Hometown Poems

Home town
Yesterday I saw him play billiards, a famous man
There are not many celebrities in my hometown
We have not many things to be proud safe for
A duck pond in the center, geese and rats in
The basement of the café
The famous one was once a boxer in the USA
But never made it to

Planting

A friend said
a little mulch
and planting
is what it takes
to transform a yard.
She bought flowers
in spring
as a gift to herself.
She laid the mulch
and planted the flowers
around a tree.
She cried out
for last night’s storm
and all life
a touch of rain could bring.
She said
after her divorce
every transgression
could be forgiven
with a little sun.
After moving back
to her hometown
it was time

Our Town

This is our town, this place we share
we’ve got lions, on our town square
old mills, big hills and Smithills Dean
no frills, aside from our home team
Rivington if you want fresh air

You’ll not find many millionaires
but dreams survive, with wear and tear
for what could be, or should have been
This is our town

London’s alright,

Hometown

Hometown, a place we’re addicted to,
A place we call our own.
Yet, sometimes we’re compelled to,
Sometimes, forced to roam.

Hometown, a place we’re led to,
lay our roots so deep.
Yet, sometimes we’re forced to,
Sometimes, forcing us to take a leap.

Hometown, a place where love grows,
Guides us as we learn and thrive.
Yet, sometimes they force us,
Forcing us

Seattle Washington of King County is where I was born in early October of 1954.
And it already has become another sanctuary city. What is a sanctuary city? In
the case of the USA and Washington DC--'it is nothing more than a sanctuary for
dangerous criminals and terrorists,' who are illegal aliens flooding our northern
boarders'. Washington State

Hometown

Oh, good morning faceless man
It's going to be another summer
Let's think of a way to get along
I'm pursuing your wickedness

I want to play

Peace ??

That Big Tree From Our Hometown That I Visit Sometimes

Don’t mind me
I’m just laying on my bed
plotting ways to save the world

I saw my lucky stars wrapped around Jupiter
It hurts to know that what I needed most
couldn’t provide in that moment

Will someone please touch my heart?
Like pen to paper,
fuel to fire,
go ahead and grab my heart strings

How could I

My Hometown

Corn stalks dance
In abandoned fields
          Like wispy ghosts
    Without their husks
As children revel tirelessly
Midwestern skies sapphire encrusted.

I thought
Home is a long way away
for everyone

No matter how we are closer,
we live in

Premium MemberHometown Souvenirs

I wish to view an Oct sunrise in my hometown.
Riding a train to class and eating bread brown.
I miss wearing boots in my charming homeland.
Jackets and hats close to the September end.

Home ought to be recalled with love and pride.
Akin street tag and rendezvous by the creekside.
My hometown has bleak fame for being notorious.
Despite adversity,

Premium MemberMy Hometown

Small, cut in half by Route Sixty-Six,
with farms and ranches scattered around.
Theaters, cafes, motels, your picks
Saturdays, everyone came to town.

What fun walking down crowded Main Street.
giving a farm boy a furtive glance.
Then movies, popcorn, something sweet
to watch Fred and Ginger glide and dance.

The tranquil aura of peacefulness,
of hometown, friends, and a picture show.
We didn't think

Premium MemberA Town's Faith

My home town, in the heart of the Blue Ridge
Whispers, like peace – joy that seems to breath
Inspiration, imagination, insight – building a bridge
Across the soul who needs to know, in spite of death…

There is a little town square where people gather
Families smiling and hearts feeling so gentle and caring
Giving to the town a feel

Premium MemberThat Small Town Christmas Spirit

That small town Christmas spirit...
It grew a little brighter
just after Thanksgiving.

Garlands were wrapped around
every light pole lining the main street.
Multi-colored light strings
outlined every window.
The drug store, the library.
Even the corner bar
across from the church
had a little Christmas spirit and cheer.
And, the post office, busy with workers
answering kids' letters to Santa...

Young voices rose
from the school gymnasium,
where

Ode To Nyc

I want to see the clash of the classes

The dichotomy between the debutantes and the downtrodden

wallow in the welfare
scream at those who don't care

soak up society
 revel in the rivalry

 step on the suited
 smile at the smart

 vilify the antagonists
 snore at the soporifics

 bleed in the gutter
