Immolating Poems

Premium MemberSelf-Immolating Chickens

Self-immolating chickens for a cause
Now there's a thought that gives one pause
Perhaps they seek attention to recoup
 a brother lost
so careless, tossed
Monet and feather
thus joined together
a masterpiece and chicken noodle soup

H/T to David Kavanaugh for the title phrase, from his poem Perceived miracles

yeah, it was tomato, but a little poetic license never hurt...

Madam Make Sure

madam, dam, clam, trust, first, burst, earnest, surface, happy, pappy
under, thunder, falls, calls, pearls, swirls, light, night, though, crescendo
tender, embers, up, buttercup's

Madam Make Sure

Madam make sure you do not fall over the dam,
And at times be quiet and should up do clam;
Then always try to end up having a big thirst
For writing the most poems and ending up first.

At times, we were known to become slap happy;
Illon was the last part of name starting with pappy;
And they thought that a spell I had been under
After rain falls during the lightening and thunder.

On the floor a baby crawls and then out calls,
Down steps people do and over dam water falls;
We saw sweet girls wearing their mother's pearls
Dancing all around swiftly with a sundry swirls.

You may soon start seeing bright, silvery light,
Projecting from the moon throughout long night;
Then I constantly was caught in a crescendo,
Of intensity though immolating an innuendo.

Christmas always occurs in all of the December's,
When in fireplace can see glowing tender embers;
Of course for every down there is an up
And in fields you may find many buttercup's.

Earth's tidal river day
on universal salvation display

This indigenously wise place
New England conventional space
ebbs without yesterday
flows within today

Building forest skills
industriously clear-cutting slack
of co-infested character

Puritan souls
submerging and swelling
wild native nakedness enslaved

Merged with dark
thick-skinning
self-immolating
magic aboriginal music roots
satiating muse suffered bliss

Yankee hard hearts
confederating comfort's freedoms
idolizing golden age
peaceful privileged ideation

Integrity
accessible to each secular body's intricacy
and all mind full
empty sacred elegance

Empowering fertile core soul passion
swollen fecund pastures
swamping pleasant birdsong light

EarthTribe's salvific natural spirits
of surf-songed sight.

Alejandra

All the things I fear you have heard
Loving me anyway despite my oddities
Laughter exceeds every word
Emptying the worries I carry with me
Justifying me though I may be wrong
And helping me through in goodness
Never expecting me to be strong
Despite the immolating darkness
Remembered and never once forgotten,
Alejandra, my friend, the begotten

Quid Pro Quo?!

Ascending unto the fourth pinnacles auspicious plyth ~

To quantumly observe these plateaus regions of oeuvre

Molten monograms of monarchies scripted immure; immolating

These gravitating exhibits of perceptions inter alia

Past particles of meticulously latticed perplexities....

Dark Claws On Your Pools of Green

You lay there a broken hearted soul
Torn asunder by those most hurtful wounds
Harsh and painful they lay within you

As your heart flutters and your mind spins
They claw their way at you
No longer do you feel happiness
Only sadness
Only pain

I stare as I watch those dreaded claws
Watch as they rip open your heart
Watch as they tear away all that I cherish

And as I see you crumble under the pain
My own pain is re ignited
I feel it even more keenly than before

I can't stand it, you in pain
Him, that dreaded evil
Everything he does taunts me
Every word he's ever said twists that single cord of my heart

I'm coiled now, a spring,
twisting and twisting I continue
Soon it will happen, I feel it
Too soon, I will snap

It will not be pretty
It will not be healthy

Those broken pools of green haunt me now
Staring through my soul
Immolating all that is left of my heart

Those broken and torn shards are fading
Soon there will only be chars

Shadows of previous loves
Dark silhouette's against my huddling soul

Huddling against the pain
Against the darkness
Against those dreaded claws

But hiding only from those pools of green

The Vacant Frame

Self – immolating silence
softens the pain, an art of solitude.
Evening drifts to come closer to moon.
Night is summer washed.
Small stars are trembling
on blue waves.
The night climbs down
from the brown hill.

Agony of life filters
in your eyes.
Unspoiled tears leave a trail of liberation.
Sorrow was insipid in your dark book.
Possessing a blue surge,
a nothingness bloomed
into a smile.

Space fills the dreams,
coarse picture and empty memories.
The vacant frame holds only the waiting.
Centre was gone.
The boundaries have captured
the colorless fragments of thought,
dry bones.

Wicked

Remote from the equator, remote from all light
Lie victims in the hands of an angry man
Who sees law as wet clay, who sees the will of the people not at all
And the spring rainshower of life’s bounties as crowbars
The glory of one man erected like a pyramid upon bullet-riddled bodies and graves
An infidel, casting a midnight fog over the landscape
A black-magic sorcerer, spouting ancient wickedness and spells of confusion
Commanding an army patriotically blinded to all but the dark light
Immolating their countrymen for a moment of warmth
Raping their wives for a moment of pleasure
Sacrificing their country so he might be their king in the moment before its fall
History will set them on Libra’s ethereal scale next to devils and hobgoblins
And other fantastical beings of evil
They will be cursed in the name of a holier authority
Mountaintall bears will rend every ligament of their being
To the smallest indivisible jots
In this life or another
