Battle Of The Hemispheres

and a switch flicks
who are you he asks
it should be me 
asking who are you
until the switch 
flicks back to . . .

fuddled hours 
gone are the simplest things
a crayon in a box of pens
then that switch 
and it’s who are you
I want to go home

it’s who are you
as now a foreign

December Hemispheres

December, as the winter solstice dances in the sky,
cheery children's voices echo "Christmas joy is nigh."
No longer is it summer in the Northern hemisphere,
as magic snowdrops whisper, “Wintertime is here.’’

The sky’s a sea of cosmic lights, diamonds of the cold,
casting down on virgin snow a silver shadow bold.
As winter’s kiss with brutal love caresses lips

dusty drips drooling
inky lits lurching
felon fits fostering
callous contractions cupping

damp dark dancing

multifarious means metamorphosing

Whole loves and half lives
listen to this rain
dripping tears on green leafed pachysandra

roots systematically suck up water
