jaunty jack-o-lantern joined
jingly jangly janitors’ July jamboree
jaundiced Jasper, Jack’s jackhammer
juggled and jostled the journey in jovial jollity.
Jovial Jukebox Julep juxtaposed Jasper and Jack’s
jonquils, joining the July Jubilee
Javelin, a jazzy jaybird, jangled Judy’s jaguar,
who jabbered jokingly and jauntily.

Chamois soft and diamond strong
kitten cute and tigress tough.
Childlike as a robin's song
and yet complex, strangely enough.
With you gone I always get antsy,
out of sorts and not-so-jingly.
With you here I feel romancey,
dancy, spry, and neck-hair-tingly.
The prize of your eyes a daily surprise
into their liquid grace I'm gazing.
You truly make our love lovely
and life's twisting maze amazing.
Like the fresh air a cool spring rain gave,
like a soak in a tension-soothing spa,
like spray from a warm Caribbean wave
you leave me in total ahhh.

A brilliant moon casts its mellow glow,
O'er fields covered with glistening snow!
Skeins of geese fly on high silhouetted 'gainst the moon;
The scene is all set for a sleigh ride, so very opportune!
The sleigh has been shed of a years build-up of dust,
And its runners have been waxed, a requisite must!
Dashing Dan was harnessed with jingly bells of course;
For generations he's drawn the sleigh, this gentle and faithful horse!
Mom, Dad and the kids snuggle 'neath quilts warm and snug;
"Giddy up" says Dad and Dan leaps forward with a gentle tug!
They sing 'Jingle Bells' and other Yuletide tunes with joy;
Dad reminisces about sleigh rides with his Grandpa as a boy!
They sip mugs of warm cider and coffee to ward off the chill,
Hailing others with 'Merry Christmas', wishing them goodwill!
Arriving home and after Dan was stabled and the sleigh was stowed,
They sip cocoa nigh the hearth to warm up from the cold!
Precious memories were met this night for future family lore,
As they anticipate next year's moonlight sleigh ride once more.

Into the street he sauntered one day
Might be his last, no one could say.
Wore a sassy Stetson, chaps and spurs
ring-jingly things, with raucous burrs.
A silvered six gun pressed his hip
a tiny tremble dressed his lip.
Tough as nails with firm resolve
he hoped this battle would absolve,
a hidden weed of secret fear
(kept to himself, so very near).
With nerves of steel he ambled along
his sober thoughts a mournful song.
It was not very far across the town
to the scene of the big showdown.
When he reached the square he gave a shout
to a lurking foe he yelled, “COME OUT!”
But no man breached the lair’s cold door,
so he lifted the latch, chilled to the core.
His enemy glanced up, with face in mask,
our hero blanched, crushed by his task.
His quick draw hand was not advanced
but a warm foul liquid filled his pants
For in the hand of his fated foe
was a killing tool, he’d soon come to know.
“Mommy!” “Mommy! “Mommy!” the gunslinger cried.
Thrice he pleaded, but was denied.
For the quest he faced was not for thrill.
It was the dreaded, droning, Dentist’s drill.

Outside the city where the pomegranates grow
Inside the doors where the bowls brim in a pink glow
Beside the river where your warmth melts in my shiver
There I would like to release my red birds in blue quiver
Birds playing perching pecking and penning lyrics
Birds leaning lavishly on the lovely luscious lychees
Jingly the waves arrive at the bank looking in purple envy
At the drunk birds satiating their lust in the chocolate glee
Open your dense door for I have to write a poem right now
Come on the dance floor or the river shore as you choose
Whisper in my waiting ears what poems you wish and how
The air is tipsy the moments gypsies please do not refuse
Come dear, time passes, my words are in a marvelous flow
In the starlight where my pomegranates expectantly glow

For Christmas
I like boats and planes and trains,
But for Christmas I want candy-canes!
No dogs, no cats, no acrobats;
For Christmas I want fancy hats!
I want it all; ribbons and wrappings,
To be carried by pigeons, of course not lacking
In holly and jolly and jingly bells,
With candles and flowers and things that smell.
The fairies will fly by my window,
With dresses and gowns of deep indigo,
Their sparkly trail leaving wishes for centuries,
Their soft charm blowing spirit through the trees.
For me; I wish that what I could give,
Would fill Christmas with happiness so magic can live
But for Christmas, all that I want is quite plain;
For Christmas I want candy-canes!

Pocket Change
Extra Extra read all about it
How many senators and/or congressman can you name
How many faces do you recognize in the tabloids
and don't you wonder how much their paid
by the lobbiest
I'd say
this should be public information
right in front of our face
maybe it is what do I know
but I'd say they've got it made
our tax money probably little more
than their jingly little pocket change
but who really knows
except those playing the game
and who could recognize them
they could be standing right next to us
in the grocery store check out lane
does anybody but me wonder
how they can escape great fame
they rule the world
along side the fall guys
set up to take the blames
and they all laugh at us
probably because we are noting more
than their jingly little pocket change

The cloudscape changes
and floods excited crowds of sunlight
on a patch of playful sea,
turning fat green hills
into toyful bumping buses.
The wind turns her back,
shows me her cold white legs,
striding away.
The land is blackgreen,
the sky is dark coffee;
there is no exit sign.
She rips open the sky, the wind,
with a naughty laugh,
she breathes sea sand through my hair.
I do love you after all, she sings softly;
old apricot flavoured philosopher,
you ancient jingly bag of thoughts.
I love you
even though I cannot take you
yet
