I took the car out
on a gloomy evening
& drove along
the A9
people busy
with farming &
harvesting before
the heavy
rain
cattle
being taken home
before the
nightfall
boys naughty
flying their kites
up in the sky
still
crazy, crazy, crazy
buses
drove faster
passing my
lazy car
hot, hot, hot
hoppers being burnt
& served & shared
by two of two
wayside trees
big, huge, gigantic
weren't to be seen
where had they
been
the lake filled
with water fresh
made room to fish both
the day & night
a candle's
being lit to honor
a hero dead
for us a long time ago
- The A9 Highway is a 321-kilometer-long (199 mi) highway in Sri Lanka, which connects the central city of Kandy with Jaffna, a city on the northern tip of the island. Due to the battle, which took place for nearly 30 years it got damaged. As a result, people were unable to use it. Just after the battle, it was re-opened. People have the opportunity to use it as they wish. A9 is believed to be the symbol of unity & friendship.

There's a castle in Duluth
Made out of sugar cubes
And the moat that flows out front
Is filled with soda pop
Fruit that grows on trees
Is the finest in jelly beans
In the nearby spring fed lake
People swim in grape Kool-Aid
The streets where those people live
Are cobblestoned with M&M's
In their houses made of brick
From different flavors of licorice
With picket fences in the lawns
Constructed out of candy corn
When cotton candy clouds
Move in from the South
The crowds open their mouths
As the skittles come raining down
The days are always sweet
In the Kingdom of Kandy
Where the King and Queen rule fair the days
With scepters made of candy canes
In their castle of sugar cubes
This Kandy Kingdom of sweet tooth's

Bring me excitement the fun of the fair
Roaring with laughter at the fun house's mirror covered walls
Excitement at riding the merry go round
Acrobats juggling, you just cant help put stop and stare
Tombola prizes tucked under arms
Hotdogs with onions, and mustard stained cloths
Tickets to ride and memory's galore
All of the laughter and music combines
Kandy floss moustache's on pretty girls smiles
Illuminated stalls with there flashing neon signs
Nothing compares to a night at the fair
Great for your soul and it leaves you breathless for more.

From Kandy to Bentota beach a road goes on and on,
The road is curvy, road of people, country road,
That scarcely seen is from the westerness.
From Kandy to Bentota beach this road goes on and on.
The jungle on the right and left, the jungle everywhere,
That rarely stopped is by the fields of tea,
The only order that one finds out there,
The one and only link the natives with the out world share.
The curvy road goes ever on as to the end of days,
But slowly straighten its meanders for the human joy,
As if forgetting jungle roots and meeting life anew,
It from the jungle into cities to eyes slowly strays.
You do not know when jungle ends and when the beach commence,
All that you know when you arrive at the Bentota beach,
Is that the jungle paradise is far away from reach,
You should have stopped and turned around when you still had your chance.

They bake cakes and pies for the individual.
For years, eating their products has been a ritual.
They bake butterscotch krimpets, and chocolate cup cakes.
Their pies include apple, lemon, and blueberry.
What about peach, strawberry rhubarb, or cherry?
We can’t forget chocolate and peanut butter kandy kakes.
Whatever they sell, their goods have what it takes.
The fresh varieties amount to a plethora.
How lucky you are if you live near Philadelphia.
