giving us thrills, alongside plums

across Africa’s heart we bled our treads
found our queens, their tribal dresses intact
hands were painted, herbs on their heads
everlasting were ancestral wisdoms a fact

myriads of flora and fauna gave us inspiration
spiralling our spirits across continent’s populations
rainbow dues blood red with orange sunsets
emerald were hearts until we reached the north

here crimson held cobalt and pale blue hues
peacock feathers fluttering fell into wild heather
often we held reviews, as warring tribes withdrew
rise was our inspirational purpose, wearing loin leather

from belly to heart to throat and foreheads
immaturity an impetus for evolutionary expansion
our whole was greater than sum parts with four legged
adventure, surrender, boundlessness our
                                   satisfaction ~

Premium Member If You Love Me Really Really Love Me You Will Praise the Lord Together Always As You Love Me-

This woman asked the man... she said if you love me
If you really really love me you will put me above
 the other women
And if you love me really really love me
You would praise and worship God alongside me
And if you love me really love me a church attendance a spiritually and physically one
Should never be mentioned, for it shall be automatic
As for you shall lead me and us you and I
Together we will fly it as singing we dance in Harmony praising our Lord and King
And if you love me really really love me you put no one else above me
You will just only just love me
You open the door doors for me in the spiritual altar
In turn you will he will turn on the lights of the Moon and never falter
You will carry me my Body, Spirit of soul and bring me in your arms to behold
You're walking in God's pathway
As we look down on the highways
And if you love me really really love me
We would hold hands and pray and sing devotionals
If we could we would try all day
And if you love me really really love me
And our thoughts we would win
Because we were aware this fateful Grand
Hallelujah! We have crossed over as we sing
if you love me really really love me
You would pray together we would be forever
And if you love me really really love me Hallelujah!
We praise the Lord our internal God r
We know this for sure because we really really love him
Together as we praise as man and a woman we shall so and do honor to Him
We love Him we really really love Him our Lord God all mighty...

No Floaties

Reined it in twice to bear witness to the gravel reveal.

A secure stronghold lay beneath a few hundred feet of silk sand.

All that needs doing is the digging, then downward slinking from stair to stair.

Allowed passage, Luggage plus one carry-on.

Must I carry on? I must carry on. Carry it on, strap it on back no matter what ton.

My youngin grows, yet

Over shoulder, holstered Atlas-sized boulders.

Still, they over-shared, under-cut a sought after cost.

Upon others splurging with shopping sprees or new tennis tees.

All this while unleashing

unleaded things on the back of a relinquished me.

Involuntarily perhaps

or

otherwise maybe.

It’s best to get better grips

in the face of occasions such as these.

These handles for those dire situations,

while at it get some tassels for em.

Close to chest worn like a cut(kutte) carved to vest

with genuine leather, stitches together

with your ‘no one gives a damn’ effort.

Drone to roam from broken alongside lonely homes.

Trapped in tomes,

distorting imageries

presented in passages a showcase spectacular.

prize pieces, show pieces, priceless pieces.

Making up both mine and your

economic critiques.

On the conference call way up.

Mystique Paraguay, paragliding spectacle

Turned specter

when down wind a down draft

drastically changes

trajectory

to equal

Tragedy.

Alone in a life threatening ocean.

If it wasn’t meant for me then whose it have to be?

Zero paddle.

No Floaties.

Adjust Alongside The Weirdness

Everyday, we wanna keep on working...
Yet life's ups and downs continue...
           Putting up with various means,
To grow as much as we try,
              With more or less income,
               Expenditure matches up,
                The daily joyful stress;
                  Slumber puts to bed,
                    But won't go away.
                     Not just for once,
                     Unless if death,
                       Puts life off,
                        Forever by
                        The edge
                         Of time.
                          Aside
                         Footing
                        Our bills,
                       Hangouts
                    Are awesome,
                  And super cool.
               Though good times;
              Having fun with friends...
            To some seems of waste;
If not many, a waste of bills.
But for real, we crave for its miss¡
Young and old wishes rest on mind:
Daydreaming of its faint lines' clues...
That draws mind away from thrilling vibes-
With only money on closed minds zips' sighs!

Stupid Damn Cat

Stupid damn cat

Attempting sleep on the balcony, a railing at my back,
twisted iron creating stripes on my flesh.
Crisscrossing as I slide atop a Craigslist mattress
collecting in folds of faded striped fabric.

slightly used

Moon beams shift direction,
west becomes east (ah east) on a northerly glow.
Dry leaves gather at my feet, dead but still with some color left
extending beyond shadows now painting me with sculpted patterns.

security lighting

Small slits where my eye lids blink find the neighbor’s cat
now chooses my chest to sharpen its claws.
A quick swat sends him flying,
taking small pieces of my skin as a trophy.

starting from scratch

New scars eventually seek old scars,
I can feel them reaching, (blood trickles on wrinkled fitted sheets)
digging through my skin, exploring the muscle,
the tissue, finding the damage done may be permanent

sliced open

Tunnels carved into my body, wormholes to a different dimension.
Time passes beyond the depths of my being, flooding streets
and low water crossings with the pain (excruciating), echoes holler,
holding the volume to a dull roar.

strange sounds

A siren in the distance startles me, breath leaves me as I sit up
reaching for my chest, nothing is there.
Alongside me you sleep, peacefully
I touch you, you are real, a smile finds your face.

so very beautiful

And I thank my lucky stars for sleep (finally),
Knowing we are here, it was just a bad dream,
as reality is left outside, two stories up
on a balcony with a twisted iron railing . . .

I Love K Food

I love Korean food
K food

Ever since I first
Encountered it in 1979
When I joined the Peace Corps

Korean food is somewhat like
Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Thai
With some American influences as well
and lately Mexican food and Turkish food
And Italian food have made an impact

But it is also unique
Distinctive
And delicious

The essence of Korean food
Is the complex interaction
Of the main ingredients

The aroma of chives, fish sauce, garlic, ginger, onion,
Eggs, oyster sauce, green onion, sesame oil,
Soy sauce, red pepper paste, tofu, vinegar, sugar
And other spices and herbs,

Creating a symphony of flavors,
Scents and umami spiciness
That stimulates my appetite
And make my mouth water.

Korean food is traditionally served
With steamed rice alongside
“banchan” side dishes

Including the famous Kimchi
Pickled fermented cabbage
And a main entry,
Either beef, chicken, fish, pork,
And often a savory stew as well.

One of my favorites is budaejijae
“army stew” that dates back
To the Korean war era

In a pot filled with kimchi, and tofu
Add some chicken, hotdog meat, spam
And often cheese and boil it all up

And serve over rice
Wash it down with copious
Amounts of Korean liquor
Soju drunk Russian style
Straight shots.

Premium Member My Cloud - By Andrea

Floating in the sky, I love my fluffy cloud.
Sometimes other clouds accumulate,
drifting toward my own.
Hey, that’s okay. I don’t mind the company.
Everyone should feel as good as I.

Achieving small successes,
 I am feathering my cloud.
But my cloud is not alone.
To achieve its heaping towering effect,
I depend on clouds of others.
The more I work with them, I can achieve,
and soon I’m lifting, with them, to a higher plane.
I’m buoyed up and riding high the sky.

Sometimes clouds arise that fill with rain.
We all have our moments,
but there are some who seem to stay
constantly on clouds of gray
or hardly will allow the light of sun.
Others love to ride on thunder clouds
sitting close to earth and looking sooty.
They might try to bring me down.
but I’ll not try to hear their constant rumblings.

If your cloud is low and dirty,
you might think to hurt my soul,
and push me from the cloud that is now a part of me.
I say , Hey, you, get off my cloud.
You can play alongside me.
making pretty pictures all the day
while wafting through a sea of blue,
but first you have to earn that puffy cloud!
I won’t let you trample on the cloud where I reside,
for my cloud is my protection,
my comfort and my self-esteem.

Premium Member Music From the Abbey

Keep illumined,
Under the bright 8 o'clock
Skies of the Northwest.
Shouts of "lemonade!"
Are peppered with music from the Abbey
Behind the house I now call my home.

This poem moves
With the stretched-out days
Of brisk summer evenings
With the passions that once pressed
Against me with the "what's next?" sprint
Alongside motoring buses.

Though these days I stop.
And wait for it.
Still and bent back and looking out
Onto my new street named, "Motor Place."

The action outside of me now:
Like a humming tuning fork
All about my paralytic mind.

I let go. Months ago.
And so it went.

I sit now like a lighthouse might.
Shining without method,
Thoughtless radiation.
