Family and friends are God given the treasures to our hearts – the precious jewels that adorn our lives. Quote by poet.

The Precious Jewels
Companions on my journey precious jewels
Each a treasure in my heart
When I grow weary their ruby strength
Leads me rest in lush valleys
Where peridot sparkle
Chases the ebony of night
Into topaz silence
Like faithful dragonflies
With soothing balms in amethyst visions
Like emerald leaves of my youth
They whisper of turquoise skies W
When days had no wrinkles
Dispelling tears of cloudy occlusions
With diamond purity of carved onyx
Remembering each one engraved in the facets
As I gather precious pearls of our memories
From morning moonstones and garnet twilights
Into a diadem
Of good and faithful friends and family
Gifts from a king without a birthday
I have so many best friends on PoetrySoup
It has been the go-to-place for me to meet people.
People from Australia, Africa, New York City, and Texas.
I have no idea where some of my best Soup friends live.
In the middle of the night, I will get messages from my besties.
Many of them have sent me points for my contests.
They wish me “happy birthday,” “happy Easter”, “happy Friday!’
So many wonderful friends I have made on this site.
If I am lonely or sad, I get online and read my messages.
People are kind, empathetic, lovely in their sentiments.
I am uplifted by them. They are as much a friend as my off-line friends.
Maybe more so. They understand me better.
A whisper soft, a tender glance,
Like sunlight through the morning’s dance.
Your laughter sings, so warm, so bright,
A beacon in my darkest night.
Hand in hand, our hearts align,
Two souls entwined, a love divine.
Through every storm, through joy and pain,
I’d choose you, love, again… again.
I'll wait
Because you mean so much
I'll wait
Because that's what a bestfriend does
I'll wait
Because that's what you want
I'll wait
Because you need me to
Sometimes I get frustrated
But then you lead the way
Like when the sunlight breaks through
On a cloudy day
A lifetime of patience
Just for you
A box with your name
A birthday gift
Open my gift
Awaiting inside
Is my infinite passion
My devoted soul,
Our friendship
Don’t smear birthday cake; a small slice will do.
It’s a treat to show honor.
Don’t waste away, honey!
It is her birthday, another year
full of life, love, laughter – fun, and cheer.
You cannot go wrong
that many-years strong ;)
Here is a toast to our Pangie dear!
Joyous Valentine’s Day
Happy Valentine’s Day, my friends
‘Tis the day to care for each other and to join hands
Friendship matters, love matters
Flowers matter too, brothers and sisters
Please do not be too mad
Because the sky is not blue
Let’s enjoy the morning dew
Please do not be too sad
Let’s enjoy the cold sunny weather
There’s snow here and there, but at the corner
Is spring with fresh air and a bundle of flowers
Friendship matters, love matters
There are sparkles of fire of love in the air
Let’s enjoy the season of love, peace and care
‘Tis the moment to walk happily hand in hand
Together we shall stroll, together we shall stand.
P.S. This poem is dedicated to the lovers of the world.

Not long to go it will be my signified birthday.
On this special day, the Lunar and Western Calendars will fall on the same day.
This is a coincident event.
It only happened occasionally.
By then, our friendship has also ended for one month at least.
You terminated our friendship without saying it.
But you did it in a very nasty way.
All the Apps you installed on my phones,
The Amaze, MVP, Newpipe and Total Commander,
They have stopped working.
The problem was the extremely slow charging.
The crucial point was you infected me
With the wonderful privacy firmware ideas.
Now I am in the limbo when using my phones,
To delete all the Apps you installed,
Or to put up the phone charging so slow.
There was a battle within me
A silent war amidst my own people
the reason for which I could never understand.
In this conflict I was fighting with myself
driven by an intense longing for something.
Suddenly everything fades away
the fog lifts and I see you in my dreams. Even in that dream I lose you somewhere.
When I couldn’t bear the pain of this loss I woke up from my dream
Only to remember that you are unattainable even in my dreams.
I wish for you in the dreams within my dreams
But you are so precious and unique that even there you remain beyond my reach.
I feel helpless just thinking of you.
I am so unlucky that whatever I touch whatever I desire never becomes mine.
Giant heart, relentless kindness to all she imparts
Intelligent, bookish, fashion-smart,
Leader, plants her trail with dedicated grace and flair—so you'll follow.
Laughter, as tuneful as the airs of larks or swallows.
Inquisitive, indicator of a legal luminary,
Admirable looks and acuity sounds in sharp commentary.
Neoteric, check the artistry in her stare; note the future at the tip of her fingers.

Inspired by life tree
The Christmas tree, fir or pine
Garden of Eden
Decor, mix of new and old
Tradition is evergreen
A star at the top
Sing along to Jingle Bells
Glitter reflects light
Wish you a Merry Christmas
celebrate with love and joy
O’ friend! Son of this realm your native land
and Knight of the Long Bay on the long shore -
Fisher King to its isle and rock and sand
where long ago we drank and gazed The Tor.
And I echo back to that flickered light
when the fires of youth burned in you and me -
your joust a friendly repulse to my smite
in our sometime world of headfu-ckery!
Truly we are each to each older bound
so stoke the fires that blaze up on the Firth -
think on its mortal flame, its living sound
how one day it shall perish from the Earth.
O Captain! My Captain! I say to you
the mind is still young and the heart is true.
Written: June 2010
For CB on his 50th Birthday
Note: The Tor (pictured) is a rocky outcrop
in the East Coast Bays on the northern
beaches of Auckland, New Zealand.
Captain is a reference from a Walt
Whitman line. It was an epithet CB
would often jokingly refer to me as.
The chapter I'm writing
starts with this setting
a side street that goes
for a block and ends
at a ravine.
Boxes are stacked
in the hallway.
The crimson trees outside
are still, but I know
something stirs.
The laptop screen glows
as I write.
I'll close the cover soon
but the story never ends.
A veil of clouds hides the sky.
I'll grab a quick bite
and do my laundry
for something clean to wear.
A birthday card I meant to send
lies on the floor. The friend wrote
that he moved from his house
to assisted living, his life shrinking
from seven rooms to two.
I cried when it rained last night
for a woman I once loved.
It is November
and the weather is changing.
I moved here three weeks ago
and occupied the second floor
to find my time and place.
Grandpa snored loud by the fire,
Dreaming of treats he’d admire.
He woke with a yawn,
Found the cookies all gone—
Seems the dog’s now our chief cookie buyer!
Former friend, I remember that today
Is your beautiful birthday
But I am not going to call you
Because you never answered my calls
Life is made of ups, downs and falls
Sometimes, the sky is gray, white and blue
I understand that things change
And nothing stays the same
I’m fine. I’m not the one to blame
I’ll pray for you in exchange
In fine, I won’t call you anymore
From afar, I wish you many birthdays
And the best in everything. The best days
Are usually ahead of us. No need to bore
Our readers. I’m moving on too with my life
The sky is at times gray, white and blue
Don’t worry. I stopped calling you too
Dear ex-friend, I no longer need to hear your fife
I have realized that you were a fake friend
Not a real one. You are now a cent in the sand.
