Charlotte the fancy hippo put on airs all the time
her clock was better than most, it had a lovely chime
She had the fanciest laces on her pantaloons, for sure.
Charlotte confided that she had sweet smelling manure
Some believed her but others knew much better.
We had smelled her gas through her jeans and sweater.
Today she is on a swing bragging it is the best around.
Some of us are hoping it breaks and she ends up on the ground.

Cassie, a green faced witch could not find the right kind of man
I think I’ll make an elixir and create him, she would deadpan
She actually did it, wearing her fanciest ruffled dress
It had not been ironed, so was a bit of a mess
Her purple hat had rosettes of green, fuchsia, and teal
She incorporated a few items she got “in a steal”
her red curly hair got close, and a few of them dropped in
He came out perfectly lovely with bright pink skin
Sorry she said, but I wanted a green-skinned guy
He jumped out of the cauldron and showed that he could fly
she got on her broom and chased him off over a hill
spoil alert, this did not have a happy ending for this guy named Will
He got tossed off his broom and fell into a rather deep pond.
Cassie cast a spell, and he turned into tall pea green frond.
He was not the guy for me she said, picking up an old toad.
The next experimental ingredient, a gloomy forebode.

If I had a guitar and I knew how to play
I’d be on tour, playing music all loud and gay
I would have a fan base that would be yelling my name
None of my fine renditions would be the same
I would seriously pluck those strings in the fanciest way
if I had a guitar and I knew how to play

No harmful or irksome thoughts
stir this mind to absolute madness,
and away from annoying, frequent sounds:
only peacefulness soothes irritated senses;
I may fall asleep and dream
in a state of false reality,
letting the fanciest fantasy
enter the bloodstream!
The crimson sunset arising over the wind-swept moor
alleviates the mood of daily woes such as this murmur;
the torrid day, unlikely a dry desert, gives into a cool breeze:
nothing is heard above and under but the shrilling of a geese!
All the joyous smiles flashed by others were missed by me,
and the craving was stuck into my throat unable to spit it out
and feel the relief I needed to carry me through a painless night;
firebugs aren't pretty butterflies, they glow and suddenly flee!

Swirly dress of turquoise waves flipped up water edges
Showing off ocean’s prettiest, frothiest, fanciest lacy petticoat
Appreciated by beach, who felt honored and appreciated
Loving that he was the lone recipient of such beauty this morning

Snail travels to Japan in the fanciest way
We see him traveling, he’s cutesy today
He is wearing a camera around his neck.
He stops to give the emperor a genuflect.
His hat is from Australia, his eyeglasses from the wild.
He scoots around old men, he picks up a lady bug child.
We flowers surround him, admiring his ensemble of beauty.
It is our Japanese privilege, not our tradition or duty.

She had feet that danced the fanciest dances
He stared as they created magic up and down the floor
He had never seen such feet.
He was entranced, enthralled, excited
She enthused, inspired and empowered him.
He began to dance.
“I must have had too much to drink,” the old lady said.
She was the only one still sitting at the table.
“That damned salt shaker is dancing”

He is the most gorgeous seahorse in south side bay.
His colors are enriched and lively, his ambiance is gay.
He wears his designs in the freshest, fanciest new way.
We follow him with our camera, not knowing what to say.

As I cling to what matters, fare thee well,
spoken as I drown in the hereafter;
and I’ll see you on the flip side of hell.
Tickets for this dreamy ship sought after…
By sea, everything for the well-to-do.
Well! Well! This slippery slope is for all.
Vanderbilt, no more riches to pursue!
As the ship breaks apart, there is no wall.
Behold clatter of titanic dishes.
The fanciest food on fire - rich, I say.
Brandy warms the throat like lifeboat wishes.
Go, I, into the freeze to pass away.
Palpable stars, they sting my open eyes.
I hate the dark, the screams of night, the saved.
No motherly lullaby of bye-byes.
Contrast the pier when Southampton waved.

the fanciest sleeping sun I have ever seen
is sitting on a fence outside, in my meadow green.
I love everything about her, she has an acrylic sheen.
Shh! Be quiet or you’ll wake her said my friend the queen.

how much longer does a woman wait?
she feels humiliated and gawked at
she got all dressed up to be jilted?
in public? In the fanciest restaurant in town?
She was thinking it was wedding proposal time.
Wearing her prettiest silk dress, it has been an hour.
Her phone dings. She looks down. I’m running late.
She leaves an hour later, finally getting it.

Turquoise was demure and fancy.
A light blue beauty, with pretty birdsong.
Our famous Mama Queen Fisher bird.
Smart too, with a flair for fishing.
She lured the fish out of the lake with her melodies.
Her traps were always full of smitten catfish or bass.
Fishermen paid her to bring them a catch.
She collected the fanciest gourmet birdseed from them.
We should have called her Copper, Silver or Gold.

Lucinda dressed up in her fanciest bluest most satiny dress.
It had flounces and ruffles, creases that gave her a caress.
She was in her party finery, sitting still, waiting for her guest.
Her collie, Labrador and Scotty dog gave barking a small rest.
They will be here any second, she assured her puppy friends.
The doggy brigade sat patiently, doing cartwheels and knee bends.
Lucinda was disappointed, for no humans appeared that day.
Each had an excuse about why they had to go away.
It’s those dogs, her mother said. No one wants to be around them.
Lucinda did not understand this, so she spoke to cousin Clem.
Your pups don’t like us, he told her. They only like one person – you.
No one wants to eat with dogs, it makes us nervous, Lu.
