Wood polished so bright to mimic gold,
Its yellow coat glitters in the sun,
May even fetch a high price when sold,
And still be cherished in the long run.
Like a flawless gold that flaunts great wealth,
Its glamour, a pride to regal thrones,
Where most kings recline in pride and health,
Yet it's mere wood disguised as gemstones.
Great craftsmanship like that of goldsmiths,
Who shape raw gold to forge pure beauty,
So carpenters carve wood into myths,
Emblazoned pride into their duty.

MEET A POET TODAY
I know birds that weave shrubs into nest on trees ??
I know rodents that do same in crevices
I know apes that do their gymics on branches
Even the weevils that pulverise grains into dusts
And for goldsmiths that twist the fate of precious stones
If you ever marvel at these things
Pay a visit to a poet
They are the gods that weave words into twines and brass chains
Make one a friend today
Tomorrow you will speak in Solomon's words

Tongue Twister Time
There once was a Queen I was told
had a passion for Quartz but not for gold
Her lust for the mineral
To the point of being criminal
Left goldsmiths in awe of her quirky flaw
The King was appalled and told her to STOP!
We don’t need another countertop
So she gave up the quest
And decided to rest
And dropped the subject from her mind
Until Alabaster she came to find
QUIRKY QUEEN QUIT THE QUEST FOR QUARTZ

If Envy was a king,
he would kill everyone in his kingdom.
He would kill the cooks,
for he can’t cook as well as they do.
He would kill goldsmiths,
for he can’t make jewelry as well as they do.
He would kill poets,
for he can’t write poems as well as they do.
He would kill hunters,
for he can’t hunt as well as they do.
He would kill diviners,
for he doesn't have any sacred calling as they do.
He would kill painters,
for he can’t paint as well as they do.
He would kill his guards,
for he can’t guard as well as they do….
If Envy was a King,
he would kill everyone in his kingdom.
