Janey Poems

May days
merry in an iridescent coat of spring
for girls in flowered dresses
jumping rope
one at each yellow handle while two dart in and out
their laughter and chants bounce in unforeseen direction

"Janey and Johnny sitting in a tree
K I S S I N G
first came love then came..."

"skip, skip, skip to my Lou
skip to my Lou my darlin'..."
more chants that snap in step with a cardio zing

girls run in and out of an airborne rope
skip, count
skip and count
like keeping time while the rest of the world roots
                                                                    in trouble
careful hops like dancing 'round good luck pennies
the snap of the rope smacking pavement
                as if filling a void
till sunset fits broad, passive shadows to faces
     smirking
silvered by the zestful push of youth
till one day girls step through the rope
                             without a pause
to come to want different things

Picking

Heavy summer

After the month of Rani i hold my mothers hand
I asked for a story she making me bore with my childhood which I had been listen
She then laughed and said I will tell your kids
We sat near a tree
We open our box it's full with some types of delicious taste suddenly I got to know their is not minerals of juices or water
Uhh Uhh we blame each other but whom to ask bangles of lu is out
Silence for while
I took a stone and hit the tree it's coconut under which we had picking
After so many try I found it's not so height so some how I climbed and trash bunch
When I looked down I shot maa how could I get down aasman sey gira nariyal paied par aatka? She said wait I will call someone
Janey kaab aaeygi?

Premium MemberSearching For Sea Glass

On the last Thursday before Labor Day

Janey and Sue-Sue sneak down

to Alison’s beach in Harpswell

to slam bottles against the rocks at low tide.

Only tinted vessels will do like blue Zinfandel

and violet Riesling. I always switch to Bombay

for a day just to vary the hue. One time, Cyndy

crashed the party with some veined cobalt china

and Kristin imported a verdant Tanqueray to the smash,

All for the honky-tonk next summer;

the riot on the rocks, when the ardent hunt

for sin-worn shards of blotted treasure resumes,

certainly, enough to coax belief in Pirate skulls

from unwashed seasonal guests.

Bring your own lunch; there will be melon

on carnival trays and blondies from an old umber tin;

and we’ll dip ourselves in noon tides

while our sweet dappled mysteries

drift back in, and we search for them.

Premium MemberHigh On a Daydream

In another life my name's Mary
And you're my one and only Janey.
In another world we're always together
Like raspberry jam and peanut butter.

In this life though, you're sadly so
Much more something like a brother.
Still, I'd rather indulge myself so
By giving my bread a good smother.

Teri Yaad

Teri yaad

Muskurahat mai khoya
Baat dil Mai liye arman
Dhakan hai naraz
Janey kaab hogi mulakat
Taman hai jo ban gayi
Badua Dori ka ehsas
Kagaj mai chipa hai
Waqut ki phehchan
Kachdey ka deheyr
Toota hua dil na
Mangey koi payar
Aab suno kasi hai tumhari
Yaad ..........
Like the shadow walk
Like the nose cry for smell
Like the moment stop
Like the road devide
Like the lips lock
Like the painting fill with nature
Like Mai hi puri hai Teri yaad
I love you meri jaan

A Compelling Spirit

A vision legendary among Native Americans...
glimpse her in your mind’s eye
   young Shoshone woman
with a papoose on her back
   stands on a precipice
   surveying the wild panorama

Her presence treasured by these explorers
she who guides them across the west
      human drama wraps around
         Sacagawea-- destined to survive
      in her people’s imaginations
      so enigmatic, simple, safe

Envision this mysterious legend--
   a female, intelligent, pregnant
   walking along the Yellowstone River
looking as if a native princess
   translating to the tribes
   fearlessly saving the expedition

To notable explorers Lewis and Clark
Sacagawea is survival
Captain Clark calls her “Janey”
how he values her acumen

If you listen, you can hear her...
   in the wind she whispers,
"Everything I do is for my people."
watch her walk into the misty morning
   pursuing the future

Janey 16 Days

You were the color among all the gray
Words left unsaid so much I have to say
Your wings that spread kindness I can't see
Since you flew away whole again I can't be
You were my true savior my only light
Shined you always did ever so bright
Never afraid to rattle someone or fight
And all the memories flood my mind tonight
Unconditional bond tied tight together
A loss of hope and happiness so deep
So long I've searched by there's no other
My mind does wonder if you know I still weep
Janey so many close used to call you
Stories you shared with me when you wanted
The way you spoke I knew they were true
These tales and you my memory they haunted
Like a guardian angel to protect me forever
To try and forget you and them I could never
Sixteen days which existence has come to an end
Yet are still here and hard for me they all have been
Your blessed light you inherited right onto me
The only way I can still see you is in my dream

Watching the Enemy Float Away

Janey Jane ran around with Rocky Rock
Ohh was he handsome, the girls did they flock
Swiftly, Jane’s hair she did cut
Kay ran, laughing off her butt
Jane then smirked, as Kay fell from the dock

Janey

janey was always making a mess
she would go through the trash
she was always covered in paint
she liked to play in the mud
she needed to be blessed
when she was looking she found a new sash
she needed to be praying to the saints
she always dressed like a dud
