Premium MemberWhere Nothing Happens

here, between myself and myself,
God dwells when
He flees the world.
I found Him once
in a forgotten loaf of bread
on the steps of a hospice,
in an old woman asking forgiveness
for simply living.

He did not ask who I am.
He touched my brow
and retreated back into the wound.

we do not think.
we defend ourselves from thoughts
as from a fire burning within.

life has it happens

LIFE AS IT HAPPENS
BAD THINGS HAPPEN AT THE MOST INOPPORTUNE TIME.
WE CALL IT MURPHY'S LAW, BAD LUCK, EVEN KARMA.
GOOD THINGS HAPPEN, AND WE REFER TO IT AS SERENDIPITY,
MIRACLES OR A FORTUNATE EVENT.
BE IN THE MOMENT AND EMBRACE THE DAY AS IT COMES.
YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT GOD WILL SURPRISE YOU WITH.

Premium MemberDon't You Hate When This Happens

A burr stuck smack-dab in the back
     of his white tuxedo
     Everyone pointing at it
He couldn’t quite reach it though

     Balked at removing his tux
No idea of what it was
        His life on hold

Premium MemberWhen Something Special Happens again, and again

Now for the long flight home feeling lost in present roam
Reliving our past days, weeks, my minds in wanting comb

Her smile, her charm, her look of warm, inviting adorn
We walked, we talked, but we never baulked our future born

Now eight thousand miles from each other, but, just yesterday
We joked, we laughed, we kissed, we cried, our us, in display

No sooner back, our paths grew strong, another flight booked
Her parents I meet, our paster we seek, yea, we're hooked

Forested walks, and more we talked, her family we're graced
Near future plans, to be adorned, two families soon embraced

Rizal statue, countryside, amidst its lush, two hearts beside
Balai Gloria's wish, two blessings futures bliss, we're now allied

Once again, against our grain, Manila bound, our hearts ground
Knowing that soon we'll be as one, soon to share sacred sounds

I'm standing on the external, Ninoy - Manila, waving blind goodbye
She never turned, turnaround, me too, we're too emotional in cry

Premium MemberWhen Something Special Happens again

We were worlds apart, yet when words were selected
Something special happened, and we became elected

We chatted about our families, us in generalisation
Our works, our likes, our wants, to familiarisation

Next thing we knew, I, flight booked, nigh on 8000 miles
Upon landing at 'Ninoy' to be met with hundreds of smiles

McBlimey, I said to myself, is Eloisa amidst those faces
Even my eyes focusing in, struggling their radar traces

On the exiting from arrivals, I heard a sweet voice say
"James" as I turned around, my focus in smiling stay

Taxi pickup, hotel bound, with chitter chatter, we're sound
Week to week passing we're sweet, on Philippine ground

Intramuros, Batangas, Santa Rosa, and onto Lake Taal
Me loving Volcano's, we Tagaytay, looking down in thrall

Having seeing the aforementioned, to Manila we'd head back
So, so hard to leave this lush, and so hope there's no wrack

I'm now standing in the middle of the road, waving goodbye
She never turned, turnaround, we two, too emotional in cry

A CERTAIN DEJA VU HAPPENS poetrix

         On certain rainy afternoons
        I smell anamnestic perfumes
        love... axiom or incarnation!

Premium MemberHate Happens

The group you are in did not win
Now your mind begins to unwind
Fear grows for "They" are different
Dangerous and a threat akin
To a fascist re-emergence
The things you hate about the winner
Are the things you fear lie within
So you project onto others
The motives you've repressed as sin
Feeling powerless and ashamed
You lash out hiding from inner pain
Seeking momentary solace
Attacking a man whom you disdain
Truth too difficult to accept
They are the haters, it's not us
Evidence abounds on the grounds
That hateful acts are all around
Fake Russian collusion hoaxes
Laptop lies, lawfare convictions
Two assassination attempts
Maxine Waters shouts in the streets
Nancy Pelosi rips up speech
The news knowingly speaks untruth
How many can now see the pattern
Can you not see where hate happens

Life happens

Life happens
Life is beautiful oh yes it is
Life is this life is that they say
But how many are living nowadays
What is the Cost of our freedom
Are we born to pay
How can we deal with all this net of debt world wide
What is the escape root to our global poverty
Cos is obvious and clear
To so many of us in Africa that
Life happens

Life happens
Life is beautiful yes oh it is awesome
Life gives this life gives that they say
As if they are perfect
As if they created nature with God
As if they know it all
Take a close look around the world
We are developing in crisis
I was told it has always been this way
I was told my Poetry can’t change nothing with out money and power
I was warn to be careful for what I wish for
So basically be a sheep
I knew we are born to be free
But at what cost is our freedom today
When you think about it
You will see for yourself why
Life happens.

What Happens, Happens

Written By: D. Collins 12/24/24

What happens to us will happen to us, alone.
Through every day of our lives, until we're gone.
Each path is different for every one of us.
What happens will be fate, or a stroke of luck.

There'll be times when bad fate rears its ugly head.
That's when we learn that we're so ill-prepared.
We go into a panic and see the walls closing in.
Never understanding that it was going to happen.

We can envision, coordinate, and plan to a tee.
But life steps in to reveal what is reality.
It has detours, hills, and plenty of pit stops.
What happens will happen, whether we want it or not.

Premium MemberLife Happens

Life happens people come, and go, Some are self absorbed, also people are plain out of touch.. Life happens

Criticism, Fears, Insecurities, Don't take it personally. Life happens

Obstacles often may hinder one's journey yet don't lose
one's self-worth, Keep uplifting yourself without anyone's
approval. Life happens

Riding the waves we all experience in this life even if you
must stand alone. Life happens

Familiar faces often cast one's doubts to shatter one's
dreams with negative feedback. Life happens

Lessons oftentimes are part of the process, divine timing
is one's faith don't give up. Life happens

Remain balanced like the scales, follow one's passions
And dreams, Let self appaulse come from within. Life
happens

Love Happens

Scribbling in my writer's cafe,
Love happens along our way,
It's a keyboard pixie society,
You're a charming man,
Disarming, you can,
Cannot measure bliss,
"No Spring chicken, miss!"
Specks in vast universe,
Lovers love this verse,
Plan our pleasure today,
Love happens along the way.
