Best High Pressure Poems

The New Year has come wafting on the wings of winter
The high latitudinal areas of the northern hemisphere
Would be in the grip of frequent snowstorms severe
Throwing life in desolate isolation and out of gear.
The cold wave sub-zero conditions of deprivation would persist
In many sections of population for in poverty they can’t subsist
Who wouldn’t see for long the sun of subservient survival
Through the dense fog of abject abandon and rueful refusal.
The frosty winter nights would fall with wrath
Making many frigid who would seek introvert warmth.

After the winter haze clears the weather would change
The spring would develop many high pressure regions
In the lives’ atmosphere of the aspirant people
Living in the spreading mist of uncertain future climate
With the hope of clear blue sky and sunny temperate days.
They have to brace for the increasing ambient temperature
In the thermal islands in the wake of global warming true or not.
The fanatic heat waves in the summer of discontent
Could blow dust of hatred in the raging desert storm
Might sweep like nimbus cloud across the tormented humanity.
The overcast monsoon sky may fall asunder
After unpredictable cloud burst one after another
On gloomy minds plunged in the trough of depression.
They would sink in the flood brought by heavy rains
In low pressure areas where mental stress would deepen despair.
Hurricanes and tropical storms would spin on trade winds
Wreck havoc bringing misery to many
For they would make landfall on the helpless people of destiny.

The cirrus clouds would slowly clear
The low atmospheric disturbances would subside
As the autumn would arrive sailing on the northern wind
With nip in the air and prospect of bright sunny days.
The occasional gusty winds of the fall
Would blow the broken brown leaves away
The way welted thoughts of the mind
Get swept by the squalls of fast moving times.

The old year would take our agony and dreams
Across the winter to the cold folds of another New Year
And we would wait for yet another spring another time
When our lives would bloom like flowers.

through kitchen's glass pane
browning leaf tumbles, twirls down...
yellow butterfly

morning glories choke
fall's mexican petunias...
last green pear hangs high

cool crisp breezy air
high pressure from northwest holds...
hurricane's low whirls

The thinking clouds, looking down on earth, and thinking.
They are puffed, curdled milk clouds that are high and cold.
They apprise a December sun which seems to be winking.
The clouds wink back, refusing to drop the snowflakes they hold.

In high pressure of atmosperic prevailing wind,
With a tantrum sun not wanting to share its rays,
'Tis the fate this year that December's snow, the clouds rescind.
While earth waits for snow in darkness of January's days.

Who Gives a Frack

There’s gas in them there seams
So the scientists seem to think
All they have to do to get it is
 Dig the holes, then sink

Sink down hydraulic drills
Force under high pressure, mixture in the cracks
All the gas then seeps upwards
And that’s what they call the fracks

Fracking is new big business
They say fracking is here to stay
Blackpool had its tower
But has the tower had its day?

When they pressure shoot the mixture
And the ground does bang and shake
As the fracks travel through the ground
Does it cause a new earthquake?

Never mind the ghost ride
Or the mouse trap racing round
With a little bit of fracking
Will it all fall down?

No more Blackpool illuminations
No more trams or central pier
When the scientists start their fracking
Will the frackers shed a tear?

They say there are no earth tremors
It does not cause new cracks
In other words poor Blackpool
The scientists don’t give a frack…

Do the politicians listen?
Do they bother what people feel or think?
You only know where moneys involved
They will let the frackers sink

With a little fracking here
   and a little fracking there
The gas it rises to the top,
do they catch it in the air?

As long as they are comfortable
and they themselves suffer no lack
One thing about the politicians is,
         they never give a frack…

Fracking is forcing under high pressure a mixture or water sand and chemicals into the ground fracturing rock to release its gas, everywhere they try it is seems to cause earth tremors, they say there is no definitive proof but do they care when money is involved.

Blackpool suffered two quakes causing them to stop the fracking for a while but they want to start again.o my question is once more 'Who gives a frack?

Weather Forecast

This Winter will be much colder than last year,
but not colder than the average temperature.
Make sure you still keep your long underwear!
Precipitation will be above-normal levels for sure.
Record cold has impacted the world since December,
due to the jet stream pattern’s high pressure.
But what will it be like from Spring until September?
Above average warmth sounds like the most measure.

Climatology predicts that Spring will bring the biggest shifts,
Southeast all the way to the Gulf Coast will be quite heated.
Above toward the Colorado Rockies into the high rifts
is where the same temperature from last year is repeated.
In the Pacific Northwest, Spring will bring more cold conditions,
so keep those warm mittens handy until early May.
Based on the facts of the National Meteorologist Diagnostician,
most of the United States will have chillier nights and colder days.

Summer will be slightly hotter and more dry than usual,
a little more rain with more chance of tornadoes.
The Northwest will have much more heat that’s gradual,
making way for forest fires once again causing throes.
Hawaii’s forecast is based strictly upon topography
focusing on Honolulu, Maui, Kauai and Pearl City.
I guess the weather depends on the actual geography,
and ranges of temperatures based on atmospheric diversity.

It will be drier starting in Autumn two thousand eighteen,
a lot less rain and more of that beautiful October sun.
Along the Atlantic will bring climate chilled yet serene,
and November will start the snow until the year is done.
Overall there is not much change in this coming year,
pretty much the same environment from coast to coast.
I will admit that I am grateful to be living here
in Michigan where there are four seasons; it changes the most.

Premium Member Used Car Salespeople

You will see this phenomenon from day to day.
Salesmen are selling in a pertinacious way.
When you come in, they jump out of their seat.
As a customer, it is you they want to greet.
They try like hell to put you behind the wheel.
Each vehicle in the showroom is priced as a “steal”.
Do you feel high pressure? There is no doubt.
If you first walked in, they want you to drive out.

They are under much pressure themselves by their bosses.
If no sales, then there will be job losses.
They have to move all the metal off the lot,
and sell for the most money everything they’ve got.

Premium Member Political and Social Insanity

I wander alone through the streets of this town,
All alone by myself out of sight.
I sit forlorn on a seat, a solo swing of a ride,
Unnoticed and unseen every night.

My colors are grey, while around me is busy,
I’m the shadow that people pass by.
Sometimes I’m a hand or a bit of a leg,
I don’t ask any more, don’t ask why.

I’ve only one thought, does my statement still fit,
Is my shape what others want, have or need.
Does ME make them question anything at all,
Question anything in a city of greed.

I’ll be destroyed by tomorrow by the blast of a can,
Or the burst of a high pressure main.
I’m your typical graffiti on the side of the wall,
The political and social insane.

Premium Member The Rain

The rain before the industrial revolution, was part of the cycle, to maintain balance in nature. Now, it’s part of a frantic effort to dilute, and remove pollution, no longer able to find lost plants and trees. It now falls with increased frequency, without purpose on concrete and asphalt, barren rainforest lands, stripped to grow cash crops, to satisfy junkies fixes. One can only hope, psychedelic mushrooms, in vogue by the trend setting actors of La La land, replace poppies, and hemp, taking up less land. The oxygen engine, of the earth, can be restored to full capacity, by replacing trees once lost, without a second thought. Reforestation hopefully becoming an accepted priority, funded in addition to defense budgets, and pork. Then Mother Nature could chill, low and high pressure systems again producing needed rain, not the damage left in the wake of tornadoes, microbursts, hurricanes, and typhoons. The time to heal the earth, can’t be infinite. Like the lifespan of all who walk, it has a beginning and an end, if signs are continued to be ignored, and our greatest resources, lives and dollars, stay focused and remain on winning and justifying war.

Memories On Branches

Early March, warm sunshine entices out
Numerous hidden sprig formed new leaves
From tree bark's yielding grey/brown seeping grout
encrusted branches stirring overhead
A Springtime environment conducive
For chattering chaffinchs' in their twos
Comes helpmate so eagerly to show
In nest mating rituals they enthuse

Herbaceous borders of sweet Summer stock
As high pressure heralds seasonal rain
Young fledglings bathing in puddles flock
Immaculately cut green lawn is laid
Under a medieval garden oak
Whose lightning-struck slit branches dip down low
Come country dwellers and city folk
To enjoy picnic fare under welcome shade

Crisscrossed stark bracken twigs blown far and wide
Tumbling, crispy dried, red/gold autumn leaves
Proclaims seasonal change as down they glide
Harvested wheat fields and ripe fruited fare
Evergreen trees, in lament, wave farewell
To bereft shedding foliaged trees
Where grey/red squirrels hide their last kernel
"Fear not, branches in arms, we shall stand guard"

Huff and puff, the wild winter storms take hold
Tempestuously taunts the upright elm
Forcefully humpbacked, it bends to unfold
Huntsmen hurdlers ride fleet in pursuit
As sycamore branches sate with new snow
Change the blasted landscape scenery
Badgers, moles and stoats in tracking go
Indistinguishable in form and size

Premium Member Atmospheric Pressure

ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE

High pressure, like a huge hug,
we sail through seas on sunshine fun,
Sans a care, in this birthplace of soil.

Ahoy, those troubled seas, doth seed
vibrant blues, of lowest pressure.
A potential whirlwind, of weather,

comes crashing down, to relieve
(often careening) our festivities,
tossing our mortal flesh about.

((((We oft desire to cocoon ourselves,
in lukewarm lullabye, pretense,
of the calming eye of mother nature.))))

I shall opine, and deviate with adventure.
Give me the warm high pressure upon my spine.
Lecture me, with the lows of tempest thunderstorm.

Friend, I will hug you tight,
Lull you to sleep,
Awaken you furiously.

O gentle earth! O rapturous heavens!

Weather Forecast

The outlook for the coming week
Socially hot with a wave of heat
Love is fair, fine with expected sun
Finances however overcast but rain there's none
Health this week foggy with low lying cloud
The weekend expect lightning and thunder that's loud
The extended outlook it's fair to say
Varies by the season, month and day
Summer this year to love brings doubt
Hot, dry and dusty, somewhat of a drought
Socially you'll reach maximum temp
Tropical storms are likely and they're meant
Finances look bright, calm and clear
But health may be blustery with arctic air
The months in spring a likely rainbow
Socially you're tired as cloud lies low
Love could be foggy and a likely frost
Poor visibility brings financial loss
The barometer gives an accurate measure
Health is suffering from high pressure
Winter expect blizzards and snow
Socially too cold you won't want to go
Love has a warning gale force wind
Finances will continue in a cyclonic spin
Health can expect the bitterly cold
Snowstorms and snowflakes you just want to hold
Autumn the climate sure does change
Socially there are twisters that'll rearrange
Love can bring a storm of dust
Beware of this as it's just lust
Finances they may just evaporate
This warning however has no date
Intermittent rain describes your health
But the forecast predicts just be yourself!

Ice Cold

Ice Cold
Leave summer behind before it starts
Take to the molten core of Earth
Too much heat and fire is not enough
Make it hotter, burn, dissolve the calm
Winding roads turn straight under high pressure
Temperature rises, blazes passages
Folds them inside out with endless furor
Ashes build on lava flows
Harsh and slow, down where low roads go
Start a furnace wild, hard to handle
Melt. Feel fever. Sweat. Take in infernos breathe
Touch the sun before it sets
There is nothing left but heat
So be content.
Fire is your friend

High Pressure Pump

A very crucial thing this is, this part of the greater whole

It hides, quiet, in the wings, so vital this thing

Never seen yet works so hard, does its job, day after day

Circulating, delivering, controlling the demands

Sometimes we need slow, or fast, it is taken for granted

And then it ages, develops flaws, performance gone

So, we slow up, until it fails and all comes to stop

Marooned, mired, our voyage ends

If lucky we can replace it, come back to life

Our journeys dictated by a high pressure pump

Discovering Gratification

Oxygen spews out from peculiar plants
Carbon Dioxide releases from burning fuels…
Our lives are close at stake…we’re dispersing about like ants
Oxygen slips into the hungry mouths of billions of living beings
Each breath we take…
each step we take…
Could be a lifelong mistake…

Oxygen makes our bodies feel energized and flourished
Magma brews inside volcanoes –
Erupting odium…
Reacting to earthly heat and high pressure

Oxygen sprouts when trees continue their growth spurts,
Regardless of their struggle to survive…
Revive…bidding to stay alive…
Just keep on thriving…the sun will arrive…

Enigma surrounds our planet Earth –
Black holes and galaxies fill our sight with pleasure
My curiosity’s sterilized by visions of the future soon to come
I’m willing to discover dark matter in my own hands…
My ingenious mind recovers from a breakdown,
Peeling speedy evidence by the minute…I succumb
To my vital meaning of life…I breathe in the oxygen
Of amassed gratification
