Farrier Poems

Premium MemberSpectacular Sequined Shoes

She-steed's stunning stellar shiny silver shoes,
she showcased so special,
Sam, she-steed's sequoia-sized steed shoer,
stood smiling,
sparkling, starry sequined saddle,
such sweetness!

The Farrier
Miracle Man
3-16-2022

With uninhabited joy sings his hammer,
upon the anvil fashioning a tune.
The “Smithy’s” life, not one of glamour,
reshapes a shoe this day in June.

Billows puffing keeping flames hot,
with shaping done there’s cooling to do.
Fifty meters and you’re from earshot,
with music concluded- a single horseshoe.

Now nail that sucker on!

I strolled through the local cemetery the other day
And here are some epitaphs I observed along the way:

Cletus O'Toole lies herein
Too much boozing done him in!

Here lies a gambler molding in his crypt
Odds are he was shot by a chump he had gyped!

His spouse spotted him leaving a house of ill repute
In short order she done him in during a heated dispute!

Clyde raced down the mountain and failed to swerve
Meeting his doom on an S-shaped curve!

His plea to the judge was ruled to be moot
He was sentenced to hang for fencing some loot!

Buckaroo Bob was throwed from his horse
And was buried with his boots on as a matter of course!

The town ruffian was our late friend Keith
He met his match and was interred sans his teeth!

Pilot Pete's final radio message was, "Oh! Shoot!"
Seems he forgot to don his parachute!

Farrier Fred was a premier cobbler as a general rule
Alas, he was kicked in the head by an unruly mule!

Butcher Bruce was expert at wielding his knife
But in a fatal spat he was out-wielded by his wife!

Sun strike horizon white triangle
Erases deep turquoise in thin ice
Steady spiral turn winds triumph
Explores sea bed, drilled precise

Turned ground pleads for mercy
Surrenders dug out cry of agony
Tumble gems an ancient mason
Sought to swap for sovereignty

Miner compiles silica currency
Shells she's clenched fluoresce
Money funnelled subterranean
Spectrum rips open firey chests

Technique imagines same future
Strength set on bone, sure farrier
Temporary gold gallops to zenith
Sharp ocean glint disappears her

The Hostler's Daughter

Lassie, pretty, invincible pleasure
The pride of a skilled crafter!
There lived on the landscapes a farrier,
By the ruins of Ottoman Empire.
His daughter, heaven's courtier!
A professional innkeeper;
Sometimes serving the Royal Jester;
Sometimes guardian of her.
That pleasant horizon for a dreamer,
That they sacrifice in the frontier
Of love, appeal and offence everywhere!
Where lassie's fragrance pioneer,
Torturing forlorns by means unfair!
Those clouds might dare
To split into colors of her;
But had never!
All that crawls on land and those travels in air,
And invisible hands are her tributer!
The fireflies suffer
Whilst she trespass the heart of winter,
Alone into those woods frozen by the touch of her;
Soft, legs of benevolent fur!
Lassie,the alluring chapter
Of course the forlorn's desire!.....

I named her Chestnut, color of her coat,
and love to hold her muzzle near my cheek,
then run my hand from poll through forelock tuft
down withers over croup...such grand physique.

But now concerned about her rear leg limp;
a problem with her stifle, gaskin, hock?
Or lower...coronet band on her hoof;
perhaps a stone in frog or sprained fetlock.

Inspection of back hoof showed small heel crack
most likely due to horseshoe mal-aligned.
With pat on back, I walk her to the barn
and waste no time...a farrier must find.

Whats Wrong With Yours

my heart has a hole in it
so whats wrong with yours?
need tongs for sure
deep frozen ore
reach out when sore
selfish people stay silent
and it hurts even more
now I see your core
principles that run a school
cultures that make us tools
seemingly were confused
forgetting some golden rules
ratios for when were dry
softening up our stool
opening up to why
emotional yet staying cool
colloquially im a fool
supposedly major pull
karma my favorite mule
started and lacking fuel
the artist of loving cruel
forgiveness just in my pocket
never forget the duel
grueling my favorite project
moving for better prospects
people are not just objects
reminding you of the options
shaking you in the conscious
taking away the nonsense
ignorance have me nauseous
thinking of mr pontius
carry it in my conscience
parry a basic promise
farrier of running honest
comparing the daily conquest
airing progresses' onset

Premium MemberBeing Shod

A warm Spring's fragrant wind
lifts leaf shadows as, molten metal
sizzles from the sudden wet plunge
A farrier holds firm the muddy fetlock
while on three legs a plough horse
stands, docile beneath the hammer blows

A brown eye shines and gently
shuts- he lets a practised hand
glide over sweat-stained withers
that wiggle when a fly lands

The first foot falls- a soft
snort from a velvet muzzle as he
lifts the other to be shod

Soft hooves becoming, iron clad
