smashing waking hearing scream
wonder i dont snore
down here on the floor

THIS IS OUR CHAALO
This is not the lubiri
There is no electricity,
This is not the city
There is no sigiri,
This is our Chaalo,
where we are all buried.
You won't hear the rain,
this is not mabaati;
You'll learn to cook grain,
there is no mugaati;
This is our Chaalo,
Where you got married.
You will blow into the smoke
But you will not choke;
You will run after a cock
Or have nothing to cook;
This is our Chaalo
Where you got married
Those Toothless jaajas
Are your silent judges,
And those drunkard koojas
Have been here,for ages;
This is our chaalo
So you shouldn't be worried.
These are our people
Most good,most evil;
They will sharpen your knife
And call you their wife,
But this our chaalo
Where we shall raise our children.

Invisible to the naked eye
traumatization (courtesy
chastising and reproaching -
by fellow classmates
and later in life
birth parents and inlaws
dealt hefty figurative jab)
tremendously impacted yours truly
analogous to him moving bajillion miles away
compounded by his withdrawn demeanor
diagnosed when he reached middle adulthood
as schizoid personality disorder,
thus exhibiting obvious developmental delay
bullied courtesy nasty brutes,
who scapegoated and rejoiced
with hip hip hurray,
meanwhile I experienced
terrible psychological melee
escaping to safe confines of bedroom,
where I wanted to stay
for mine remaining years of life.
Retrospective review
now approaching my doddering old age
constituted more'n one cruel (cheap) trick
played on super tramping urchin,
who traipes across virtual global stage
ensnared within whorled webbed wide
spending his hard earned itty bitty wage
spinning one strand after another.

the inlaws and outlaws have left
the turkey has so much less heft
got pies for the flies
and naps for the eyes
the icebox has suffered from theft
but
still got ‘nuff leftovers to make peach gobbler

Blood sucking leeches
They suck until you're blue
Robbing nectar from your peaches
From the day you say I do
They believe you want to fit in
Boy are they mistaken
You would rather swallow phlegm
Than eat the family bacon
To the females, you are prey
To the men, a face to lecture
Derived from a good lay
Preceded by a nice gesture
Once referred to as an outlaw
Rather than Inlaw, you see
Blinded to the stupidity I saw
They laughed hysterically
It's just how the cookie crumbles
After my third rodeo
Every player fumbles
No matter how great the throw

Things that live in webbed corners of our mind,
that lurk under our beds or in the closet we soon find,
love the dark of gloom, the delicious smell of fright,
fertile dreams edge into heart-thumping terrors of the night.
A simple closet changes into the portal between fantasy and real,
shadows manifest out of every goosebump and beads of sweat we feel,
logic switches off and imagination wakes and monsters rule our brain,
and suddenly we are transported back to our childhood once again.
Gone are the thoughts of inlaws, taxes and the many burdens we bear,
We now are riding dragons and vanquishing monsters of land and air,
Warriors of strength and valour, failure is not known in this realm,
For King, Kith and Kin, with sword raised, we cannot be overwhelmed.
As a child, we were hero, warrior and victor to damsels in distress,
we cared nothing for wealth, fame and the way we looked and dressed,
So come on Boogey-Man, Dracula and things that go bump in the night,
with our imaginations free and clear we will conquer you with our might!

When two people say I do,
they become apart of another family;
Often times the transitions hard,
and there is hostility.
One often finds it hard to accept,
the in laws for what they are;
Some can be mean and some seem nice,
some are just plain bizzare.
For me that has never been the case,
I loved mine right from the start;
My second Mom and Dad are great,
full of love with generous hearts.
They always made me truly feel,
that I was indeed their Son;
Around them I was always safe,
and together we always had fun.
I wouldn't trade my Mom and Dad,
for money, silver or gold;
For I have been blessed with two of the best,
may the truth be told!

in there blood, there they have a voice for all
goodness out and inside different. don't do
it don't make saints out of hospitals their
friends live like millions. give it away, they
don't give their last cent, they don't work
for nothing. give it away this work it will stop them.

I'm in a messed up kind of mood and it was one of
those days
Where I realize that I have no luck but in all the
worst ways
The husband that's never home, and the inlaws that
always are
What is family anyway, just people who will scar
It goes back to childhood really, I always just
came last
What am I really saying, that it goes back to my
past
But the truth of the matter is, I wasn't well liked
anyway
Always the second best and not first asked to play
Such a young age when I put the wall on my heart
Because of childhood lost and the family torn apart
Never wanting to learn, and not trying to succeed
But I played a good role at pretending to be happy
Just going day to day, living a crazy life
With every passing second just thinking I would die
All these bad things seemed to happen and I seemed to
only cry
Like I was born with too many feelings, and I had to
wonder why
Always seeming to suffer, and it gets so hard to live
Because the feelings that are lost, it makes me scared
to give
Maybe someone will notice, maybe they will see
That there really are some good pieces of me
