I recall the yelling but silent voice of winter
that broken December when the lights from
lanterns shot up from their wicks with the
fading strength of departing glows abroad.
Twilights hastened through the spine of
receding days, halting the approach of a
wayward Christmas.
The wilderness around us yielded froths from a
puking snowstorm,
fastening laces of Hell with strings of abundant
sleet.

I met him when I was twelve years old.
He was like a shadow with no name.
He slipped inside my body,
And my fear acted like his throne.
When I'm alone,
He wraps his fingers around my throat,
Gradually fastening them,
Asking me to finish the game he started.
Through every sleepless night,
He whispers in my ears:
"I won't leave you.
Not now, not ever."
I try to breathe,
But he draws all the air from my lungs.
I try to run,
But suddenly, I’m surrounded by darkness.

Destiny slacks his jaw,
As I prance around my room,
Bare feet patter at the floor,
Destiny bellows and screams ,"ACTION!"
"But my heart aches," I retort,
Limbs tied with fastening tension,
Destiny turns its back to my sight,
An enchanting mist settled on my soul,
Perhaps I shall try - just for tonight,
I stacked flesh upon flesh,
To gather a steadfast silhouette,
meat hardened on my bones,
I must break the chains,
To pay the debt,
Day upon day, I paint with my tears,
I destroy what is mine,
To make up the years,
And my Magnum Opus complete,
I stood on my feet,
A smile beamed so proud,
Was futile to dare so loud.
My friend did not return,
Destiny lost it's burn,
Cruel is the brand on my skin,
God damns my sin,
A sloth of a man,
An example to men,
A sloth cannot love,
A sloth is our Jupiter,
Wishing to be a star, above.

I thought buttons were born but to fasten,
Or if not, as added frill to fashion,
But not those on coat-sleeve—
They were placed there to peeve,
To teach a wiping nose a sure lesson!

Poet’s note: Buttons on coat sleeves is a fashion today. But that was not the purpose why they were fixed there long back. Napoleon’s forces, exposed to cold, when started wiping noses with coat sleeves, he was annoyed and had buttons fixed on sleeves making it uncomfortable to wipe nose. Yea, these buttons were not for fastening, nor for fashion.

To you, Geoffrey, congratulation
On your gladdening Graduation
Well-deserved: the standing ovation:
You are ready to serve your nation….
However, I fear, from your bedroom,
As you wait for the right job to loom!
Spurious has been the worshipped oil boom,
A compatriot leaning on it – Doom!
Now, to face it, one shapes one’s future,
Defeats a drag-me-down subculture,
Adds refreshingly to one’s stature,
Story rewrites and paints new picture…
How to deal with eyes for the TV,
Each day to some firm with your CV,
Hopes fastening on future PV:
Some patients are treated no IV…
I have said but part of all the things,
The main point: A Graduate tries hand swings;
In his ears I-can-open-doors rings…
Forever above Angels with wings.

Fastening securing pulling supporting
A force that binds
Linking your mind to Devine
Darkness and light

Light moves darkness enter
Morning comes darkness flee
The key is free for you and me
Open your eyes and see
What price has been paid

Wind blows to set strain apart.
Yet, sheep joyfully bear it a cross.
Hardly do they mind to depart,
Rather tag the fight posse.
Im not fake.
I bake natural cake.
It may really ache
And take time- for a sake
But never been opaque.
With joy, pen swims through tunnel:
For sacrifice, mind walks through the valley;
Fastening pages to the trunnel,
Trading lines and stanzas energy for galley.
Outpouring enough through grace funnel...
Flying birds, quills feather.
Chirping sounds good a say,
In all kinds of troubling weather.
Knowledge grows not grey.
Don't just know YOU:
Somewhat stupid and funny, a star.
Not only in all you do,
People choose to write you memoir.

The moon has set: bright, revealing its peace
As the radiance of its light gives close warmth
To bail me out of subsequent release
That keep up yelling at distant moon's girth
A lone me derelict to fresh winter
Battling breeze compels silent trees to dance
The hope of summer unto midwinter
Cum a solemn wish longing speedy trance
Fastening my mind unto weather's seatbelt
Driving nature at high speed heating freeze
Yet cheerful moon toasts cold breeze but not melt
Whenever bed bleeds warmth to dry at ease
I prefer real vibes of raw openness
Once in a full yellow moon drunkenness

That Diaspora represent a piece of my identity,
Strewed my views on the squires of taciturnity,
Inconspicuous lines and depictions,
And then there's the pencil wizard,
Follow my body's rhythms, that I used to bury,
A meandering deer in the tangle of conscience,
I interred it in the depths of my gentle soul,
He was doused in letter ink,
I interfered with him in some proper link,
The beater is nipped by a beehive,
Following the poke scores another shove,
Silence and no ardour, to mitigate brain's fury,
An ink would be dainty, to soothe mind's rage,
The gap was scared, so he squeezed a sunrise,
Swollen and grown, with that slammer,
Reluctantly urge her to endow what she's realized,
I swore an oath of ultimate devotion.
Her moral sins were washed by the Lord.
You didn't hook sight of her fastening orbs.
Twilight's deeper level starts eagerly with a rally.

its a kilt and not a quilt we are free dangling souls
not out of kilter for we value balance and freedom
there is no hidden agenda as we battle opposition
with harmony and steadfast equilibrium let loose
left right left right we march on belligerent fields
careful not to have the kilt pin pierce our pride
in case of too much passion we hide any sense
of arousal although war is an emotional business
dressed in sporran and fastening strapping we fight
for our women children and fierce independence
we tread through mountains valleys and thistles
prick resistance and domination right where it hurts
swords lances and crossbows spill justice’s seeds
maces and tribuchets defend rightful possessions
caltrop and quick lime disperse our enemy’s lines
cull sculls and bones of our foes and burn with desire
today it is the ballot box and rugby pitches on which
we stake our claim where we score tries and convert
stand up to history’s decline and conquer intolerance
and the Tartan Armies march on in elevated disguise

The nimble thimble
Once touch this heart
Pushing shapely
Piercing my heart
Threading with loops
Around and around
Tying us together
Forever
Dressed as one
Completely covering
Our Love
Sewing our buttons on
Fastening this love
A pattern of
Gods Love

I want you,
To be a drop of water,
From those dreamy clouds
Falling apart,
Through this cold cold air,
Fastening on its path,
Dropping on my expensive specs,
Making it's way down to the frame,
Almost a minute it must take,
Before it slides on my cheeks,
It's size almost halved,
And when it ends itself evaporating,
I want you!

Driven by my message,
settled by the score
Riveting exposure,
fastening secure
Burning through my memory,
reminding once again
The past and future just a myth
—nothing but pretend
