Adrift

Adrift

Loving life along this disjointed time,
things adrift, no shore in sight.
Left so angry, right so right,
so what’s the future we invite?

Borders broken, countries thinned,
against His will, and almost sin.
Division sold as new inclusion,
the modern day illusion.

Group against group,
the idealist soup,
roar control,
no good for any soul.

Philosophy rolls on and on,
ideologies at ping pong,
roaming the earth like an unwritten song.

Where and what is the end game?
We’ll all go insane before we learn its name.

Premium Member Big Meanings

Even if you skip big meanings
Minding petty pace of days
Yours is splendid way of living
Straightening paths in every maze
There you go across the water
There you fly upon the land
There you stand amidst the slaughter
Which you fail to understand
What seemed complex turns out plain
As the years go by it gets
Clearer that we go insane
With our number of upsets
Tempered madness works like pill
Daily doses you can measure
By yourself, no form to fill
You would need for such a pleasure
If it doesn’t satisfy
Then you have a great resource
To repeat the reasons why
Voluntary, not by force.

A CAT I DIDN'T LIKE

I never met a cat
That I didn't like
Until I met the terror
Who goes by the name of Mike

He's a walking tornado
Storms follow him everywhere
He thinks it's funny
Tearing up my favorite chair

I had to replace the cushions
And repair the wood
It's not a scratching post
I don't think he understood

He runs around the living room
Like it's a race track
Knocking over flower pots
Oh my aching back

He's not an ordinary cat
He has a furry mane
Please somebody help me
Before I go insane

I tried to be his friend
But all he does is hiss
How much longer
Am I going to put up with this

He used to be such a sweet kitten
When he was first born
Now look at his claws
And how much he has torn

I would call the nearest zoo
But I can't reach the phone
My sweet little kitten
Thinks I'm a giant bone

Premium Member Another One About Ants

I Drip Hot Sauce
All Around Where
They Come In...
Because That
Confuses 'Em
And Makes Them
Go Insane.

A Few Get By,
And I Eliminate
'Em Forthwith.

I Want The Kitchen
To Have The Reputation
(For Ants) Of Where
Our Fellow Brothers
Went Insane.

And That's Horrific.

Because I Don't
Really Care About
A Few Ants Very Much.

They Just Bother Me,
Because They Are
Autobot Conformists
Who Only Care About
THEIR Goals... And
Aren't My Enemy,
But Never Care At
All What I Need...

I Have To Be Selfish,
Or I'm Too Mean And
Depressed.

You Know. Grrr.

Just Don't Go Insane

Umbrella held high in the rain
either dance or go insane
Tap dance or tango
put a rose in your hair
Boogie and jive
shuffle and shimmy
feel the bliss
like a gentlest kiss.
Look in the puddle
watch your reflection
breath by breath
inhale His Grace.
Twirl your umbrella
sing in the rain
do what you have to
but never no never,
give up or go insane !

Premium Member An Ode To My Brain

My favorite body part is my brain
Without that part I'd go insane
It gives me thought and lets me think
And sends me vibes to make me wink
Winkey dee and Winkey do
It can also tell me to wink at you
My butt is my second favorite part
I know it stinks and it makes me fart
But from all of the toots I've ever spout
It was my brains idea to let them out

Premium Member Tired of the Rain

I’m so tired of the rain
‘Cause every day seems the same.
All gloomy and gray, no rainbows today
Just more soggy cold terrain.

I can’t wait to see the sun.
Surely soon the day will come…
Blue skies overhead so quickly will spread
‘Til they’re seen by everyone.

Now, every life has its rain, I know
When lightning strikes and cold winds will blow
But every day the rain just falls down
I think I’m going to drown....

Now every life has its darkened times
When the sun won’t ever seem to shine.
It’s been so long since I’ve seen the light
 	It just doesn’t seem right.

I’m so tired of the rain
I really hate to complain
But it seems today’s just like yesterday
And all of these clouds just won’t away
And if I cannot go outside today,
I’m sure I will go insane...
Because I’m so tired of the rain.

Premium Member An Insomniac

Dark circles 'neith bloodshot eyes,
problems increasing in size.
Oh, how I can empathize.
Constantly, she racks her brain.
Her grip, she fights to retain.
She drops off, won't go insane...

Just then, her alarm clock cries.

Bad luck

I keep waking up
too bad luck
Holes in my socks
and my underwear
I know it's too much
info to share
I don't care
Clothing is overrated anyway
I'm not a model
on a runway
Who cares how I look
many years have passed
in this unlucky book
From flat tires to rain
to breaking down
in the fast lane
some may go insane
with all this bad luck
I obtain
But it's given me strength
given me character
That's why I look forward
to my next chapter.

Audio, Antennae

O audio, antennae.
Activate. Agonize.
O bad seed, thy bad penny.
Aim right between their eyes.

Dark fire, burn hot in my brain.
Through my veins break free.
Driver, time to go insane.
Straight into the sea.

Ring of fairies, thy best song.
Where do we belong?
Where the vibrations are strong!
Wargods, strike thy gong!

Wind atop the drear sheer cliff?
Do not dare to climb.
Charon Boatman, pole thy skiff!
Trifle, all of time...

Falcon, scream as victor!
Thy talons sharpen well!
Physician, thy rictor.
O heaven, send for hell.

Rain down on me, liquid light.
Languid as young love.
Harpy, sacred is thy flight!
Watch o'er from above!

Thought-flame, spark with vigor.
Synapses, goals to meet.
Flicker as you figure.
High holy is thy heat.

Ghast, gnash teeth and mighty fast.
Terrify thy foe.
Contender, to come in last?
Golem, time to go...

Diary of a mad man

Diary of a mad man

Sending out a message through
Somber words I write
Help me find the reason
For this horrid plight

Locate all the answers I can not seem to find
Interpret the true meanings
Before I lose my mind

Look into the chapters of my very soul
Turn each page and tell me
Where I’m bound to go

Hold my scriptures sacred
For no other eyes to see
For you alone intruder
Have discovered the true me

Tell no one you know me
Never speak my name

Stealing memoirs from a crazy
Can make you go insane

Rowing Through The Pain

Rowing Through The Pain

Row, Row, Row your boat gently down the stream
Merrily, Merrily, Merrily, Merrily life is but a dream

Row, Row, Row your boat why can’t I scream
Merrily, Merrily, Merrily, Merrily perfections not how it seems

Row, Row, Row your boat forever never ends
Merrily, Merrily, Merrily, Merrily my pain never mends

Over, Over, Over again until I go insane
Barely, Barely, Barely, Barely rowing through the pain

No, No, No you don’t go crying a river of tears
Hear me, Hear me, Hear me, Hear me crying for all these years

Burnt Out Bulbs

You never saw past the glory days of 17.
Because you got sad and thought it a better idea
to hang yourself from the ceiling fan
instead of replacing its burnt-out bulbs.

Bright idea.

Dimming the light of all the candles
whose hearts and souls were trying
to add light to your dark and dismal life.

You were selfish to drop out.
You were selfish to quit.

And
now that you're gone, I can't help but look up
at the light shining down on me from your ceiling fan.
I changed the bulbs.
So why is everything still so dark?
And how do I go about life when my only friend snuffed out my candlelight spark?
Could you come back home, please?
I can't do this without you.
And I might go insane if I have to sit and stare between the cracks in your ceiling blades any longer.
Maybe I'll snap them off,
cut my wrists,
and join you.
Wait,
even though I'm depressed,
I know there are people in my life
that still need me.
That's something I could never get
through
your thick
ing
skull.

Selfish.

Premium Member Dancing Between Skies

I like the sky, it's always promising something.
It's a soothsayer for eyes scanning up,
for signs, traces and lines of reassurance.
it carries in fragments of yesterday,

It continues its theme, but twists on cue
to change its scene
     in hue of clouds churning
in the stir of witches brew.

I look up at the sky to fly,
above the quagmire
above the monotony of my daily plod,
           grounded.

Up there I see the script in clouds,
drifting like vanes to wind's direction.
Recalling how to dream on cue,
        to believe again in happenstance.

Clouds carve the way forward,
with a longing for change, unexpected.
The sky writes in bright gold, then smears in gray.
It promises calm, then whisks it away.

It quells its brush, to hush before thunder resounds.
It gives no answer when we beg for rain.
Then, won't stop before we go insane!
I look skywards for a change to suit my clothes.

I hope for such delivery
dancing up there in cloudy skies
playing 'Both Sides Now'
      with Joni Mitchell.
