Toddler Laughs In a Subway Car
A toddler laughs in a subway car.
Teens do not look up.
They may have toddlers at home.
Old lady smiles. That’s me.
Mom of toddler tries to get him to shush.
His laugh comes out as a squeal of pure delight.
Pierces the air with pure happiness.
I turn and see an old man glaring at toddler.
Axe murder I think, in the nicest way.
He turns and glares at me too.
I stick out my tongue.
Old ladyship has her perks.
