Enchantment
Love is not the opposite of hate
that fiery passion
which turns against our heart
like a python through the blood
constricting life
love is what we yearn for
to create delicious selves
the flavouring in our lives
it is a thief that creeps upon us
or steals us from the start
of all the humours
love believes itself supreme
the drug we cannot do without
we are joyful in its midst
or a victim of its curse.

I come from the planet Vega
In the constellation Megadore
Every one of us eats plant food
There’s not a single carnivore.
To make our food taste better
And here the plot thickens
We use artificial flavouring
To make it taste like chicken.
Sometime for variety we even
Make it taste like fresh fish
Or even beef, ham or pork to
Add some variety to our dish.
I come from the planet Vega
Where our diet is complete
But some of us just can’t resist
The tempting taste of meat.
We only eat plants on Vega
Not like your awful carnivore
But we need to enhance flavour
Because plants food’s such a bore

There was an old sauce chef from Killarney,
Whose Irish stew, was flavoured with blarney.
While he quaffed bottles of hock,
That was infused with shamrock.
Which spiced up his special bouquet garni.

Hidden campfires
burn buried mouse bones,
their sooty ghosts
flavouring tattered leaves.
The trees that don't turn,
stay hung on a scaffold
drab and dreaming.
Green ribbons hang
from pall-bearing branches.
In the morning, bat wings rattle,
the light blinds them
but they will not sleep.
Shoes crunch,
and the earth hugs its litter,
pulls it under
as a bed
for the recently seen.

a smooth glow caresses the tender rotisserie coloured skin
magnificently blended with a smooth butter or margarine flavouring
tastes a bit extraordinary
a smell which locks the brain to the frame that licks
fast or slow
what ever she picks
can be enjoyed in any style
whether it be conservative or wild
memories put away in a secretive and seductive file
brought out when she needs someone to unpeel
unpeel all clothing from her curves
feeling uneasy
warmth moistens provocative nerves
tension high
tension low
tension extreme
tension blown
all gone
