Premium MemberPepsi Jingle

If you’re feeling low and your taste buds are dry;
Your energy’s gone but the sun is still high;
You want to quench your thirst that keeps building up
Well, sit beside me and say … “Pepsi Please”

Say, “Pepsi Please”
And you’ll have a good day;
Say, “Pepsi Please”
And good taste is on its way;
Sit right here and have a Pepsi Cola
And, just like that, your blues are gonna be over.

REPEAT

Premium MemberNight Skies

Constantly travelling around this Earth
Just ahead of where the sunshine lies
Where in every culture nightmares give birth
Is the splendor of the Nighttime skies

To those who stand in just one place
Night skies seem to come and go
But it travels around in a circular race
With a swift and clever flow

When you the nighttime sky don’t see
Others are wrapped in its dark embrace
And when you look up into its infinity
Sun shines on the others' face

So please enjoy our nighttime sky
When it comes around to you again
And know that when it passes you by
It comes to me, my friend

Premium MemberForgotten Umbrellas

Umbrellas become afterthoughts
once the rain has cleared away,
And are left behind like discarded lovers
whose partners have moved on for a brighter day.

Held close and tight when the need was there;
opening up to let you in;
Cast aside when confidence has been restored;
forgotten like an embarrassing sin.

And yet, they hang around;
Waiting for the next lover to come along
who needs protection from the coming storm,
prepared to repeat their lovelorn song.

Are you the long-lost lover or the umbrella hung upside down?
Do you give your all to protect those you love or do you run around?

Premium MemberWhispers of Light

Deep inside a tormented soul, where suicidal thoughts give birth;
Where the cost of what it takes to live hardly seems to be what it is worth;
Deep in the abyss of forgotten dreams and of a wasted, forsaken life,
Is faintly heard, the angel’s word, uttered in whispers of light.

In the darkness of despair; in the shadows of lost hope;
In the emptiness out there – at the end of one’s rope;
In the moment of willingness to abandon the good fight;
The angel’s song, starts growing strong, echoing whispers of light.

The stairway back to spiritual health often comprises many flights;
But, to help us go, we might first know, the angel’s whispers of light.

Premium MemberYes, I Just Went There Again

I go there while sitting in the executive conference room during budget meetings.
I go there while listening to his teacher tell me he acts like the ten year old boy that he is.
I go there while stuck in traffic with the other sheep being led to slaughter.
I even go there in the middle of the preacher trying to send me down the righteous path.

I go there in the grocery store line while price checks are being called for the shopper in front of me.
I go there with uncompleted tax report forms sitting in front of me on my desk.
I go there with a snow shovel in my hand, pushing it back and forth across my driveway.
I even go there in the middle of a prostate exam.

And, every time I go there - it is just as beautiful as ever.
I smell the bountiful fragrance of the most colorful flowers.
I meld with the butterflies fluttering about; I rejoice in the songs of the birds gliding on air above.
That secret garden that exists deep inside of my being is what helps me to carry on.

Premium MemberInto Night's Dwelling

Sometimes, the worries that fester under the heat of the sun
are softened by the glow of the moon.
Sometimes, that deed done in daylight that we think has ruined our lives forever
seems less devastating and more forgivable in the dark of night.

Sometimes, troubles that tend to follow us around like the growing day’s shadow
melt into the mixture of blackness that hides the whereabouts of singing crickets.
And, sometimes, just when we think we can no longer face another day of mundane boredom,
the midnight skies injects into us the energy to welcome another sunrise.

I bid yesterday goodbye and let the darkening night erase my slate of recent events
allowing the coolness that accompanies the moonlit skies to give me thoughts of tomorrow.
I know each tomorrow, no matter the script it reads, will be replaced by another opportunity
to lay under the starry canvas and contemplate what is in store for other tomorrows.

Sometimes the day plays out like my dreams and sometimes the nightmare wins out,
But, I always know there is an end in sight where I will have another encounter with night.

Premium MemberTwisted Metal

I kissed them both goodbye and said that I would try
To meet them in two days down at the shore
I had some work to do but as soon as it was through
We’d all have some fun, that’s for sure

I was on a conference call when outside the house I saw
A policeman walking to the door
I said I had to go, somehow being in the know
That I’d see my family nevermore

The look upon his face froze me standing in one place
I never heard a single word that he said
The picture he showed to me was of twisted metal around a tree
Where they had found my wife and child dead

A deer carcass on the road explained the tragedy, I am told
But nothing explains the sense of it all
How could a God up above take away all that I love
Is my only question as I can recall

Now I lay awake each night in a room devoid of light
And envision that picture on his phone
Twisted metal around a tree is the only thing that I can see
As my whimpers echo throughout the home

Twisted metal around a tree is the only thing that I can see
As my whimpers echo throughout the home

Premium MemberA Night To Remember

The dark; the gloom; the waning moon dost shine
The beast within the pounding heart unwinds
The night’s delight awaiting sunset
The girl sits all alone

The stars shoot by overhead up high
Crickets sing out a lover’s lullaby
A night to dream a fantasy of love
The boy takes her home

Premium MemberSoftly Sensual

Like a late autumn sun
Melting the frost upon the fields
Her smile warms my heart
Memories of her touch never yields

My heart skips a beat
Every time she brushes near
I drown in her moist breath
As she whispers sweet nothings in my ear

Knowing her in a way
No other human possibly can
Makes me soar high above the earth
Thanking God I am a man

Premium MemberEpiphanies

I felt for him such sympathy
Because too late he had the epiphany
Of realizing just what a good thing he had
After she left him for being treated so bad

Sometimes the light comes on too late
The epiphany only magnifies our mistake
The question is, “Was the lesson learned”
Or, once again will we have to get burned

But we can learn from one another’s flaws
Was my own epiphany as I recall
And that girl that left him with a shattered life
Is now the angel that I call my lovely wife

Premium MemberBurning Embers

Embers glow from the memory of a flame
Burning red hot – at the whisper of her name
Hoping that she too, must somehow feel the same
And forever, inside, burning embers shall remain

A heart, once on fire, keeping souls immersed in heat
For a chance to burn again and lustfulness repeat
Embers left unstirred will surely soon burn out
But a soft, gentle breeze and fire again will start to sprout

My embers burn for you from the night that we once shared
Engulfed in love’s flames; throwing caution to the air
Combustible lust – other lovers should beware
My embers only burn for the girl with golden hair

Premium MemberA Flame Once Burned

I saw an obituary in the paper today
From a page in my life I had turned
A tear down my cheek had slipped away
For a flame that had long ago burned

The flame shone bright for a year or two
From a chapter in my book of youth
For years I had wondered what happened to you
It was my fault, if you must know the truth

I thought perhaps other flames
Might burn for me brighter still
Thinking that love was just a game
A quest I would never fulfill

Tear drops spotted the paper
As I remembered this love I had spurned
The flickering never quite wavered
From the light of this flame once burned

Premium MemberWinter's Blanket

The night sky is the perfect backdrop
For a ballet of falling stars
In the form of fluffy snowflakes
Dancing on the wind sometimes bizarre

They get knitted into a blanket
Covering the ground once green and plush
Go to sleep my little seedlings
Your rebirth we need not rush

The crackling fire plays out a symphony
As I cuddle up with my love
And we watch in perfect harmony
Snowflakes plié in the skies above

The landscape transforms before our eyes
As we watch with pure delight
With hot cider to help warm our hearts
She dons her dress of virginal white

My love sleeps under the blankets
Wrapped up in my folded arms
As I continue watching the winter ballet
Mesmerized by her delicate charms

Premium MemberAnother Crossroads

Standing at another crossroads
On this journey we call life
Choices that could lead to happiness
Choices that could lead to strife

Thinking about my options
And which way that I might go
North or south or east or west
To a destination I don’t know

One path might be good for me
But not so much for ones I love
One path might lead to pleasures
Forbidden from up above

One path might lead to riches
One path might leave me broke
I seriously consider who might get hurt
These choices are not a joke

But I don’t want to take too long
Contemplating which path that I might take
Because I’ve found that just standing still
Is, by far, the bigger mistake

Premium MemberFragile Vases

Self-esteem is such a fragile vase
Easily shattered by thoughtless words
You can tell by the look upon her face
That the breakage has already occurred

On the verge of becoming a woman
Venturing out into the world on her own
And she is battered by words full of venom
From adults who should better have known

You should build her up and not tear her down
Simply because you envy her for her youth
You’ve already had your night on the town
Don’t destroy her with what you think is truth

The pieces that now lay broken
Are not easily put back into place
You cannot take back words that were spoken
And restore the confidence that you have erased

Allow your child to love herself
And be proud of the vase that she is
Remember your youth and how you once felt
Wanting the confidence to go out and live
