Stones left unturned for those that seek truth among the urns.
I care not to seek out answers requiring a life’s sacrifice of family and name.

Secrets revealed. Kingdoms rise, then disappear. Buried beneath silicon dunes of unrefined glass. Reflected back a whisper of their past.
The abyss now lay claim to their lands.

Endless cyclical tides, wash ashore smashed relics of a time long forgotten.
Blending perfectly with tumbling mollusks and stone.

But, all too soon. Quicker than we think. Our bodies reduced to boney fragments. Charging towards some beach.

Stones left unturned, are left better unlearned. History unfolds lessons, that are left better; alone

Home

There sits along a well traveled road, a house forgotten so long ago
Brown faded logs, bleached from hot Summers seasons
Stand proud against its kindred trees

Its roof top still shelters the memories it holds
As the stack from a chimney serves as anchor below

White linen curtain now tattered and soiled
Snag against each splintered pane

The lattice now gone where roses once thrived
Bountiful garden, now scarcely alive

Cupboards lay claim to a family of six
Nestled and sleeping among their beds wove from sticks

Barn owl now perched, as it waits for the shadows too grow taller
As the daylight grows dimmer with each passing hour

Strong against the test of time, a house is still standing
Very much, Still alive

Standing strong against the clearings

America has become a theater,
with actors galore.
Daily, many “wanna be’s”,
are flocking to our shore.

Some lay claim to being,
the best in their crowd.
But when push comes to shove,
they become purse-proud.

Only when advantageous,
does this become fact.
It’s not what people say,
but the way many act.

Trijan refrain

Grief ascends with the rising moon
   'neath frosted Winter skies
A lone wolf howls, wailing a rune
   desperate for replies
Her mate has died, she must lament
beside him 'til last breath was spent
   Parted in death
      Parted in death
His body torn, tattered and rent

Grief ascsends with the rising moon
as thorns, it pricks my skin
There is sorrow in the wolf's tune
   My emotions akin
To shadowed darkness we lay claim
Eyes cold without a spark or flame
   Feeling such pain
      Feeling such pain
Love, it's you I seek to defame

Grief ascends with the rising moon
   Haunting my thoughts tonight
Who do I blame and dare impugn
   with defiance and spite
I would caterwaul to the wind
if death's warrant I could rescind
   His life restored
      His life restored
No longer would I be chagrined

Premium MemberI have a question

For everyday, did I dare to dream,
Of love, of life, of soulful things,
Where blissful words had made serene,
The hearts of all, both far and wide,
Afraid to harm for many had died,
Yet, for man, finds, less peace inside,
A nightmare, made real, blazing across distant skies.

What reason, be made for death abroad, where men and women lay claim, in name, of this one and most silent God?

Did he not say, "Thou shalt not kill?"

Did he slip or stutter, did he mis-pronounce?
Did he not say "love each other?" And what other, had he ever renounced?

No one less, no one more, no one wins in senseless wars,
Scores left wounded, by unbias swords, all for God, made silent, amongst these most spiteful hordes.

For all who walked, upon this, his path, not fear, nor anger, nor wrath or hate,
Only peace unwavering, and undying faith.
For all our books, our words and songs, can we still not tell, right from wrong?

Premium MemberOh, Let Us Write

Oh, let us write of gentler things
Still wondering why “the caged bird sings”*
Or rise upon a thermal shaft
Of feathers drawn upon first draft
Or watch the sullied surf subside
As clean-up crew of ocean’s pride

Oh, let us dull the razor’s edge
And loudly sign a silence pledge
Deny the forest’s right to live
While sharpening the traitor’s shiv
Or are we but a single voice
Muted by the rising noise

Oh, let us cloak our metaphor
In words both good and bad adore
Hone it with sarcasm's wit
So both sides will lay claim to it
And chuckle as our pens run dry
Our ink the tears that poets cry

Universe is beyond comprehension
That dark far off void away from our sphere
Midnight stars and moon are like extension
On night of perfection, they seem so near.

We might lay claim to our moon and its glow
But darkness beyond is not understood
Where does it end? perhaps we'll never know
Earth's spinning alone in all likelihood

Adventurous man forever seeking
Hard to believe we will stop at the stars
Deep dark void is calling so intriguing
With high expectations, lift off for Mars.

Beguiled by the notion of endless space
Universe waits for distant man's embrace.

Gird Up Or Else

Writing cheques beyond notes with distant memories of coins
Was to be your place until you couldn't gird your loins
For as soon as you are within the reach of the heights you aim
The darkness closes in on you to lay claim

Gold and silver only trail a good name
Made out of refined character and a worked gift
Let reputation precede and define your fame
Survive the sift, wade the drift and honour the lift

Dont Join the Delay Train

You all should know my aim:
To hit the lasting fame.
I wasn’t made a lame,
Not, at present, Old Dame,
And great prizes could claim…

Men who to Peaks lay claim
Forget not strength would wane:
The once fleshy turns “Cane”
Exciting bubbles ‘Pain’,
Much labour “Little Gain”
The Sane “A bit insane”:
Soon, Towing Van with Crane…

Not washed away by Rain
Here, there or in Bahrain.
The whole shame, the whole Stain…

Don’t join The Delay Train.

Oft-Times I Wonder

Mindless Musings Over Morning Coffee

What Is Wrong Or Right?

Whether It be dark or light

Be it in…or out of sight

Wrong or right is neither

Truly Wrong or right

It all depends upon

One’s point of view

Perhaps Unique to you and only you

Perhaps shared by more Than just a few.

Wrong or right are just opinions

That’s hard to wrap one’s around

Formed, molded, conceived

Under different conditions

Mass murderers, Parish priests

Both shaped by fate to say the least

Both lay claim to knowing concisely

With exactitude, what precisely is

  Wrong or right

It’s fair to say most know right from wrong

While at the same time acknowledging

The hard truth that right and wrong are only concepts,

Beliefs and opinions held in one’s mind

And nothing…absolutely nothing is truly

 Wrong or right

I believe the roots of love differ,
Between men and women from the start.
Though while generalized and inexact,
The fruits yield a common harvest to the heart.

With men it seems physical attraction is
Needed, to arouse his predatory pursuit.
While the woman must admire and respect
Her suitor, beyond the visual tribute.

Often times when these are lacking,
Any love once built becomes lost.
Whereas neglect may lay claim to the
Atrophy, only to be measured at great cost.

Humanities culture compels this recipe, while
Some seasonings add variety to the meal.
Yet regardless of the male/female interaction,
The family of mankind will survive . . .
        And spin the wheel.

Something To Ponder
 Miracle Man

Unburdened by truth,
we exist at a time in history where social media
has become the predominate way to perpetuate falsehoods.

Much time is consumed on social media,
concocting some story or passing on an untruth,
where its easy to berate, cancel, and spread falsehoods
without fear of consequences.

A time when those who have are called privileged or racist,
and many who have not, feel entitled.
We live in a time when our phones lay claim
to more time than does slumber.

Things that are said about, and not to,
in most cases should best be left unsaid.
