Premium MemberThe Super Positioning Meaning Of Life

Poised-
Now It's Poisoned
Now Nothing...

Meaningless Trash.

My Poem Was Started
With A Laugh
But Something Else
Too.

I Forgot.
That's Funny.

I'm Glad It
Was... And I
Think I ...

Don't You Think
The Emptiness
You're Focusing
On Fulfilling...

Laughs Better
Than You Can
Possibly Remember?

Premium MemberOne of Us is High on Life

One of us does not
laugh at the other

One of us asks
“What’s that light?”

The other responds, elegantly:
“My reading light I use
to keep my eye on you”

One of us thinks that’s funny
One of us does not

One of us is high
on life
One of us is not

Premium MemberHardened My Heart

Hardened my Heart

I tried to be soft hearted
warm, funny and kind
but it never ever worked
for this old heart of mine

So I hardened up my heart
learned to be more tough
knowing I was never ever
going to be enough

Love I never found
it never came around
I was used and abused
so I stood my ground

I gave up on the life
I thought was for me
I hardened my heart
and it felt more free

‘You get what you give’
and I gave a lot!
a saying not true
so now I’m not soft

Love passed me by
dealt a raw hand
A loveless life
not what I planned.

Premium MemberHarvey's Dental

in this funny house
smiles reflect by a clear pool
white gowns run the maze
extracting caries for cash
drilling down to build up crowns

Premium MemberLove is Like This

is lighter than a board
and stiff as a feather

Wait…”strike that
reverse it”
Thank you, Gene Wilder

I don’t know anything worth knowing
I was a literature major
a century ago

my strength
just might be
in not knowing

In the time of Shakespeare,
the wise man was the fool
and the fool knew something
about everything

I am proud to call myself
the fool
of an honorable life
of forgetful jokes
and less than funny
one-liners

“I have become a virgin”
Yes, Cate Blanchett

I have become a virgin
and the queen of pentacles

My life is mine
greater than England

Premium MemberPonder

When pondering life, it is sometimes harder
to see the beauty and joy, than it is the pain
and grief because pain is bulky and dark
but I do my best to focus on the light and joyful
moments both when they happen and in looking
back upon my life, yesterday I laughed out loud
when I had a memory of something my youngest
son did when he was about 6, he was a riot
and memories of him are often funny
Which is what I choose to ponder. Laughter
and joy is welcome here to be pondered and
enjoyed while I still have life to live.

Premium MemberSatisfied

That Isn’t
 A Very
  Satisfying
   End.

We Forget
  How A
    Punch-line
      Works.

You Had
  To Rush...
    All Very
     Obligatory.

Lucky You.
   It'll Tickle
     Your Funny
        Bone!

Endlessness.

No Credits.

Stop laughing and help me.
You just wait till I get you.
It's not at all funny.

Premium MemberSleepless Nights

Sleepless Nights, I have trouble at night and don't sleep very well. The doctor gave me, funny colored little pills. Life gave me, counting sheep one by one. The bible gave me, counting my blessings one by one. WOW!!! counting blessings really works.

Premium MemberA new genre

is always
possible

I think everything
is funny
from the right angle

and life is enjoyable
well-rounded

I had fun
at the Dollar Tree
and made the cashier
cackle with me
when I told her
how tiring science
is at this point in mid-May
and what would be much more fun,
fully charged

this feels right
right now

Premium MemberThe excruciating reality

of thirteen years of marriage
is that everything is funny
and nothing is romantic

it is sometimes
nostalgic

like dancing to the credits
of a movie
in a theater

before we ever made
commitments

Premium MemberHARD KNOCKS-

Hard knocks, a child runs fall on the porch into the door

A Hard knock on the door, it's the police
A Hard knock on the I've been lock out
A healthy play outside, seek a d hide
A playing hard child, running wild full of fun, play and water
A hard knock on the door, cause he's got to potty

Premium MemberBorderline Opinion

When Borderline
Characteristics
Become So
Acceptable,
Even Normal...

The Borderline
Naturally Expands
Itself To Suit!

There You Are
Funny Again!
Hilarious!

It's An Infinite
Expanse, With
No Borders,
Unless You
Think So.

Funny.
Borderline!

Sometimes Moderation
Must Appear As Extreme
When All Else Around
Has Reached It's Own
Relative Extreme...

That’s So Funny!

Who Knows The Center
Of Endlessness!

Premium MemberThere isn’t time

for tea, or appreciating sunsets,
or finding garnets in the river
before I turn forty.

There isn’t time
for another funny poem
about marriage and parenting
a preteen,
analyzing
my aging eyes,
or my aging knees
before I turn
forty.

There isn’t time
for cinnamon incense
or spying goldfinches
on tall evergreen
branches
on the last days of March
alone

before
I
turn
forty.
