Not Complex Huitain

We flirted simply with our eyes,
never really needing to touch. 
Kissed each other like butterflies,
when wind whistles gentle and such.
It really doesn’t take that much, 
now we’re trading milkshakes for sex. 
Lips always come through in a clutch,
lust at its core is not complex.

Thin Notes Huitain

How you moved through me like music,
nervous hands now strum a guitar.
This shy soul connected can pick,
I never could before. It’s bizarre.
These fingers will soon build a scar
that’s filled with the glow of limelight.
The dragonflies are what they are,
a breath of thin notes at midnight.

Carnage Huitain

On the pirate ship lollipop 
all of your sugar I’m licking.
So addicted I just can’t stop, 
at baseline my lips are sticking. 
A smile and bubblegum tricking,
cute with emotional damage.
The bulletin isn’t clicking, 
set a fire enjoy the carnage.

Timeless Huitain

I won’t ever bank on trendy,
I am here striving for timeless.
That crowd with a vision of me
when they see a little black dress. 
Hair and nails display the finesse
that translates to each pretty word.
Simple clean lines but nonetheless 
cursive’s curled drama is inferred.

Limelight Huitain

Lie to me but only on stage,
believe me I need to trust you.
I will be riding a rampage
if I have a reason not to.
Entertaining the payment due
is not a show you would enjoy. 
Prior to speaking catch a clue.
Leave it in the limelight, Playboy.

The Score Huitain

Deafening the score for spring break,
set off by the harp’s gentle voice. 
That pas de deux of give and take,
a fever pitch played with such poise.
There are so many twisted toys
 that masquerade as gentlemen.
Soft banter that clamors a choice:
do you want cheap or a bargain?

Winsome Chance Huitain

In a meadow of death a rose, 
our remains shed skin quietly;
Thorns fall out as we decompose,
A bit of you and some of me;
Feeding the soil triumphantly,
reviving a bloom of romance;
Caught the kiss of a honeybee,
fertilizing spring’s winsome chance.

Frizzled Huitain

Drizzle and frizzled hair crinkles,
such sounds demand a symphony;
Clammy cold showered with sprinkles 
there’s a vibe that says ‘Be easy.’
Stock up the wood burning fire place,
it’s raining I’ll send you a song;
Smoke creates a treble clef trace,
that rhythm will help you along.

Seasoned Entree Huitain

I can be something of a ham,
take my energy or leave it;
Here’s the deal I am what I am;
Imperfectly immaculate
is the vibe I aim to transmit;
Addictive I have no gateway;
Left so hungry with a tidbit,
come feed on a seasoned entree.

When I Heal Huitain

I’m holding onto harmony
with every shallow breath I take;
Careful I canoodle tightly,
one more step forward I could break;
I will not become a cupcake,
instead mirroring sugared steel;
You’ll need to do a double take 
to recognize me when I heal.

Real World Sedative Huitain

Knew just what she wanted to say,
that’s what she steadfastly believed;
Jazzed to write this poet at play,
clever words with rhythm are weaved;
No longer with that spirit sleeved
ghost whispers change the narrative;
Prose brighter than you had conceived
free from the real world’s sedative.

The Magick Of A Misfit Huitain

Candle wax drips calcified tears, 
riptides of dreams burst boundaries;
Drops become circles never squares;
Out of the box locked in a freeze
with rough edges it aims to please;
There’s no hiding their benefit,
claws can rip apart arteries;
That’s the magick of a misfit.

On The Mic Huitain

You must taste just like urban art,
all that swag dripping from your smirk;
Contours of tag lines show your heart,
a masterpiece with skilled brushwork;
So stylish with that nouveau quirk,
your scent won’t abide dilution;
With a word you drive crowds berserk;
On the mic you’re revolution.

Creases Huitain

Infiltrated each other’s soul,
now we are a complete image;
Neither of us given control,
conduits for this right of passage;
Restless responds to a cajole,
yes we are mosaic pieces;
The vision makes sense as a whole,
seamlessly blended soft creases.

Combustible Huitain

Discombobulated design
will allow the mind to hover;
Dig deep or walk shallow it’s fine,
you are left free to discover;
View, interpret, and uncover 
combustible pieces of soul;
Each one different from the other;
Such beauty in out of control.
