Flame Up Poems

you purify all that is encrusted
bringing ashes to heaven's door
you flame up and destroy
you rise up then deploy;
Your licking flames of red and gold,
are mesmerizing me

*** COURAGE ***

To wake up.
To stand?
To step out.
Avoid thinking
    “can’t” and “but.”
Surrender worries
     into the hands of God…
To keep hope’s flame up.

To listen.
To discern.
To fall into the music
       of the spirit’s lilt
       letting slip some
          possibility…
Those mere fingertips might reach
        and hold the gold ring…
To grasp inspirations gliding by…
Do not pity the mayfly
        its short life.

Premium MemberThirteen-Year-Old Daydreamer

Notebook décor, hearts and flowers, created with glitter pens, and pretty inks.
Fancy bubble letters writing out love, tulip, magic, and other dainty words.
Mrs. John Pebbles, slyly written inside the notebook, or hidden without, as to not alert
Fourteen-year-old shy John, who might instantly flame up with a horrified red face.
The thirteen-year-old artist/daydreamers smiles as she doodles and colors, math class long forgotten.
She begins coloring in her shapes with turquoise, purple, lavender, pink, red, and yellow.
“MARY!”
Teacher sounds irritated to the listeners in the class.
Mrs. John Pebbles does not hear, she is enmeshed in a glorious daydream with her prince.
“MARY!” A few others look up, but not Mrs. J.
Colored pens are rapidly confiscated by teacher in a swift angry arm swoop upon Mary’s desk.
Mrs. John Pebbles looks up and glares at her with her full woman glare.
A housewife one second, and now a mere thirteen-year-old in math class.
A woman who cannot adorn is a woman scorned.

Premium MemberBe My Valentine

Again I stand at the same place
Where I first saw your glowing face
Your laughter like ripples on the waves
Still hold me fast to brighten my days
And I long for the sound of your breath
And your fingers like silken thread
Your sweet words whisper in the night
To flame up my heart to yearn for your sight
Whenevr I recall you gleaming
Enchanted, I sit still dreaming
I want to see your eyes in every season
They bring surprises is the main reason
Be my valentine, you're my fantasy
As I want you by me eternally.

As Beacon Bathes the Day

S-unshine in early morn
H-as begun to slowly rise;
E-arly light starts to make
R-eflections to your eyes.
I-t brightly bathes the day, denying the night cold chill;
E-mitted red rays above bring a thousand thrill.

L-ight lively bathes the day,
O-ctober twenty-fifth dawn;
U-nderneath the heaven, as the twilight is gone.

M-orn light bathes the day,
A-s the shadow passes by;
R-aindrops have faded,
C-rimson burns in the sky.
I-t warmly bathes the day,
A-fter the dark is over;
L-etting the dusk walk out, as you see the kind weather.

D-elightful flame up high
E-rases the blue and gray;
N-ever ignore the blessings,
A-s beacon bathes the day.

Let the Light Shine So Free

J-ust let the dawn break,
E-vening chill fades away;
R-ainy night has turned
I-nto a warm beautiful day.
E-arly sunrise has begun, after the twilight is over;
L-onely dusk disappears, making you feel glad and better.

A-pril twenty-second morn
P-leases you and your family;
P-ure delight and sheer joy
L-ong to share with
E-verybody.

Y-our birth brings much mirth,
A-s the darkness passes by;
P-erfect flame up above is brightly burning in the sky.

M-isty wind and hazy air
A-re both nowhere to see;
S-hadows have all vanished, to let the light shine so free.

Boiling Water

Boiling Water

I have to boil some water
But I’m not sure just how
My wife does all the cooking
But she is not home now
I start out with the water
Should it be cold or hot
I checked in an old cookbook
Directions? There were not
I know I have a gas stove
Do I turn the flame up higher
Or will it boil with low flames
As long as there is fire
I see some bubbles forming
Could it be boiling yet
What does it mean by “rolling”
How much hotter must it get
The bubbles pop and splatter
I guess it’s boiling looking
The only thing the matter
I forgot what I was cooking
