"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,
plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11
As Christian believers
we may suffer tribulation and trouble
but does that mean the Lord leaves us alone?
We may become destitute, hungry and naked,
but does the Lord turn his back on His children?
NEVER will he leave us to demon attack.
We are on a mission, a journey t'wards home...
home to the Father. Our path may grow hazy;
but counsel, direction, encouragement from
God's Spirit brings joy to those who seek Him.
NEVER will the powers of hell win.
There's NOTHING that can separate us from God;
death, itself, is a welcome homecoming.
Life on earth may involve persecution
I guess that's what our Savior, Jesus meant -
Oppression in the midst of righteousness
drives you closer toward heaven's goalpost.
As a Christian believer,
if you discover the world is hating you
Remember: “it hated and rejected me first .”

A short stout figure in the forward line of attack,
controlled with skill the darting ball on the green turf.
With the magnetic pair of magical legs like a wizard,
spearheaded the attacking formation across the field.
The opponent defenders had to invent new strategies
to foil his rhythmic moves with the ball toward goalpost,
he could make lyrical way outwitting all their attempts
to see the ball like lightning hit the net behind the bars.
The shining star of his country’s illustrious football team,
he led from the front to win many major tournaments.
A legend in his life time, he was the pride of Argentina,
the creator of poetry in motion, he was Maradona.

Why I need a man when I am too much in a lady-like skin ?
There are hundreds of reasons, there must be.
The first reason is perhaps loneliness.
Over-pouring. Overflowing.
Fictitious characters of books bid farewell, at last.
When stove sends signal. Real stern. Overdone.
And I whittle down my whistle-blower signals to only one
Why I need a man when I am too much in a lady like skin.
In a courtesy match between me and the rest of the world.
Long story short, it is a long-lost goalpost,
as the goalkeeper went to fix the jersey
On the wrong clock with a wrong show in mind.
But it is good at least to wake up for another day!

I travelled with headlights on
At the end of the day I sensed
Turning into a game changer
With seamless life experiencing
A paradigm shift of intent, I learnt
To score even the goalpost changed.
Sailing on waves of success
I found a sea change in me
Going forward I discovered then
I was no longer on your radar
My exit strategy I made effective
Closing my scrapbook of dissimilarity
For we ceased to be on the same page.

In the youthful years enamored to the essence
for the unsupressible passion for playing football,
I spent the quality time in the playground
every awaited evening till the sundown.
Having set my aspiring goal to become
a professional football player of national repute,
I practiced hard year after year,
but my destiny rolled a different dice.
In one game carelessly I broke my leg,
an injury from which I could never recover
to return to the playground as an avid player,
that’s how my sporting dream broke forever.
On the tract of time I played instead
the relentless games of life as ordained.
Some I won, but many I lost
in the playground of shifting goalpost.

To what extent
is reality persuadable
Are the fence posts in concrete,
the commas unknown
Are the laws of existence
as such, redefinable
The axioms fluid
—truth more than is shown

A short stout figure in the forward line of attack,
dribbled with the darting ball on the green turf.
With the magnetic pair of fleeting legs like a wizard,
spearheaded the formidable formation of the team.
The opponent defenders had to invent new strategy
to thwart your crafty moves leading to the goalpost,
but you could make your way foiling all their attempts
to see the ball flash and hit the net behind the bars.
You were the backbone of your country’s team of fame,

I believed the whole world would welcome me:
so, I left home and moved to the city.
But it wasn't like what I thought it would be
behind its neon lights; there's no pity
and success doesn't come with a guarantee.
I was disenchanted, to say the least,
'twixt expectations and reality.
And my enthusiasm quickly decreased:
as the cost of living caught up with me,
and anxiety's climb sharply increased.
Flying high, carried by the winds of hope,
I shed the innocence that bound my wings.
For, eager to do more than barely cope:
no longer a puppet; I cut the strings
that had over time morphed into a rope.
Pinocchio had to learn the hard way
that sometimes, what we think we want the most:
is but an illusion: that fades away.
But dreams continue to move the goalpost;
whenever frustration comes into play.

I saw her in a train that carries true love
Her smile made my heart to tune in to her channel of her true self
So I can see the screen play of how she worth being a future wife
I fell off the mountain of my heart
to immediately enter her ocean of roses
& sketch my mind the tattoos of her smile
I saw without any regret
My body then apply for a visa of owning her love
So my soul can be traveler to her world;
The day I got accepted, happiness became my meal for the day
she is now the eraser that wash away the recycle bin of my heart
that used to make me think of the time
my heart was a goalpost for frustration
& a Jersey to an unimaginable heartbreak

Me heads been hit many a time in me life,
I've had staples and stitches what am I like?
I've been hit hard by fists, feet and balls,
as a goalie dived into posts and floors.
In a minute one of me rhymes don't fit,
bare in mind this head of mine's been hit.
Playing football once, knocked out after headbutting the floor,
when fists knock me down, I get up, get hit some more.
I do not want to gloat, brag or boast,
about times I dived into the goalpost.
Though me heads been hit many a time,
I'm a kangaroo allergic to lime.
However, the thing about goalkeepers that aint no fun,
is when you knock yourself out you stay on the pitch cus you're the only bloody one.
Those last lines don't fit,
it's cus me heads been hit,
but i'll write about that another wine please.

The race
Yes, yes I see it coming around the corner
we see the goalpost and the run becomes
a slow walk, those in electric wheelchairs
pretend the battery is flat this is a race
no one wants to win, but the wheelchair
bound are pushed forward by the crowd
those who have not seen the goalpost.
this isn`t fair I have always been a loser
why should I be the first to the finishing line?
As a boy I won a bronze medal, was proud
of my feat, this time I don`t want a medal
let me rest and see the almond tree flower.
