The unseen maestro, the wily whistling whisperer,
Cunningly twirls a sway in the bending trees,
Dabs, daubs and draws impasto clouds in the sky,
Lilts, entices, leaves to dance in tune, as it whistles on by.
The field of grass compliant, bends to lithe gusts sly.
Laughing to tickling tongue secrets, beholden in every sigh.
The wind teases waves, torments lakes to ripples.
Their surfaces combed and drawn to rugged stipples.
The wily whisperer winds its way into cracks and holes.
Creating drafts that shake the drapes like ghostly souls.
Defying all attempts to block their breathy intrusion.
You can feel it breathing in and out, expiring confusion.
Oh wily wind, your whispers collude and unwind,
The peaceful slumber of earth and heart entwined.

Each brush stroke on the canvas
marks a moment in time
the artist left behind.
A fragment of thought expressed in
a line, a trace,
a spot, a dab,
a splash, a splotch,
a daub by palette knife impasto.
The brush a fleeting hand
expressing the artists
shade and light, color and flare,
texture and shape in composition.
It marks the way the artist paints,
to convey the image in a way,
where the parts are
much more than the whole,
like footprints
tracing the inception of creation.

stupendous silhouette of castle
piercing through hazy fog
reminds me of your shadow
as you come to meet me at twilight
mixed hues of spectral sky
reflected in dreamy water
in furrowed thick impasto
of amber and sandstone
are glowing ember
of your undying love.
Notes: Claude Monet painted a series of impressionist oil paintings of the Palace of Westminster, home of the British Parliament, in the autumn of 1899 and the early months of 1900 and 1901 during stays in London. All of the series' paintings share the same viewpoint from Monet's window or a terrace at St Thomas' Hospital overlooking the Thames and the approximate canvas size of 81 cm × 92 cm (32 in × 36 3/8 in). They were, however, painted during different times of the day and weather conditions. This one was during sunset. ( Photo and reference credits to Wikipedia).

grand garden at Giverny
are gems gorgeously
nestling near a warm abode
where golden path lies beneath
in thick impasto and rugged strokes
transforming terrestrial moment
into amaranthine beatitude
baggy brush movement
of varied greens~
transposing from soft geneva
to gecko and genoa
interlacing with periwinkle petals
blended with amethyst and magenta
unfurling paradisaical artist's milieu
teeming trees reflect
dappled sunshine
in exuberant flora
resembling your eyes
exuding ethereal joy~
every time you look at me

wild rushing strokes
of broad bristles
dominating seaside sky
of ivory and indigo
in thick impasto~
like our faded footsteps
along *Stroomi shoreline
Wild fiery grasses ~
deserted yet persistent
resembling your windswept hair
in times you forget the time
waiting just for me~
those desolate windows
are your eyes of blue
half awake at siesta
dreaming of my return

A lonesome magpie~
perching on a forlorn wooden stairs
on a snowcapped mountain side
spells serenity in the day light.
The barn house reflects
the pale lavender shadows~
a soft blend of chiaroscuro;
The thickened snow in impasto
reminds me of winter daydreams
of my love so far away.
The hanging frosty pearls
on dancing dainty twigs~
sparkling like chandeliers
in ancient sanctuaries;
Like the diamonds I keep
as a symbol of his promise
that one day soon~
he will come back to me.

Unassuming beauty of emerald evergreen.
Verdure cool patches of sombre sunscreen.
Flowerless soft carpets of impasto strokes.
The gorgeous mossy sponge .. vibrance evokes.
The gregarious green hosts.. fungi, frog, insect
The bedecked forest floors.. symbiosis perfect.
Soft velvet cuddles close....the roots and trees hard.
Light and shade brighten up....the dank courtyard.
The rolling stones all frown..they grimace.. in grief.
Can't we gather the Moss?..the beauty ..leaf by leaf !!

There is no rainbow here
the mind erases them all in fast succession
into some dull opaque gray white progression
until not a single image or dream re-appears.
Once there was a palette of colors flowing
a pastel sketch campitura upon the empty easel
unprotected each color fades in painfull recall sequel
poorly painted until someone else's picture is showing.
Bleeding down along the edge
every color fades each into the next
and with the camouflage of displays flexed
slip away the rainbow bloom wedged.
A couche glaze reflects the light
giving into saturated blends fugitive licensed blacks
wrapped in the haze clouded visions of dark grays stacked
with the memories that grisaille the night.
Now with each color faded, all of what was you and me
remains the untold story of impasto shaded hues
varnishing frame and canvas with the memory true
a sfumato memory that breathes air with tears to salt the sea.

Ideas and vivid images I soon find
Bristle and crowd my mind;
Stirred from sensations hidden below
Now on streaked palettes flow.
