sometimes there are cruel masters
who sneer and inflict pain for no reason at all.
i do not know where they come from — why do they come at all — or where they go
and so i am always afraid.
today i awoke and felt anxious and sad
i wondered, “will it get worse?”
the sunlight is pure truth
and only that matters.
i sit outside and feel my body swell with its warmth -
birds are playing and fighting and singing as the wind
hurls them about.
we are warmed and illuminated by the same glowing, burning sun. —
somehow the sweltering heat reminds me of something
and i am not afraid.

Time flies so fast, and so do I,
Never knowing what happiness is
Yet I search for eternal places—
Still, I am fine.
Those who nurse a grudge
And Inflict their pain on me.
Never knowing what beauty is
Yet I search for eternal places—
Still, I am fine.
But I pause to watch
The dance of flowers,
To hear the chirping of birds,
The murmuring of leaves.
I choose the path less discussed,
Less drastic, less adventurous,
So, I am destined to failure
Yet I search for eternal places—
Still, I am fine.

My words cannot repair the dire state of the earth
My words cannot elicit new life and rebirth
My words cannot amend the abuse we inflict each day
But my words can still have power anyway
They can echo through the depths of your mind
Leaving the secrets of rehabilitation behind
They can sow the seeds of hope and fear
Pleading the case for this fragile sphere
My words may not turn deserts green
Nor may they cleanse the air unseen
But my words can relay the urgency of our needed care
To begin healing our home that is certainly worse for wear
They can reverberate through the veins of my city
Inspiring change and stirring up pity
For the story untold of a debilitating soul
Whose miniscule parts don’t care about the whole
Our world cannot tell us what it needs so we must assist
Every day we don’t do our part is an opportunity missed
This poem might not save the world, but at least it's a start
We might not have the antidote but at least we can have a heart

Terrorist Brother
By Cathrin Stuart
A bully is too kind a word to bestow
On a person who will stoop ever so low
To inflict pain and torment on an innocent
A person that is pure evil and malevolent.
Like a dung beetle he looks for crap
Always tending to for a slap
Then he hides behind big brother
To make those he torments suffer.
His younger sister could not escape
Beat and trapped her under stilted place
Bruised, bleeding, soiled she begged and pleaded
She must feel how in boarding school he was treated.
If anyone took him on for what he did wrong
Mommy and daddy would join the throng
Blaming everyone for his bad behaviour
Not accepting lack of discipline their failure.
Burning down classrooms or garages
Mommy covered and paid the charges
Stealing his parents blind or drunken threats
Excuses and pity they make with no regrets.
They protect their terrorist like he is something precious
Beat his wires, took their money, a parasite - heteroecious
Abandoned his daughter; to put herself through school
Yet you may not object to this person so cruel.

Why you are so hard on me
Dear darling J
You don’t want your G to see
Whom you love, you say
Every time I’m on the screen
And I love you too
Since the moment I have seen
Some of me in you
Out of sight and out of mind
Its an easy ride
You’ve another mind aligned
Of the family kind
How your two minds contradict
I don’t have a clue
I’m the one who you inflict
When its time to do
So I read your diatribes
Your critique I see
And I sense some different vibes
Coming down to me
But such is a gift you sent
Kind of New Year’s card
Thank you for the time you spent
You did well your part
I don’t have two minds, my love
But the only one
And I cannot get enough
Of your loving fun.

Jesus; he is Christ and he’s what Christmas is about
Jests and silly little jokes, some atheists will tout
Tests on shrouds would later prove a little inconclusive.
Tents would be too public for an imminent exclusive
Rents agreed for stabling when the virgin birth was due
Rants from Joseph, “Who’s this man who laid his hands on you?”
Mants inflict the Scot as statue’s eyes in blood do run
Manta rays glide ’neath the waves, where all life had begun
Santa, flies the skies above till Christmas Eve is done
[Mants = Stammers (primarily Scots)]

The Worst of Them"
Funny how you push me away
Only to beg me to stay
A vicious cycle, a toxic sway
Cut down by your words, day by day
The beating of a broken drum
Echoes the pain you've begun
Your love, an addiction I can't shake
Trying hard to quit, but it's a mistake
Your love's a monster, devouring me whole
Eating away my soul
You hold my hand, yet don't care
Killing me inside, with no repair
You show no mercy, no remorse
Did God make a mistake, or did you force?
A heart of stone, where love should reside
Put a hole in your heart, and maybe you'll feel inside
The agony you inflict, the tears I've cried
The shattered dreams, the love that's died
You're the worst of them, a heartless game
Leaving me broken, with an endless pain
Let go of my hand, and walk away
But know that you'll never see the day
When I'll be whole, when I'll be free
From the chains of your love, that's killing me

No immigrants allowed
no women either
no people with hearts
none of the suffering
my mind is full
of torment and pain
oh I could fit you in
of that have no doubt
no matter the insanity
I would never inflict
such horrors on others
the darkness ties my limbs
the pain, blood trickles
If only I could escape this
prison
I would love to smell the flowers
and walk in gardens
with all of you
in shackles of depression
there is a flicker of love
somewhere
out there

An eerie calm has been encroaching
as dawn's pale light approaches the realm
of what is usually a normal morning
but no songbirds are softly trilling today
They've all taken shelter from the storm
the one that rumbles ever nearer... she comes
One of nature's evil forces is on her way
a strengthening femme fatale I fear
has set her course due north
Her compass arrow pointed right at me
She churns Gulf waters and raises tides
gulping it down as if it were an elixir
from which her hurricane winds swirl
She comes to inflict harm and pillage
among coastal villages and cities
Not a drop of rain has fallen, but she comes.
No traffic can be heard, not a single word
from children waiting for a school bus.
It's declared a stay home from work day
Francine will rule our southern coast
boasting as her pressure drops
and nothing can stop her chosen path
Her wrath will be done... she comes
this evening, she comes for us

To mend a comforter have you ever ponder to be biases free---
After eight unique life stories, you will find at last, atlas, a recess to be cellular free
Btw,
Ozone and Viola will start from scratch again, to inflict punching or hatching, her three
Whence,
You will remember pascal, oracle and Miraculously miracle all are turning black
The Orion,
In Mid forties, you do not need nieces and nephews to play along face booking
Motherhood
You long for so long to genuinely understand ingenuity, that sparkle on dew drops
Pearls and petals
And prayer bids that glow in the dark, and you play hide and seek with a gone yesterday
They all, as they
Soar higher in voice over fading a far for a distant sound, as the sound of the pristine may
She never called my good name
I never heard my good name, too
They both called each other with so many, so others, bundled a soar, that does not matter
Anyhow, anymore.

R. L. SHERRIFF AUSTRALIAN POET AUTHOR SINGER-ACTOR
R. L SHERRIFF Australian Trump 2024
One could argue that immense personal dissatisfaction is necessary to inflict profound unhappiness on others. Instances of individuals causing distress often evoke thoughts of figures like Trump, and upon delving into the tormented lives of history's most infamous tyrants, the correlation appears almost inevitable.

When will we awake to the damage
surely we can see the errors
the harm we are doing or will
we stick our heads in the sand
like blind folks and wait for doom.
.
People are like sheep following sheep
not stopping to think just acting
not seeming to realise we kill
this beautiful earth that we
are supposed to look after.
All of us need what nature
does for all of us
The sky that gives us
both rain and sunshine
the moon that lightens dark.
But be aware of the damage
that we inflict daily
with our plunder of resources
not stopping to care
that they are not limitless
That we are polluting the air
slowly suffocating everything
plunging every living thing
into peril for without plants
we cannot keep balance
I cry out to all to change
so that we can leave
An inheritance to our kin
instead of leaving them
a dying earth

They surrounded me
With utter hatred
Flying in sting
Sting yellow jacket
Pain and swelling
Filled my hands
Oh what burning
These brilliant yet
Barbaric creatures
Can inflict upon a soul
My innocent composure
Was just trying to fix
Rotten wood
Devious yellow striped
Whipper smackers
Of ill will do they know?
Obviously or they would
Be equipped with
Some other form
Of defense by design
They say they can
Remember faces
Well two weeks ago
I filled their humble
Cantankerous abode
With foam sealant
Obviously today I
Thought I was safe
Little did I know
Pelted with flying
Carnivorous yellow
And black hellraisers’
They must have
Remembered me
Thank God for advil
And calamine lotion
The war will finish
Tonight at dusk
When my wasp
And hornet killer
Shall take back
My home.

Why would a vacuum suddenly want to be airy?
When I was in love, was your heart in a constant inquiry?
Why put on so much excitement, a sudden expiry?
How did I convert the Sun to Ice for your sake?
How did I stop you from drowning in the lake?
How could you, yet, treat me like just another intake?
And I did not see the smiles and hugs to fake?
What clause is false in love's terms and policy?
Why does your conscience need an Agency?
How do you see a melted heart as less fancy?
And how can yours be far from legitimacy?
The signs were there, how couldn't I predict?
How foolish was I to ignore my mind-heart conflict?
So much pain, how did I allow you inflict?
How naïve was I to now be your addict?
Fifteen questions I've asked, fifteen you must answer,
not from your words, but from nature and life.

Where are you staying these days? Are you doing fine? Send me letters.
One twilight hue rejoiced with the whimsical hand fan, bought from fair
How is that doing at your hand so late at night, like this? Send me letters.
Which page on the calendar is grieving with me, absorbed
Bright eyes, chanting gazes, yearn there as they adore you. Send me letters.
Which word muses along as hours pass, they play around as the day progresses?
Which memory plays it safe , whispering to be soaked in floodgate of the lovers’ lane?
Send me letters . Send me letters, Send me letters,
Or else, not any more words to forbid, cuddle time with oblivion to chime
The loser was this, me, who is relevant , there to be?
Even though I loved thee to find only mistakes with me. Mistake, mistake.
The gone astray dandelion, and the pollen, sprinkler delight within
My killer noises of the solitude, noon hours, through my five, What else , anyway?
In one life , wastage , how much of that will there be, anymore, anyhow?
One Beatrice , to inflict heartache, how much pain of that will there be, anymore, anyhow?
