Legal Eagles

'Oyez! Oyez! Oyez! all stand,'
said the bailiff before remand,
as legal eagles had looked for loopholes,
flaws in the law,
large enough to lose a lorry,
is that what they became lawyers for?
If I had taken their advice,
blindly handed out to me,
I'd have gone directly to jail,
if not in a trice.
Attorneys, barristers, solicitors,
ambulance chasers,
searching for victims
so they may litigate,
seen one you've seen them all,
what's not to hate?

Renewal?

Who would sell that which they do not own?
Who kept quiet that truth not be known?
Who betrayed souls their faith now uncertain?
Who moved devils behind a secretive curtain?
Who empties His houses in the guise of renewal?
Who shattered its victims with lies and betrayal?
Who conveniently had loss of common sense?
Who eluded punishment expecting others to do penance?
Who dismays and dismantles the dwindling flock?
Who empties memories trading reverence for shock?
Who scoffs at laws specified in their own cannon?
Who pays their council with large sums of mammon?
Who has squirreled away substantial resources?
Who deems such is needed to fund other courses?
Who will litigate estates to take from rightful heirs?
Who does all they will yet maintain that they care?

In clutch of loneliness she wasn’t alone
For grief always readily came along
When her happy path destined for love
Detoured sadly to lovelorn mirage.

He was an affluent handsome man
Yet, wealth of life he didn’t have
Being fueled by an unworthy heart
Poverty of thoughts reigned inside.

She found love when love was elusive
But elusive was the love she found,
Though she chose a budding ruby rose
Alas, its splendor had prickly thorns.

Summers of bloom she longed for
Agonized in gloom of monsoon storms,
When colors of love autumn invoked
Trees of joy shuddered in wintry throe
And leaves of affinity began to fall
Spreading glumness on pristine lands.

Silence she endured spoke volumes
When solitude starved for dialogue
And harmony of voice echoed discord
As overtures to reconcile faced a wall
While everything right, yet so wrong,
Left her feeling she doesn’t belong.

Passions her own, warned of trespass
When unrequited lure yearned romance
Attempting to litigate a case long lost
As hope of despair mocked her heart.

Consistency

"Consistency"
by: Eric L. Boddie

Contemplate, debate hate
Rate state magistrates
Mate great fates
Wait....date late
Deflate straight weight
Emancipate inmate traits
Dissipate irate gates
Indicate! Investigate! Litigate!
Incarcerate? Degradate? Incinerate?
Rejuvenate! Captivate! Demonstrate!
Innovate! Motivate! Fascinate!
Anticipate! Dedicate! Articulate!
Communicate....congratulate....exonerate
Infiltrate....penetrate....interrogate
Implicate! Detonate! Annihilate!
Separate? Segregate? Disintegrate!

Premium MemberThe Ultimate Prize

The Ultimate Prize

There are failures who express truth as the belief in others
And litigate with Jesus Christ to absolve themselves of blame,
Because success to them is in the visions of jealous minds,
And their approval valued as if they control destiny.

Foolish heart; set your sight upon God, and place love above pride,
And be not a worthless flutterance grasping for altitude:
Set for yourself the ultimate prize and seek eternal life,
And shun envy’s definition of Christ from misleading you.

At the guest’s table, earthly treasures you believe the answer,
Where consequence of decision is discarded as irrelevant.
At a predetermined time, your compromise will be rendered,
As your demeanor is exposed and intentions declarant.

In the halls of justice, mercy is extended by forgiveness;
Look in His direction with confession a prerequisite.
Wary entrapment and do not company with the faithless;
The ultimate prize of eternal life is the gift Jesus gives.
                                     ***

Lessons Lectures In Love

You weave wondrous webs with words
Practice percolate perfect & perform
You spin sexy synonyms secretly seducing sanctions
Litigate lustful liaisons languidly

You school this student serendipitously
Tormenting teasing tantalizing
You acquire avant garde aptitude
Cautiously coaxing committed candor

You reward religiously rightfully
Manifesting in momentarily madness & mayhem
You devise in detailed determination
Her ****** in opaque oblivion
