Black Fryday

the inlaws and outlaws have left
the turkey has so much less heft
got pies for the flies
and naps for the eyes
the icebox has suffered from theft

but

still got ‘nuff leftovers to make peach gobbler

We have a peach tree and still have plenty to make "gobbler." SO much better than market peaches. I pretty glad glutton day is over, i can't take that kind of indulgence anymore! (but I try;-) huggalunkins! ~j

This was very cool and so well written. Nicely done, nothing leftover but smiles from this humorous piece.

The stampede for the chow was loud...made all the cooks real proud...meat was consumed...until no more room...all gone in an hour I'm wow'ed ....they ate it all except half of a cheese cake is left.

I'm sure you know the old saying, "used every bit of the hog except the squeal." I figured I'd use the "gobble." Hybrid! like it:-)

Hi John, Lol! As usual you penned a entertaining write. However, your title was a bit misleading. I thought this write was going to about the" stampede " in the malls everywhere, hoping to get that big sale. Well done:-)Alexis

yeah, I agree, but I thought "the day after Thanksgiving" would be a boring title;-) Did you go get "stampeded?" I did...NOT! good cheer and gobbles:-) ~ john

Funny and entertaining but what about football? Cowboys now 9 and 1. That made our Thansgiving Day more than the food!

wow, got a flashback about Cowboy football. I remember about 8 or 9 of us young soldiers watching Dallas play one thanksgiving way back — we were huddled around one those early portable TV's — it had a 5 inch screen! Black & white. Was like watching an ant farm;-) Thanks for the visit! ~ john
