He gathered five stones for the fight of his life
only needed one the right one to win
He was a shepherd anointed to be king
young and handsome against Goliath a giant
arrogant and loud he spoke with so much venom
in despair everyone ran away as faith hid behind fear
friends and foe alike took one look at David laughed
ridiculed by the devil but he had faith no turning back
faith is all he had left, evil would not prevail
looked bad for him man's armour was awkward
it was like carrying the weight of the world
death smiles impatiently waiting for anyone someone
to be released from their earthly costume
He ran to do battle to be written for you and me
Goliath wore sword spear and javelin a fearful sight
along the way David picked up five smooth stones
put one in his sling always looking to the heavens
meanwhile Goliath swore with contempt
of David’s coming end a storied fight
he drew with words a painting of sorts
the results of his handiwork on David’s parts
without hesitation faith as his shield
David’s stone left his sling and the Giant was silenced
evil was be-headed by a shepherd, a smooth stone
and God

They are ants, my husband yelled as he came in to get his shotgun.
They are busy every second, and they are eating everything!
I heard him scream as they took the shotgun away from him.
Not only giant ants but giant roaches, and they were everywhere.
I grabbed my Bible and a Bundt cake and raced out the back door.
They were all in front the last time I looked, coming at us like an army.
There were not any back here, so I jumped in my red Ford F-150
Two were now on the truck. I screamed because they intimidated me.
By the time I reached the highway these giant creeps were in my truck bed.
Laughing and joking, smoking Marlboro’s, eating chocolates from living room.
I was livid; they killed my husband, and now they were eating my chocolates!
One of them was giving me “the eye” too. Not on your life, buster.
When I reached the town limits I realized my mistake.
The town was saturated with them. They were crawling in and out of windows.
Those long ugly legs and those creepy tails. Ugh! This was the Twilight Zone.
“Let’s have that Bundt cake” one of them said from the back. They all laughed.
A fishing boat left the port of Kinsale
The rain was lashing and blowing a gale
Fishing grounds were in sight
Then they had a great fright
Along side swam a giant killer whale.
A fish pong round the boat was so smelly
"Hold your noses "cried out Captain Kelly
Whale then bit off a chunk
Fishing boat and crew sunk
They all ended up in the whales belly.
