Jerkily Poems | Examples

Cough

The troublesome throaty explosion
For which demanded is handkerchief
That helps to hinder hell’s diffusion
By the thoughtless simple man or chief…

The oft-followed by a dragged-out gob
The owner sends straight to nearby soil:
What had tried to chesty freedom rob
And a whole day for sufferer spoils…

A scurrying for antibiotics
Or soon, the chest shall be again heaved:
Haphazard gestures of semiotics,
The jerkily thrown off guard retrieved…

The attacked with, first, expectorant:
Syrupy stuff that keeps it at bay;
For cough’s accursed cause a search warrant,
In one’s airways delightful free way…

Cough’s innocent picture throat-clearing
Yet, muffle for a laughter rearing…

Capsule of disguised danger warning
For one you wish to see, next morning…

House Plants

At night they grow wild,
change color
awakening their shadow forms.

A Purple Wandering Jew
sucks moonlight
through a hollow stem,
it wants to drink
and it will,
rain sings to it
on roof and windowpanes.

A Weeping Fig droops
but come nightfall
it will dance naked,
limbs held wanton and high.

A Dumbcane
watches a Spider Plant
jerkily cross over its silhouette.

A small nest of foliage rustles
as a potted petunia
flexes its green sinews.

All prepare to enter our dreams,
not as delicate blooms,
but as floral dragons;
Chinese whispers of the snapping kind.

For the Age-Free Adult

Imagination is free
Take the Happy Choice Ride
Set all else aside
Without a should or ought
Pick your happiest thought.

Imagination is free
A no fee happiness spree
Attend The Smile Resort where fun is a sport
You can do strange things so merrily
It's only for you; no one else can see.

Imagination is free
A happiness only zone
Only unconditional love is known
Let pure silliness be shown
Funny clothing custom sewn.

Imagination is free
Act jerkily and do not care
No one will ever stare
Take a stroll to Euphoric Square
Have yourself a ball over there.

What Is Life

What is life.....

Life is hope. Life cannot be lived without hope
Knowledge is the essential ingredients or
mix which keeps hope alive.
Life is not a race against time but a precious gift.
Therefore, with hope and knowledge life should be
ridden to its goal.
Man by his very impulsive nature could end his life,
like the face of coin where heads you win and tail you loose.
The two sides of the coin shows the Jerkily and Hyde personality
of person where good and bad abides in you.
Through hope with experience gained through knowledge
you should steer life and keep your head up in extreme bad
situations in the cycle of life.
When hope is firmly anchored in your soul, life could
weather all situations even in the stormy conditions and
sail to a bright future.

Child of a Slave

For the umpteenth time
the sun burned
and barked the earth dry

Trees stood bare like skeletons
Far away, the river moved slowly along its banks
the vultures flew low and high
surveying the scene below
heaps upon stacks

         a hyena's feast
     copious of it
it's a joyous festival

The staccato sound of the laughing guns
Jerky jerkily ….
reigns on the land
Thirsty for blood
and flesh too…

Across the seas
on the telly
the scene captured and splashed
for the stone-cold eyes
on dinner tables
drinking champagne

Cheers!

as they celebrate
the birth of another child of a slave

That's Life?

Red White and blue
Stripes and stars jerkily rise to the top of the pole.
Stop wave in the wind flap flap flap
Then still unfurled lower slowly
Colors contrasting with misted greens in back ground trees
Stopping at half mast
To hang waving toward the waiting earth
His hands wrap the lanyards fast
Close the cover
Slip on the clasp
then drop to his thighs.
Three hornets
Wing out of the box
swirl ignored around his head
Then return to enter
under the re closed door.
For his absent friend
Death has begun to
Firmly settle in.
