Premium MemberInforming Memories

Last night in bed as I restlessly tried to sleep
Every memory of you began playing in my head
The good ones when we would smile and laugh
Then the bad ones with the harsh words said

Those are the ones that gave me unrest
The pain from the crushing guilt was killing me
It was then that realized that it was never you
I’m the one who caused us both such misery

You had your complaints and why wouldn’t you
There was rarely a time I did something right
They made me feel like I wasn’t enough for you
With such anger I’d respond starting our fight

Those memories of you taught a real lesson
That has answered most my problems in life
I never loved myself so how could I love you
I’m who failed as a husband not you as wife

Premium MemberA Crimson Veil Shrouds What is to Come

"A crimson sky breaks the distant shore,"
beaming an omen from the opened draw.
Highlighting a warning to fear, abhor?
Or perchance, a delight joyously to adore?

Which way do I look and when, for this brainstorming.
To read the sky bathed in crimson blood swarming?
Looking left at dawn, I get a warning, yawning!
Looking right at dusk, I get delight, informing!

Red sky at night, red sky at dawn,
What lies between, as day is dusted done, then newborn?
For at both birth and death, blood is often shed forlorn,
spreading its crimson veil, upward into the sky to adorn.

What if I'm not a shepherd or a sailor?
But, a land-blubber, or a tinker tailor?
How should I read the sky's loudhailer?
Perhaps I'll sleep, and wait for the trailer!

Premium MemberDegrees of Soul

(Turkish DOBAG rug)

Degrees of Soul

Awhile ago I got a Turkish rug that opened my eyes
To what real joy looks like
Transferred to one’s work.

In this rug I could see the soul of a weaver
Proud to be part of a tradition
She added to with each delicate knot.

And with my eyes so opened
I could clearly see by extension
The degree of soul of each work of art in my home.

And the range was startling
From nonexistent to brilliant glimpses
Into the creative Mind of the universe.

After a few days my vision grew foggy again
And the soul of all these pieces
Became once more hidden beneath the surface.

The window onto the essence of the Mind
Had closed taking with it the lucid vision
And sense of connection.

I was left apart but never separate
From the knowledge that soul truly exists
It’s mark on everything we do.

The degrees of soul are everywhere like this
Subtle and informing
Flavoring what it is we call quality of Life.

And so we live and breathe
Taking and giving an essence beyond words
Even when unconscious clearly manifest.

LEFT OR RIGHT?

There’s a stalk behind the steering wheel of every make of car
To work the indicators (are you with me so far?)
Push it down to signal left and up to signal right’
Informing other drivers where you’re going day or night.
It isn’t rocket science, though I’m prepared to swear
That fifty percent of drivers don’t even know it’s there

The lonely wild beast

The wild beast roams alone,
Not so long ago did it have many friends,
It remembers the times they shared,
But all that came to an end,
After one fateful day.

Its friends had an argument,
An argument really bad,
All this the crocodiles noticed,
And pounded on their victims,
One by one.

They all survived,
But blamed the wild beast,
It could not defend itself,
Because its prey saw the argument first,
Informing the others they had a feast.

Its friends decided to leave,
Far away to the other side of the lake,
Leaving the wild beast alone,
With no friends,
But itself.

The wild beast tried to follow them,
And apologize for something it didn't do,
But its prey attacked it,
And it remained behind,
With no one else but itself.

Premium MemberApathy

we encounter a neighbour
who suffering from delusional dementia
he mumbles and stumbles in delirium
we pause awhile to assist
yet we know his disability is permanent
so apart from informing his kith and kin
who in any event are apathetic
there is nothing we really do

all around we see suffering and decay
something within us too is dying
or perhaps it’s already dead
as we become indifferent
to tremors in the void

Walk The Walk
Miracle Man

The most powerful sermon we can preach,
should be the life we live each day.
Visual can touch where words don’t reach,
and impact heart’s that are astray.

To witness is no more than informing peers,
of just what God has done in your life.
While silently praying that he / she hears,
and has a change of heart and void of strife.

Premium MemberTrue Best Day

In home room that morning
I found the folded letter on my desk
informing me of my election
to the National Honor Society

Quite a thing for the 11th grade,
I later found. Perhaps even
more for a stumbling over-achiever
on some redemption road.

There had been earlier letter...
one sent home in Junior High by a man
named Yonkee, who wrote my mother
of an academic malaise in my DNA

that was most certain to inform my future.
I remember her pleading face as she read
me his verdict. And so, that 11th grade afternoon
I stopped for the mail on my way from the bus,

subtly stuffing my honorarium in the stack
That second letter is still in my desk somewhere
filed away in a folder labeled True Best Day.

Mary Jane passed some eighteen months
after my delivery, and that vanished
world now seems so remotely mine,

but her faith is summoned, sometimes,
these later days when Yonkees of the world
 --see right through me--

Reading Between the Pixels

A photograph may look cute,
And lead us to prosecute,
But if you want my advice,
Literacy to the truth will help us advance,
With questions to entice
Us to read between the lines,
And look between the pixels.

If we want productivity to rise,
We cannot look at a picture and surmise.

If we want productivity to rise,
Only literacy will make us wise,
To the time we are wasting,
With all the pictures we are pasting,
With no room for words that should be informing.

Military Coup Erupts In Gabon After the Re-Election of Ali Bongo

Some senior military seized power in Gabon today,
Ali Bongo 's family led the country
in fifty five years under umbrella
of French  government as there were protected
The so called French interests to be on power.
Today  President Ali Bongo is informing
the world about his arrestation by the military.
He does not know where could be his son
and family as  they are in different places.
The senior military accused him of stealing votes
for third time so that he could  continue
to rule like a puppet of some westerners
While the people continue to suffer here and there.
Many young African leaders are tired of fake promises
of some selfish politicians who care for themselves
and continue allowing African natural resources
to cross the seas due to some agreement
 with some western countries
which could not reach  fifty years
after so called independence and democracy
in west and central Africa.
It is eighth coup d' états in Africa from 2020 to today
as many Africans wish some regimes change.
It will be wise for French government officials to say
loudly " good bye Africa as they are no longer welcomed."

Premium MemberAngelic

Where is the love you promised us always? Eternal love is
cast out of heaven for the angelic it seems—Quote by poet

It burns deeply knowing our ways of love aren’t angelic
Love’s awe emerges then torn apart as old as a Christian relic
It seems true that blessed love can only abide in its
eternal among the angels above and only in the purest spirits
We mortals find the gift of love can be difficult at best
Echoing passions of no forevers with no peace or rest
Awaiting parting and its end with such sweet sorrows
Pink coral sunsets no longer signs of golden tomorrows
To paraphrase Shakespeare’s sonnet, love which burns
brightest tends to dim the quickest—coal rakes and it churns
inside informing me that our ways of love are not angelic
Just to discover true love is as rare as a lost and sacred relic
