A winter's horse and buggy ride
Despite the chill I'm warm inside
Hot cocoa and a quilted seat
A blanket and our body heat
A frosty night that's crisp and clear
There's no one else but us right here
The snow is falling, ever slight
Lit up by flame and lantern light
And if you're cold then I propose
You snuggle up to me real close
I'll open up my coat for you
Wrap yourself inside it too
Put your head upon my chest
Nap now Bluebird, take a rest
I'll let you know when we arrive
Hold me, hug me while I drive
I can't believe I'm here with you
A long awaited dream come true
Hold me, hug me all the more
My love on you I'll pour and pour
But not right now, to sleep you go
Pleasant dreams my love, you know?
A little kiss, now close your eyes
I'll watch over you my prize

Pick a place you want to go
The answer never will be no
How about a rustic inn?
One where we have never been
With cottages on private coves
Overlooking lilac groves
Horse and buggy romance rides
Snow capped, pine tree mountainsides
Cozy, warm, big fireplace
Reflecting, glowing off your face
Nooks and crannies, old heirlooms
Like corn cob pipes and horsehair brooms
Mornings, evenings, crisp and cool
There's only one unbending rule
You have to let me do it all
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner call
Clean up after, make the bed
Wake up early, plan ahead
Have your coffee, fresh and hot
Waiting for you on the spot
Bring it to you where you are
Serenade you on guitar
Songs of love I wrote for you
Other playlist favorites too
Solely you for company
I only want you there with me

Contrasting and full of range.
He featured styles that were
in tuned to her octaves.
She wished him to shine to
show a world her discussion making
abilities. She knew that her range
her assignment would be to
convince him to agree to a point
in the song where
her low range would be answered with
his higher range
her low ooh would be answered
with her higher ooh
until they reached the section of
the piece where the tempo of the
song changed. Octaves to
describe rallentando to
accelerando or vice versa. He would
have to understand and
agree:
to make the rendesion the best
interpretation of a rendering of
the piece. They would talk it over
in a horse and buggy to assure the
gentlemen that she was honest and
sincere. The virtuosity of the man
is all she demands.

Upon the freshly fallen snow
Outside a church a horse and buggy
Waits for the owner to arrive
They are going for a ride
To a farm that has a sleigh ride
In the farmer's field close by
Enjoying the sleigh ride
Hot chocolate is served
After the sleigh ride
The children will have coca
With a tasty snack to enjoy

Autumn's Arrival
Leaves radiate vivid colors beautifying elms mesmerizing dubious eyes
Seized out of wooden closets woolen sweaters and scarfs would suffice
Warm breezes bade goodbye to an impending avalanche of glacial chill
Nights endure longer as stars paint panoramic scenes in silken vermeil
Stoking tinder in campfires country bumpkins imbibe whiskey and rum
Driver sporting Victorian gear embark on a horse and buggy tryout run
City dwellers undermine tourists upending stores plowing for a bargain
Autumn awaiting raindrops summon the skies to rain upon a mountain

Hearts hear happiness breathing
Heavenly hope free of grieving
Hesitating a healing hearth leading
Home that happens to be heaving
Harm that has heard the pleading
Haunting hastening toward the meaning
Horse and buggy that hauls a load
Handles the hollow form of the code
Heartened heart who has always rode
Hoarded heavily inside their abode
Hoping to heal the heartiest ode
Having hopefulness which has flowed
Hallucinating a haven that might explode
Horseplay which leaves all of creation
Hope of a second chance to avoid temptation
Heaven happens to heal every relation
Hastening us all to last through the duration
Hues of angelic halos remind us of salvation

To find I will a rural road
Where horse and buggy were the last,
While of today I will unload
And dream only of the past.
Far away from the interstate
Upon a road without a sound
And even though I'm running late,
My way home will be found.
To peaceful pastures like a dream
Of dusty farmers behind a plow,
With great horses by the team
Upon a rural road in the now.
And to stop, the time, I will take,
On a rural road slow of pace
And in the silence I'll awake,
Memories of a forgotten place.

To old places would I could go,
With these photographs to remind,
Where horse and buggy in time slow,
On dusty roads mine to rewind.
Where upon a porch made of wood,
In a rocker where I would sit;
With a hound dog, oh yes I could,
And a spittoon filled with spit.
While a lemonade close at hand,
In the heat I'd be complainin'
But 'cause we're hayin' you'd understand,
I'd be thankful it weren't rainin'.
And Ma'd have grits on the griddle
While bumble bees were the only sound;
Yep, nothin' else as I whittle,
'Ceptin' them wood chips all around.
Now a little paint I'd be thinkin',
Could use them windows and doors,
But with my lemonade drinkin'
There was just so many chores.
Until from these photos leaping,
My old wife, how could I forget?
“Yes dear,” I say, “I'm still sweeping.”
And would I could go back? You bet!

He died so many years from old Blue Ridge
That all we knew of roots were faded names
Renewed in happy tales and banjo songs
He carried with him through the narrowing plots.
His vision went from horse and buggy youth,
Brush harbored preachers and a one room school,
From hard work started early on the farm
To satellites and men upon the moon.
He ran away, a boy to be a clown
And brought a ready humor down to us.
He was proud and self-sufficient man
Who loved to fish and caught a host of friends.
Five generations, father down to son,
A ministry had gone; he was its last.
He claimed a pact with God had made him preach
And proved it living purer than his words.
We watched the vacant temple through our tears
Because there is no place to place a love
That final, and because we cannot know
The secret dreams denied to let us dream.

Mildest autumn on record up here
What will become of us in future years
Will we all melt away
No more rides on a sleigh
Just a horse and buggy, no muffs on our ears

Nana told me once how she and Pop-pop
went courting in a horse-and-buggy.
How quaint I thought, and was a bit amazed
how far we humans have gone:
from smelly, plodding horse
to crossing an ocean in an afternoon
while six miles high....
Then Grandma told me something shocking:
she said they went out in that carriage--
to make love! Nana! I gasped silently,
until I saw she meant the words literally:
my grandparents went courting!
Months of courting to make the love
that would hold them together for over
sixty-three years...and I am only here because
two young people took long, long
buggy rides behind a tired, smelly horse.

I see the scene before me as it rains
The roads are slick with water on the ground
The reflection of the lights seems inane
It is powerful to see this around
The lights down below the heavenly sky
Everybody that walks by all look down
The scene that I see involves a buggy
Looking ahead, the horse draws it along
A reflection of these objects is high
I wish to be in the rain, I belong
I’m insane not to be out there running
Playing in the dim lights, singing a song
Even if I’m wet, there’s no regretting
I would pet that horse on the street tonight
I’m glad it’s night, for the sun is setting
I see horse and buggy go in the night
Beyond the sight of the fogged lights outside
The street is all lit by the lovely lights
Now the reflection is just slightly wide
The water blends in nicely on the side
