Into the Light of Day
Lying in the dark
Three days all alone.
Seems to me my heart
Is cold and hard as stone.
Don’t know if you’re coming
Or you’re going your own way.
Waiting for your gentle word
To bring me back into the light of day.
Silence all around me
Still, I’m not concerned.
Soon you will have found me
And bid me to return.
Everyone is listening
To all that you might say.
Waiting for your gentle word
To bring me back into the light of day.
Sisters stop your weeping.
Brothers, don’t complain.
It’s really just like sleeping
And I can feel no pain.
Though I am now hollow,
A vessel to be filled,
A miracle will follow
I’ll rise and do your will.
Lying in the empty
Nothing else but space.
Believe me, it is tempting
My death to just embrace.
Yet, I hear you calling
And all will be okay.
Waiting for your gentle word
To bring me back into the light of day.
Look at me, I’m rising
At the power on display.
Waiting for your gentle word
To bring me back into the light of day.
