we met in glass jars
on the Beagle in the Pacific
I'd never seen anything
like you before, your hair, your smile,
your huggable eyes, thrown together
by beards and tankards
grabbed from every sun, but
you reflected curves onto my glass
and maimed my stopper for oceans
now we sit on different shelves
but I can still hear you sing
in the darkened storages
and that's more or less
how it was between us
for hundreds
if not thousands
of years

Premium MemberCrazy On You

If loveliness was huggable
I'd know just where to go
Right to you with arms stretched wide
I'd hug you nice and slow
You're the definition
You're the model of
Beauty in a woman
It fits you like a glove

Your profile in reflection
As viewed through the glass door
Is stunning to perfection
I'm left there wanting more
You have a smile that captivates
A stare that melts my heart
My dreams of you just do not end
You're living, breathing art

Remembering being a newyled.
Having our very own, first humble
Christmas tree.
And that special red dress you
were so very sweet to buy for me.
Better a dress, than a sled!

Very little money did we have,
But love a-plenty, I never missed.
With constant hugs, and so well kissed.
Hot buttered, corn, we both enjoyed.
You, my forever huggable bear.
Into your moonlit eyes, I loved to stare.

Suddenly, God took you home.
You are gone, forever, now.
Sailing in the sky, in a grand celestial bow.
Still, I recall our first Christmas, so simple.
Delightful as your twinkling dimple.
One day, to meet again, never to roam!

Premium MemberOakland A's Santa

Dearest Santa, lovely to see.
You wear a white, satiny suit.
How lovely you are!
With golden gloves and golden
boots.
Your face full of merriment.

Quite the sporty guy you are,.
Driving an Oakland A's sports car!
You are huggable, too.
Soft and oh, entirely lovable.

Trying to be the grooviest dude
in this wonderful town.
You even pop, holly and ivy,
onto your Santa Clause crown.

I whispered softly in your ear
what I wanted, exactly.
And..I know you deliver!
With Santa Claus cheer.
On time, and so matter of factly.

Milk and fresh baked cookies
sit on plaid dishes.
Enjoy, as you are fulfilling
Christmas wishes.

Premium MemberIn Memory of My Cat, Luvey

Dearest cat, who died suddenly!
My heart left with yours, so utterly.

Luvey, so huggable, warm and loving.
My feelings for you are eternal and tugging..

Soul sisters, indeed, we always shall be.
Till I once again join you in eternity!

There is a Romios house at Rainbow Bridge,
Where you, my thirteen cats and two dogs live.

With a big room waiting just for me.
Where we all will, continue our lives...
You, the smiling moon, twinkling stars and me.

Premium MemberHow Does It Feel To Have Children

How does it feel to have children?
It feels insanely crazy sometimes, but it also feels blissful.
For five years you do not get to go to the bathroom by yourself.
Because a child is poking fingers under the door and sobbing,
wanting desperately to be with you.
Because you are their world.
You are their hero.
Their rock.
Their safe place.
They are your pride.
Your joy. Your heart.
It feels blissful, joyful, and humble.
Sometimes you think you cannot bear how tired you are,
Then you see their little faces, and you hear them snore
And you know you can wash one more load of clothes.
They can wear you out but they can also bring you up
Fast and hard with giggles no one else has ever heard.
They are your world, and you are theirs.
There is nothing like a child. Two is better. Six, a dream.
How does it feel to have children? It feels complete.
It feels warm. It feels kissable and huggable.
It feels right.

Unseen Visits of Memories

What’s that in the Sunday morning living room?
Oh, it’s you again – your quiet presence that I know.
Where are you? I hear music – oh, you are in your easy chair.
But I am cold – it could not be, not you, it is she,
There are people I have loved. Am I wrong?

I return to my book alone and know
Know there is movement singing,
And I must still my soul, gain control,
Accept your dear unseen visits – huggable, enveloping.
Sunday evening, - I wait on your porch among you.

Premium MemberAutumn Arrives Meditation

A WELCOMING AUTUMN ARRIVES AT OUR DOORSTEP BRINGING AN ARMLOAD OF COLORS RICH AND BRIGHT. THE MYSTIFYING COLORS OF THE SUN GIVES WAY TO THE RUSSET LEAVES OF BEAUTY AS WE SPOT THE SUNLIGHT TINGED WITH COPPER BLOND AND BURGUNDY. GO AHEAD, WELCOME THE SEASON.(BREATHE)
WE FEEL THE BREEZE AS IT TOUCHES OUR CHEEK AND SINGS THROUGH OUR HAIR WITH SONGS OF AFFECTION. FALL, ITS THE PASSAGE OF TIME THAT ACTS LIKE A WARM BUFFER. A PRELUDE TO BRIGHT WINTER DAYS. (BREATHE)
DANCE IN THE LEAVES AND HUG THE BEAUTIFUL BARING TREES. THEY
LONG FOR YOUR WARM ARMS AND YOUR HUGGABLE FRAME. TRUST IN THE ADVENTURE THAT GOD'S HAS PREPARED. WALK THROUGH THE GENTLE PATH AND HUM A TUNE TO THE LITTLE SQUIRRELS AS THEY HAPPILY CLIMB, THEN SCURRY THIS WAY AND THAT (BREATHE)
FEEL THE SNUG SENSATION OF MOHAIR CLOTHING AND CHURCH YOUR
THOUGHTS ON BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES THAT TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY
AUTUMN IS A TIME TO RESTORE YOUR ENERGIES AND HELP YOUR BODY FIND EQUALITY AND BALANCE.
A WELCOMING AUTUMN ARRIVES AT YOUR DOORSTEP, DEAR AND PRECIOUS AS YOUR OWN HEART. BE AWARE OF THE SEASON , GIVE YOURSELF A REASON TO GO OUT AND ENJOY THE CHANGES OF LIFE AND SEASON.(BREATHE)

Premium MemberWere Teddy

Not every toy for girl or boy
Is fun to own or share.
One has need of blood for feed --
The snugly, cuddly were-teddy bear.

This beast you see, cute as can be,
With children unaware,
Leaps up to bite necks in the night!
The huggable, lovable were-teddy bear.

Many a child bitten by wild
Rat or raccoon or hare
Today is alive, but fewer survive
The fangs of the sweet-and-dear were-teddy bear.

"Were Teddy" first appeared in
THE BLACK CRUSADER AND OTHER POEMS OF HORROR
(Springfield, Missouri: W. D. Firestone Press, 1979).

What a Dad Should Be

What a Dad Should Be.
Steve L. Siegel
July, 2015
~:~
In case you didn’t know this,
A Dad should be always a bit radical…
He should love you even more when you’re unlovable
Hug you tighter when you’re un-huggable
And bear you most when you’re un-bearable…
~:~
Oh yes, a Dad should be the world’s most fanatic…
He should love you when the world boos you
He’d want to dance with you when you give him any good news
Know that he’ll be crying with you when you cry to…
~:~
The thing most of all a Dad should be a mathematician…
He has be able to multiply the joy, divide the sorrow,
Subtract the past; and add all of the tomorrows,
Calculate the deep needs within your heart,
Lastly always be bigger than all the sums of their parts…
~:~
P.S. To my loving daughter Tammy who together we went to AA.
Both still sober after twenty years now. We made it!

Teddy Bear

The huggable one!
Cuddly and real cute…
Soft as my pillow…
My most silent friend
Is my Teddy Bear.

Times of my need,
He’s always there.
Though has no life.
He cares me well.

He’s sincere
Every time
I do talk

In my
Lonely…

Room.

Premium MemberBrand New Portmanteau

January is the incunabula of the year
I embrace hugely like my huggable teddy bear
With my new life’s portmanteau inexorably handed over
On that last starry night of a very cold and joyful December

A new portmanteau of life’s flavors and condiments
Portions of joys, pains and many life’s challenges
Mysteriously packed all for me in hope to gird up
To follow whatever roads with valor, love, faith and delight.

I’m eagerly looking forward to what are all in store
Perking up with wonder on a brand new portmanteau as I go aboard
Wanting to share with you whatever great surprises that I may hold
In loving wishes that New Year for you unfolds with moments of gold
