Silence your voice
Suffocate the real you
Feel completely restrained
Be aware of all you say and do!
Just…to keep others happy!
He knows his laugher is reflexive,
often inauthentic,
a need to agree or
a way to paint clowns on speech bubbles.
Overused words, trite meaningless words
are tossed back and forth.
It's a conversation, a convention or
a blank-firing discussion.
"I must be going."
Words hang like luminous finger bones.
Later reviewing in his mind
what had been said,
witty ripostes are invented,
inserted.
Finer points of fine points honed.
He shuffles magnetic phrases
on a whiteboard between his eyes.
He begins to cough - a yak spasm.
His only remedy
is to keep talking to himself
as if the other person were still listening.
Have you heard of Fisher Folk
Masked and disguised
Often difficult to see
When in front of your very eyes
Some will see through the disguise
Once engaged in conversation
Others will never see a Fisher Folk
Blinded by their manipulation
Fisher Folk do not fish
In waterways of any kind
They only fish in ones psyche
Fishing…. human minds
Fishing information, only for personal gain
Needing constant compliments and praise
This is how Fisher Folk
Spend their devious, “its all about me” days
Also known as “Me People”
And other choice names
Pretending to show interest in you
When ‘Self ‘ is the name of their game
Some will never see a Fisher Folk
Being blinded by their camouflage
Others will see straight through it
Quickly seeing the mind sabotage
Fisher Folk are generally likeable
Often intelligent , charismatic ,smart
Though their interest in others is inauthentic
Not from a genuine or loving heart
When I depart this world
I will take with me
A heart abundant and bestowed with love and kindness
A fulfilled life lived happily
I know my words sound somewhat fluffy and light
Perhaps inauthentic, stock standard, corny or cliche
Yet these words l have written ‘ are solely my truth’
My lifes true meaning at the end of my days
A song we both liked once grinds-on,
a needle on a disc etching deep grooves
into mutual experiences.
The cat we once shared, died.
Our dog chased the cat in its leg-twitching dreams
until its old heart gave out.
The garden cherry tree toppled in a late storm;
when we cut its broken limbs down
blossoms fell like coral rain.
The garden we both tended to was never the same.
The song we loved is hardly ever sung nowadays
its tune un-played, Insensitive modulations
have twisted it into a jingle only heard in elevators.
I have kept the scratchy vinyl recording,
its lyrics now seem trite and inauthentic,
and we no longer believe
in timeless melodies.
Do it for yourself

Do it for yourself
Not for anyone else
The choices that you make
Will live with you forever
For everything we do
Is stamped upon our souls
It becomes part of our identity
From this life to the next
Say "No" to anything inauthentic
That does not resonate with you
For you have your own life path
You're the only one who can choose
Empower yourself right now
You deserve fulfilment too
Explore your hopes and dreams
Do it for your soul's future

I always try to think the best of people
Believe their intentions are genuine and true
Though today I’m questioning sincerity
Are hidden agendas behind what they say and do?
I am of a gullible nature ,soft hearted as well
Easily drawn in by friendly and nice
Never contemplating an insincere reason
Or that I would have to pay a price!
I get terribly disappointed in mankind
When insincerity slaps me in the face
By inauthentic ,selfish humans
“Who wound” leaving no visible trace!
the straight jacket
of convention
bring
random
consolations,
so
apposite:
the drawback
of the trivial,
underlined
by the inauthentic,
unruffled
by the marginal,
proxy-proof
in the schemes
of man...
distilled by the
sieve
of the commonplace
Enough about hearts and frivolousness.
I have sealed many pages with my mark
Of flowers and red and the bluest of roses.
Trees of green and blue skies
I have developed an intimacy with these words.
No surprise, I am an intimate observer
Sincerely and ever caring
I wear no disguise to try and sneak an
Inauthentic poem pass
Rainbows know I have had my epiphanies
I have listed horizons more time than not
Dusk and dawn how can I ever
Hope to carry on?
What for was I born
I love my poems as if they were my flesh
But what next?
I've written about love times and times again
Until I now wear her name on my sleeve
I should roam the planet searching for a clue
If this pen does not send poetic words
I fear I might wither into dust.
I love each word.
Lover of words I am the intimate observer
