Crown His Effort

It took guts for him to choose it
The society made him pursue it
Under the high pressure of sunset
Without been assured that he would make it
He took the step to maintain his outfit
Obi will never remain a boy

Travelling down the road
He met her
He took her hands and paid the price
They came together and gave a rise
In the shade of his hustle, there she lies
Making meals with the things he earns
The boy is now a man

While the little called him "papa"
He worked extra to provide for two
The burden was much
But he never complained
He moves along with his dear beloveds
Just to push their fates to climb the hills

He motivates even when he is down
He provides even when it’s dawn
He deserves to wear the crown
The crown of a hero

today began sunny and warm
then a high pressure zone arrived...
and cold air came from above
with winds ruling over the trees...

heavy hail followed by snow
stormed and calmed three times...
dark clouds rolled in the sky
creating lightning and thunder...

the storm took over two hours
and its finish was a calm afternoon...
with the sun shining brightly
the sunset filled the sky with color...

The thinking clouds, looking down on earth, and thinking.
They are puffed, curdled milk clouds that are high and cold.
They apprise a December sun which seems to be winking.
The clouds wink back, refusing to drop the snowflakes they hold.

In high pressure of atmosperic prevailing wind,
With a tantrum sun not wanting to share its rays,
'Tis the fate this year that December's snow, the clouds rescind.
While earth waits for snow in darkness of January's days.

through kitchen's glass pane
browning leaf tumbles, twirls down...
yellow butterfly

morning glories choke
fall's mexican petunias...
last green pear hangs high

cool crisp breezy air
high pressure from northwest holds...
hurricane's low whirls

Premium MemberThe Rain

The rain before the industrial revolution, was part of the cycle, to maintain balance in nature. Now, it’s part of a frantic effort to dilute, and remove pollution, no longer able to find lost plants and trees. It now falls with increased frequency, without purpose on concrete and asphalt, barren rainforest lands, stripped to grow cash crops, to satisfy junkies fixes. One can only hope, psychedelic mushrooms, in vogue by the trend setting actors of La La land, replace poppies, and hemp, taking up less land. The oxygen engine, of the earth, can be restored to full capacity, by replacing trees once lost, without a second thought. Reforestation hopefully becoming an accepted priority, funded in addition to defense budgets, and pork. Then Mother Nature could chill, low and high pressure systems again producing needed rain, not the damage left in the wake of tornadoes, microbursts, hurricanes, and typhoons. The time to heal the earth, can’t be infinite. Like the lifespan of all who walk, it has a beginning and an end, if signs are continued to be ignored, and our greatest resources, lives and dollars, stay focused and remain on winning and justifying war.

A high pressure is moving up from the south
Which means fair weather for tomorrow, I think,
At least that’s what I’m getting by word of mouth.

According to all our charts, we’re on the brink
Of foul weather toward the end of the week,
But our chief meteorologist is reputed to drink.

Understand, tomorrow we could have a shower
If the low pressure from the west moves quick,
We could very likely get a drizzle in the next hour.

By noon tomorrow the cumulus clouds are thick,
So don’t count on seeing a bright, sunny sky --
It won’t be the afternoon for a warm spring picnic.

After this week, we’re thinking it will begin to dry
However, next week storms are unpredictable
So, I wouldn’t be planning an outdoor fish fry!

When it turns dry, the garden soil will be tillable
Looking for shirt-sleeve weather, quite comfortable.

Tempest

From the ice bound Southern Pole comes the north bound southerlies,
pushing wave after wave white horses, attacking rock and sand,
where billowing black clouds blanket one of the angry seas
that is behind the battle between the ocean and the land,
on a relentless journey that’s been repelled for centuries,
through defiance from persistence in an unrelenting stand,
until high pressure moves in behind the zephyr westerlies,
to bring back a time of balance now it is in command.

High Pressure Pump

A very crucial thing this is, this part of the greater whole

It hides, quiet, in the wings, so vital this thing

Never seen yet works so hard, does its job, day after day

Circulating, delivering, controlling the demands

Sometimes we need slow, or fast, it is taken for granted

And then it ages, develops flaws, performance gone

So, we slow up, until it fails and all comes to stop

Marooned, mired, our voyage ends

If lucky we can replace it, come back to life

Our journeys dictated by a high pressure pump

Earth

You cannot tell,
My inner core
Has high heat,
High pressure.

Lava flows...

I stay calm on the surface.

I bear the heat of the sun,
I dance to the song of the rain.
I go through all seasons,
I keep up with rotations.
I lend colors to life,
I also offer a new lease of life.

I am Earth.

I bear all the burden;
While my blue companion floats free.

Suddenly Swans

Torn sail blowing in a gale
sand beautifully shifting, dunes flowing
spray from the edge of a wave
moments camera frozen, seen
snapshots of the mind
memories only you can find

Long-lasting bulls eye ripples grow on the millpond surface
a momentary jumping fish creation
dissipating, gently lapping the hard rocky edge
Suddenly two swans water-ski in
paired parallel wakes created
disrupting reflected hills, sky and trees

tinged pink in gentle sunset breeze
good dry day promised by the sky
red western evenings never lie
High pressure, breeze slow & soft, a warm waft
cloudless ocean deep blue skies
natures treasures for our eyes

The rocky path carries us
up towards the setting sun
warmth disappears to the western coast
we are no longer warm as toast
cooler air moving in, breeze going thin
light fades as we reach the pub
time for hospitality, beer and grub

Forecast For Life

So here I sit tapping away
Wondering what words to say

The worldwide news is on the telly
But it all seems rather smelly

The weather forecast is now on
I hope it sings a better song

But there is nothing I can say or do
As the weather forecast is not new

Rain and thunder will descend
Until high pressure comes again
Oh how life is much the same

I don’t know but we seem to name
Every storm that comes our way

Never mind it doesn’t matter
The weather forecast will get better

So what’s the next name of my temper
Shall I call it Barbarossa

For you and me we just need to see
That life is up and down

Like the weather changes everyday
We just need to find our way

Through life’s bellwether

Sound Retreat

Ninety degrees on the first day of Fall
in the Northern Hemisphere
so now the Autumnal Equinox
has arrived and officially here.

We need a little, steady rain
to make the leaves real pretty.
Instead it’s stifling in the heat
suppressing all the city.

A hurricane is passing by
way out in the Atlantic.
Though we could stand some moisture
we do not need the panic.

They say it’s a high-pressure system
causing all the heat.
Regardless of its origins
it’s fall. So, sound “retreat.”

ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE

High pressure, like a huge hug,
we sail through seas on sunshine fun,
Sans a care, in this birthplace of soil.

Ahoy, those troubled seas, doth seed
vibrant blues, of lowest pressure.
A potential whirlwind, of weather,

comes crashing down, to relieve
(often careening) our festivities,
tossing our mortal flesh about.

((((We oft desire to cocoon ourselves,
in lukewarm lullabye, pretense,
of the calming eye of mother nature.))))

I shall opine, and deviate with adventure.
Give me the warm high pressure upon my spine.
Lecture me, with the lows of tempest thunderstorm.

Friend, I will hug you tight,
Lull you to sleep,
Awaken you furiously.

O gentle earth! O rapturous heavens!
