A Jolt of Love

A single line appears, a flash of white,
A blinking cursor, a familiar sight.
But the sender's name makes my heart take flight—
A tiny "heyyy" lights up the night.

My cheeks turn pink, a blush so deep,
As all my quiet fantasies leap.
A little "wyd?" makes promises to keep,
And from my face, a silly grin creeps.

Just two short lines, a digital start,
A tiny jolt that stirs my every part.
The screen glows bright, a work of art,
And every hope begins to play its part.

Pulp wrung out of sunset squeeze
   Chinese dragon clouds
   make mandarin marquees
   Purple curtain shrouds
   Folks without homes nobody sees

Electrified skies spark dust to flare
   inside a vacant apartment
   Twilight society’s fabric tears
   Cringe crimson impairment
   Wealth shields from irradiated glare

Wishing star stuck in limbo, catapults
   daydream sun, distant flung
   Pigeon sprauchle sudden vanish jolts
   Mortified moon, hopes hung
   Crusted blankets magic carpet vaults

that that is held dear
believed as eternal
blown away in a flash
causing anguish
yet dispelling delusion

how fragile is life
and relationships
we are truly hypnotised
attempting to hold onto
wisps of smoke

after the hug and makeup
with all well again
we see a sabi sabi stain
as a reminder of destruction
and by grace resurrection

although in some cases
there is no sequel

A Sudden Jolt

A sudden jolt

This is a tale about a cluster of hopes and burgeoning despair
Tossing and toasting flinging blankets
Wiping rolling down tears with his sleeve
Countless hours flew by this wakeful stormy night
She has been ill lying in hospital for days and days
Dying or still has few more breaths
Brings her sweet face before his eyes
Ever caring, faithful, innocent and simple
The tenderness and warmth of her hug
He always began his day
With greeting of her sweet smile and a hot bed tea
Her hands always busy tiding his household
Without a grumble or gripe
Shared his grief and sorrow as if her own
Shouldered braved the fate’s storm
Today lying in her bed helpless ignored
Withdrawn and far from the warmth of his embrace
Parting still without remorse or guilt ;
He frowns, sulks, struggles juggling his mind
Perspiring, breathing heavily
For days he is dreaming
Waiting for that eventual day
Will that pretty girl with dashing personality, he met in the mall?
Accepts his proposition after She is dead ?

Static Electricity

Static Electricity
Gives quite a jolt to you and me
It will attack without a sound
Unless we both find common ground

Athletics Jolt

In the Year two thousand and seventeen
athletics world certainly got a jolt
something they shouldn't have ever seen
defeated hero, the amazing Usain Bolt,

eight men over a short distanced battling
for a gold medal in the world championships
beaten by athletics villain, Justin Gatlin
jeering and booing from sad people's lips.

Gatlin may have won race and gold medal
spectators all over the world ready to revolt,
not willing to support an athletic rebel
especially denying hero, Usain Bolt.

Jolt

It’s not the act of sacrifice
That inspires me to fear
It’s not the compromise
Or the narrow path
It’s the act of praising a god
Who travels through time by
Word of mouth
Depending on those
Stubborn hosts
Who never stray or stop
If you crucify the unknown
You may leave marks on your own soul
Leave it burning because you are afraid
Fear of no faith is better
But fear is not faith
And you will burn with your crosses
Once the world makes its last rickety
Jolt
And comes to an explosive halt
What he did for you may cease to matter
But not to Him
It’s the only thing that will still matter
To Him

A Rejuvenating Jolt Is Needed

In my dreams I see myself happy,
Without a care in the world,
Family and all packed so tight,
Smiles that feel bright like the sun,
Never knowing what it's like to fight.

I know when I awaken,
That emptiness seems to dwell,
In a heart that feels shriveled,
Plastered together,
With the stitches that try and hold it,
After it was broken.

This heart has taken many wounds,
Inflicted over past loves,
Memories that it once held,
Seemed to have just burnt away,
Washing away the ashes,
With times rippling tide.

Rebuilding itself,
Knowing that the dream will be real,
Hoping that true love shall find it's way,
And cradle my heart in it's warm embrace,
Breathing life and meaning into it,
So that it shall forever beat.

A dream is only worth dreaming,
When it becomes a reality,
And without that reality,
Life can not exist.

With your breath save me,
With your arms warm me,
Jolt my soul with your kiss,
And seal the deal with your love,
Because eternity shall not destroy,
Because this love was meant to be.

The Same Jolt

i felt it again
the same jolt
usually i see it coming
but tonight
totally surprised
caught unaware
almost as if
you forced me to feel it
you held me
for only seconds
but it was different
it was hard and tight
more intimate than
you inside me
i felt it again
