Lady Tua, frequently look in the pond,
but who may tell her ladyship?
That turbulent water shows no reflection.

The irony of free verse,
Is the lack of freedom shown.
To freely use,
The style we choose,
To make the work our own.
For what is free verse anyway,
But evidence of naught?
Your scenic side,
Is not a ride,
That anyone has bought.
The writing lab that nurtured you,
May tell you love is dead.
But then, again,
No tongue, or pen,
Is suitable, but red.
The emperor was marching,
In a matching suit and tie.
Or so he thought,
The clothes he bought,
Were catching to the eye.
Her ladyship was speechless,
As the emperor drew close.
When suddenly,
A boy of three,
Said “Daddy has no clothes!
If nobody is on your boat,
The sky is just as blue.
The ocean breeze,
Is sure to please,
A one-eyed cat or two.
The sea is for surrender,
But the verse is always free.
To write your song,
And sing along,
With love from you to me.

A toddler laughs in a subway car.
Teens do not look up.
They may have toddlers at home.
Old lady smiles. That’s me.
Mom of toddler tries to get him to shush.
His laugh comes out as a squeal of pure delight.
Pierces the air with pure happiness.
I turn and see an old man glaring at toddler.
Axe murder I think, in the nicest way.
He turns and glares at me too.
I stick out my tongue.
Old ladyship has her perks.

Bright yellow sun, a stroke of noon’s delight.
Long shadow rays, the arms of time’s true North,
Embrace the golden meadow’s xanthous light.
And in her eyes, the specks of joy burst forth.
Amour of daisies blush, like lemons squeezed.
A vitamin to please his ladyship.
Her lids receive in bow, froth light has teased.
A parasol uplifts a shady drip.
Strong arms do touch the heat of love’s remix.
The song of beastly flowers reach for sky.
Her guard lets down. She drops her tent of tricks.
The prettiness illuminates her eyes.
The beauty and the beast outsmart the dark.
Like lightning strike, high noon set off a spark.

Mary Marion Williams, is one of twenty three,
rescued and surviving the North Atlantic sea,
Fate is a fickle friend, to have upon your side,
For if destiny is written, there’s no need to have a guide.
Mary believed in fate, so had no fear at all,
when on that dreadful night, the steward gave a call,
“abandon ship, we’re sinking” he rapped outside her door,
Then suddenly ,an explosion threw her to the floor.
She did in no way panic, Just picked herself up and dressed,
Paused for a moment, to root inside her chest,
she was struggling up the gangway,as the ship began to list,
Fate again was there to help, when someone grabbed her wrist.
Do not worry ma’am, a voice above her cried,
I am not, she said I know I'm safe, for fate is on my side.
she was helped to a lifeboat, by a member of the crew,
and looking round, she found she’d joined, the other twenty two,
Fate took a hand again, for our lucky ladyship,
She was picked up the very next day, by a Royal navy ship,
Who just by chance or maybe fate,
Happened to be passing, upon that very date.
This poem is a work of imagination, any likeness to persons living or dead is purely coincidental.

On board the

And his

His

He came to

Blood sucking

How do you
win against
the soulless

They do
possess a
weakness in
their spiked
defense,
Look for their
durian head
leader and
dance,
For god sake
not the
Saturday
night fever!
Nor the
moonwalk or
criss cross
jump-jump!!
They are
cousins of
zombies do
the
bogeyman,
And than
you'll see all
of them fall
down,
Quickly now
before they
wake eat the
