He Called Me Lazarus
Twas the day after Easter when my Cardiologist said,
“Good morning Lazarus” as he entered the room.
You should no longer be here but among the dead,
but a miracle has happened displacing all gloom.
From sixteen fluid bags that on a drip frame hung,
And in seven days God’s tally was only one.
Even some Doctors had God’s name

Allegory Of Lazarus And The Rich Man
The ending of your salvation
Is the ending of your life
Like Lazarus he's very poor
He wear sack cloth, he's sick
He only eat the crumbs under the rich man's table
The rich man has all the things in life
He is famous, he's powerful, he's respected
Death is the equalizer of life
Lazarus died, the rich man also died
Lazarus died angel

Into the Light of Day
Lying in the dark
Three days all alone.
Seems to me my heart
Is cold and hard as stone.
Don’t know if you’re coming
Or you’re going your own way.
Waiting for your gentle word
To bring me back into the light of day.
Silence all around me
Still, I’m not concerned.
Soon you will have found me
And bid me to return.
Everyone is listening
To all

The Lazarus Q'd
4 days wondered
and wondered,
wondered why
for days wandering,
left far behind
in that desolate place
the staff shepherding
the long Lazarus queue
black sheep
woolen hearts
woven together
like tight poems huddled
all together, knitting
all the lost together
the rod cued
hits the ground
like a lightening strike
lightworlds away
lightworlds arrive
risen again
running with words in

Lazarus
One day I fell ill and apparently died.
My sisters were grieved, one found Jesus and cried,
"If only lord you'd been here this day
Our brother, your friend would have not passed away!"
In empathy and love Jesus tears weren't spared
And all could discern just how deeply he cared.
After a prayer to his father all heard Jesus

Lazarus
His name is Lazarus, the brother
To Mary and Martha, the two
Who love him more than any other
Always sure his light would subdue
His heart is filled with a yearning
For the peace that only comes to those
Who share in a relationship, a burning
For the Savior who one day arose
Lazarus, too, came back from dying
Not defeated by the

Lazarus
In Bethany, a truly tragic tale unfurled
When Martha and Mary, lost their whole world.
For their brother Lazarus, so warmly dear-heart-ed,
Fell ill and died, leaving all hope lost and departed.
When news arrived of Lazarus' plight,
Jesus set forth, swift as the day turns to light.
Four days had passed, and the scene was grim,
But Jesus bore remarkable faith,

Lazarus
Lazarus was dead for only a few days
Nothing could wake him it says
not even the tears and the weeping
even the loud groaning and moaning
with his final breath he blew out his candle
He was sealed in a tomb
like a prisoner in chains
sentenced to solitary confinement
All seemed lost like a sinking ship
Yet a man of miracles the

My Name Is Lazarus
No doubt
you have heard of me,
but it's doubtful you'd
want to be me.
Just think.
What if you were me?
Just consider that
You were dead.
Just imagine
Coming back to life.
How would you feel if it was
said of you, "By now, he stinks"?
How would you feel if you were just
preparing to meet Methuselah, Abraham,
and Moses, and just like that, you

Miracle Man
2/22/2023
Good morning Lazarus,
were his first words voiced.
Then immediately with tears,
my eyes began welling.
Twas one day past Easter,
and I sat there unvoiced.
Thoughts rushing from my heart,
that were compelling.
He was referencing the day,
God had rescued me.
I think back on this time,.
when prayer warriors pleaded.
Then from the pangs of death,
“Miracle Man”

Lazarus Beans
Head cold
Gets old
Night rough
Nose stuffed
Wake up
Ache up
Eyes fried
Eyes pried
Somewhat
Glued shut
Nose snot
A lot
Annex
Kleenex
Rough cough
Head off
Bad hack
Attack
Slow scene
Feel mean
Suspect
Day wrecked
Not well
What smell?
Detect
Inspect
Take heart
Jumpstart
God’s bean:
Caffeine!

Amnesia Lazarus
Scrub away the remnants of
emblazoned colours that have
mixed down to mud.
Settled in pore.
Scraped through every crease.
Dead finery clings in layers that
have fused over years, bringing
me closer to a man I don’t know.
Brittle skin.
Exposed to morning air.
I cut myself open and count
the secret rings of my idiocy.
If I dress this wound that mimics
a smile I
