From Kandy To Bentota Beach

From Kandy to Bentota beach a road goes on and on, The road is curvy, road of people, country road, That scarcely seen is from the westerness. From Kandy to Bentota beach this road goes on and on. The jungle on the right and left, the jungle everywhere, That rarely stopped is by the fields of tea, The only order that one finds out there, The one and only link the natives with the out world share. The curvy road goes ever on as to the end of days, But slowly straighten its meanders for the human joy, As if forgetting jungle roots and meeting life anew, It from the jungle into cities to eyes slowly strays. You do not know when jungle ends and when the beach commence, All that you know when you arrive at the Bentota beach, Is that the jungle paradise is far away from reach, You should have stopped and turned around when you still had your chance.
