Forsake Poems | Examples

Neglected Ties

You shirk the weight of parenthood's call,
leaving your children to wither, unfed.
Are you a father, or mere specter of one?
A mother, or just a shadow that's gone?

While others nurture, educate, and guide,
you abandon your own to fate's tide.
Your concern lies with outsiders, it seems,
while your kin suffer, and your legacy beams.

The children you forsook, the partner you left,
will rise to greatness, despite the neglect.
Will you claim pride in their future fame?
Seek praise for years of absence, and hollow claims?

Awaken to your duties, and seize the day,
for the future beckons, and will not stray.

Do not forsake my Father

Do not forsake my Father
He is the one that created you
In his image
A long time ago
Please be grateful for the life you have
Here on earth
Please be grateful that you have
A bed to sleep on
Please be grateful that you have
Food to eat
Please be grateful that you can have
Your shower every morning
Please be grateful that you have
Second hand clothes to wear
That our Father gave to us

Forsake Me Not

There is nothing more to be realised
When God’s Grace is invoked and
His mercy doth flush and cleanse
A carcass so parched that
 Its once beating heart stops
Dormant Broken Empty Nothing
To be replenished just in time
Malicious ego deadened
Fear of its return a dread.
Please God never leave me.

God Will Never Forsake Us

God is there for us and he'll never forsake us.
He will be there until the days that he takes us.
He'll continue to be there for us when we're in Heaven.
He sent his only begotten son to save men and women.
You may think that God has forsaken you but that's not true.
God will always love all of us and we need to love him too.
God will never forsake us and when things are bad, he will be there.
Through thick and thin, God will be there because he truly does care.

Do Not Forsake Me, An Interview With a Dying Tree

Don’t Forsake Me
An interview with a dying tree.

Annie Willow entered my office,
It surprised all of us.

At first glance,
You might think she had no chance.

I inquired to what she would bring,
Something to add, something with zing.

Her wilted leaves and branches,
Just cleared our expansions.

She spoke clear and concise,
I had to think twice.

Years of nurturing and encouraging
My sprouts to grow, is how I learned what I know.

I am great supervisor, A revolutionist,
Working and mentoring I do to subsist.

My credentials speak for me,
Even if I am a dying tree.

Premium MemberHe Won'T Forsake You

He Won’t Forsake You
If you feel downtrodden
If you feel all alone
If you’ve lost all hope- with
No one to call-
If you need a friend and
you are hurting deep down inside
Just call the name (Jesus)
And he will be there by your side.

Look to the heavens
The answer will become clear
Look to the Lord and
 love will be near-
There is no greater love, no, not one, like the love
 which abound from the above-

Before I come to believe
I was conflicted and consumed by despair
I was lost I had no love; I didn’t care-
I wanted to go down the well
Never to be seen again
I want to run away from everything- and just disappear.

A warmness touches my ear
Then I did hear- do not cry you are not alone
I am near- I am here-
Therefore, I speak from the heart
And from what I know
God will lead you wherever you need to go
He will lift you up and carry you if that is what you need,
And he’ll never ever forsake you- no, no, not ever-
God won’t forsake you!

Listen, My Love

Listen, My Love

I reach for you like a prayer
and find you, you're always there
a comfort for my weeping heart
a safe haven when I fall apart

You won't always have an answer
to my questions but we concur
that to ask is better than to assume
knowing anger with its thorns will bloom

all the hurt feelings and the belly ache
the wasted time, the love we forsake
our woven hearts like a fragile web
wait hopeful for our soothing regret

I hold you for a moment of radiant strength
then you whisper when I get too intense
let's be patient and with tenderness
we'll find a balance for our happiness

Poetry Month Challenge: Forsake Careless Words of Death

I
English showcases Joseph Conrad, Dickens, James Joyce, Tagore
Conrad, once a Pole, Joyce may be Irish, Tagore -Indian of course
In political terms, England rocketed after 1558, besting the Spanish
Our 'lingua franca' changed from Spanish to the Queens English

II
That is all the good news, "I am afraid to say," -
Did you just hear me spout negativity
Conjuring up spirits, yes FEAR IS A DARK SPIRIT
That creeps in casually, as in pat phrases ("Watch and Pray")

III
Proverbs reminds us, "Life and death are in the tongue,"
And "I could kill myself I didn't know this early in life."
Again, the words that allow spirits against LIFE a welcome
Recall this, "My back is killing me," and "I would die for my wife!"

IV
Poets, there are stock Phrases: "idioms." They made me an idiot
About the Spirit world, shooting myself in my own foot (to boot)
So, I pledge to forsake words that speak of death and jovial killing
Because the Being inside us, the BE-ING, is also a "Human Doing"

The Past To Forsake

As I lay dying,
let go of my hand

Bid me farewell,
my words to withstand

As a last wish,
your love may I take

Into tomorrow
—the past to forsake

Why Did You Forsake Me

Author Dana Redricks
December 8, 2018

Why did you forsake me
You hardly ever call
All I ever did was love
the best I could
I gave you the best of
me but you too blind to
see
The day you left you have
seemed to have forgotten me
All I did was love you and
you what I could
You took me for granted
Failing to realized I took
care of you like a mother
would
My heart is broken it feels
as a piece of me has died
My tears pour like rivers
of pools. I'm drowning
in my sorrows
Hoping to see again maybe
tomorrow. This pain killing
slowly. I don't know
how long I will last.
Only God gives me the
strength to make it
from day to day

I Could Never Forsake You

I never want to see you binded by the shackles of fear
Bounded, sealed by lies, screaming out with tears
Lost within, pushed to the edge
Fight for the chance to live free again
I know your strong enough
Yes you are good enough
Could you conceive the chance to be loved
Feed your desire. this is not an unjust romance
Break through the blinding pain
I'm awaiting you, my arms outstretched
A need for comfort
We live for each other
Abide to me and die for you
I could never forsake you

Forsake Me Not

Forsake me not in my joy
lest they absorb my heart

Forsake me not in my sorrow
lest I speak against you

Forsake me not in my repentance
lest I lose hope of pardon and fall into despair

Forsake me not in days of strong faith
lest my faith leads to presumption

Forsake me not in my studies
lest I rest on my own strength

Forsake me not in my ministry
lest I lose my anointing

Forsake me not in my thoughts
lest I lose the mind of God

Above all, forsake me not, O Lord!
O my God, be not far from me.

He Will Never Leave You Or Forsake You

His love will never leave you
  his love wont forsake you
he is there in all you do
our God is with you

never will he leave you
never forsake you
he is there in all you do
our God is with you

he is there whatever the cost
he is there when all seems lost

 never will leave you
never forsake you
he is there in all you do
our God is with you

never will he leave you
never forsake you
he is there in all you do
our God is with you

never will he leave you
never forsake you
our God is with you
our God is with you
our God is with you
